Help, Flash Player 10 not running.
Help, when trying to view videos from You Tube I keep getting prompted to install flash player 10 but it doesn't run. My current system is a MAC OS X 10.5.8, 1.8 Ghz Power PC G5 with 1 GB DDR SDARM Memory. How do I solve this?

Flash player not running in Firefox, even worse in IE
I can't seem to be able to run the Flash player. If I try to run a video on Adobe TV, I can see a normal video player with the buttons I would expect to see: Pay, Rewind, etc. But nothing happens when I press Play. I tried this same video using IE, but it looks even worse: I see nothing but a white box -- no controls at all.
I'm running Windows 7, 64-bit. I'm using the latest version of Firefox (3.6.11) and the latest version of Flash (10.1.85.3). I almost never use IE, so I don't know whether I have the latest verion or not (8.0.7600).
Suddenly and recently, I'm having an additional problem. I don't know whether it could be related or not, but just in case: I suddenly could not upload a file using Firefox. I could, however, upload the same file using IE. I've checked all my security settings in Windows, Firefox, and McAfee, but can't find anything which would block uploading.
Another bit of info just in case: Windows stealthily installed Windows Live. When I started having the upload problems, I uninstalled Windows Live.
Message was edited by: Rodieck to add additional information.I've found the problem, and it had noting to do with Flash. All the problems were caused by me: somehow (and for some unknown reason) I had my security software set to block "Firefox Plugin Container" which was needed to run the Flash player. Unblocking this also fixed my Firefox uploading program.
Thanks for your reponse, though, helpful person whose name I cannot read :^) You started me learning more about video players, and that finally caused me to stumble across the right answer. -
FLASH PLAYER NOT RUNNING ON SECURED COMPUTER
I
believe my problem is similar to the one described here.
We are running Windows Server 2003 with thin clients that RDP
into the server. I have the latest version of Flash player
installed on the server. I have administrative priviledges and I
have no problems but for a secure user they get a message that the
website requires the latest version of flash player. We have many
websites we need to visit that have flash content and we can't. I
assume that it is related to one of two things: 1) Flash player
won't function without administrative priviledges [which would be
absolutely stupid on Adobe's part if this is the case] or 2) there
is a GPO setting preventing it from functioning. I think the latter
is the correct problem. I am not farmiliar enough with the way
Flash player operates so I need a little guidance finding the
correct GPO - any ideas anyone? When I open Task Manager the only thing I see is "Tasks". I do not see the Processes tab. I have seen this in the past along with measures of other activity, but not anything now. I tried the Start/Search - nothing about Processes.
Once the Task Manager is running, select the Processes tab. On older Windows version you may need to click on the Process Name or Image Name header to sort the process names.
Now right-click on every process that the Flash Player installer needs to close (e.g. iexplore.exe), then select End Process. -
Flash Player not running/installing
So far, on two computers, I have had this problem.
I have no problem downloading the software, I even installed it on two computers.
However, when I go to install it on a few computers in my work environment, it will ask to run and not run. I sat for ten minutes waiting for it to run and it wouldn't. Both are XP's, sp3, 1GB, IE8.
Does anyone have any idea's?Download offline installer: Where can I find direct downloads of Flash Player 11 for Windows or Macintosh?

Hi, can anyone help? I have google chrome with latest version of adobe flash but I cant seem to run it. I cant open files that require adobe flash. Instead I get a blank page with a prompt to get adobe flash. When I click on the prompt, another message says I already have adobe flash installed but it has been disabled. I follow the step by step instructions given and confirm adobe flash is enabled but it still wont work. I've tried again and again and the same messages are still coming up. What could be the problem?

Flash player not run with Safari 5.0.4
Hi Friends:
Two days ago, I installed an upgrade of Safari to 5.0.4 (6533.20.27); since this upgrade, any web page that use flash player is not working, instead of the images appears a message "module not found" and in web pages like Facebook or Youtube, if you try to run video, the system show a message "It's necessary to update flash player".
I uninstalled flash player and installed it again using the last version provided by adobe ( 10.2.152.33 ) but after that the answer is the same.
Any Ideas?Hi friends:
I just find the problem and the solution.
The problem is not Safari 5.0.4 in fact, the problem is that (I think) we installed at the same time the safari update and the java update; the java update installed a plug-in that interfere with the other ones in safari.
you could solve the problem doing two things, one is left your java version in the near before the last one (it´s necessary to install OSX again) or move out the file JavaPluginCocoa.bundle located in HD/Library/Internet Plug-Ins/
I prefer the first solution because I'm using SAPGui for java too and it´s not compatible with the las java version too. -
I have repeatedly uninstalled Flash Player, then installed the newest version, getting a message that it has been successfully installed. However, whenever I try to open a file requiring Flash Player, I get an error message stating that I need to install the newest version of FP. Help, please.......

Help with Flash Player- Not Playing
I recently went to a website where it said that i needed to
download the latest version of Flash Player. I followed the
directions and installed it, and the movie came up after
installation, but on the website it still said i needed to install
flash player again. I went through the other forum posts and tried
everything, but it still wouldn't show up. Then today i was on the
website and finally the video came up, but then when i refreshed
the page the video was gone and it again said i needed to install
the latest version of Flash Player. The video has shown up twice in
the past day, then says i need to reinstall again. I've tried
everything, but the videos just wont show up. Does anyone know how
to fix this for good?JDB... your problems and solutions are different (and much
more complex). Read this CAREFULLY.
Printable, lovingly formatted versions of these steps, valid
as of 9/15/2007 are available. I recommend printing them and
following along with the print version:
.doc:

.pdf:
http://www.supportflash.com/bent/flash_player_ocx_troubleshooting.pdf
The issue is this: You have multiple accounts on your XP
machine. One account plays Flash no problem, the other doesn't,
although both are Administrator accounts. Or possibly you have only
one account, and that account fails to play any Flash content. In
any case if you have ANY odd trouble with the Flash Player ActiveX
control for Windows as of September 2007, these should be your
steps. And yes, you need to do both sets of steps, in order!
The cause: This is usually caused by either or BOTH of the
following problems:
1. Leftover locked bits of an old Flash Player installation
2. Registry permission errors (aka 'ACL's)
OK so what do you do about this?
ONE: Identify possibly leftover Flash player bits
a. Open C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash folder.
b. Download the latest FP uninstaller from
http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_14157.
c. Run the uninstaller. If you get a notice saying you need
to reboot, then reboot.
d. Look at C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash folder.
e. Does any file ending in .ocx remain? (flash.ocx,
flasha.ocs, flash9d.ocx etc...)
e1. If no, then you don't usually have any leftover locked
bits.
You're done with this part of the problem, proceed to TWO.
e2. If yes, then that remaining .ocx file may be locked.
Right click it
and select properties and look at the version tab.
What is the version number?
f. Is the version number Flash Player 9.0.16.0 or earlier?
f1. Use the uninstaller instructions from this technote:
http://www.adobe.com/go/4da116d3
-- section "Flash Player 9.0.16.0 and earlier"
-- DO NOT re-register the uninstaller. ONLY do this
UninstFl.exe part.
Yes, you'll need to know how to use the command line to do
this. If you're not
comfortable with that then take your machine to someone who
is!
g. Is the version number Flash Player 9.0.28.0 or higher?
g1. Use the uninstaller instructions from this technote:
http://www.adobe.com/go/4da116d3
-- section "Flash Player 9 (9.0.28.0) and later"
-- DO NOT re-register the uninstaller. ONLY do this
UninstFl.exe part.
In both the D and E sections above you'll need to use the
specific name of the control that remains
in the C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash. So if you had a
stuck flash9b.ocx[DJM1] in the folder
and version was 9.0.28.0, your uninstall command would look
like this:
UninstFl.exe -u
c:\windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\Flash9b.ocx
That said, if you have trouble running these commands it
really is necessary to find someone who knows how
to use the command line, either a friend or a local
professional. Or spend some time learning about the
command line yourself.
h. RERUN the uninstaller you downloaded earlier. This should
get rid of the remaining (now unlocked) .ocx file and fix any
registry keys associated with it.
ALL of section "ONE: Identify possibly leftover Flash player
bits" is important. BUT this locked bit problem only happens on
maybe one out of 50 machines. So most people with installation
problems such as this are not going to have locked bits.
AND even after reinstalling you may still have continued
problems with Flash Player not being recognized.
Then we have to move on to section two..
TWO: Registry Permission Problems
We have been working on Flash Player failures caused by
Windows System Registry issues. We have not been able to determine
what’s causing these permissions to change. But that change
prevents the successful installation of Flash Player ActiveX
control (used by IE Windows).
Registry permission problems can be resolved using a tool
called SubInACL, built by Microsoft to correct system registry
issues.
Symptoms: What to look for:
1. If you install Flash Player on IE and are unable to see
Flash content on any webpage
2. After installation C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash
will have flash 9c.ocx in it but it failed to register
3. It appears that Flash Player installed correctly, but
unable to view Flash content
4. Flash Player works on other browsers, but NOT Internet
Explorer
5. If you are missing groups in HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT Advanced
Permissions
6. If you have run registry cleaners in the past, this may
have corrupted your system
Warning: The following solution involves the Windows System
Registry. Editing or manipulating the registry incorrectly can
result in serious system damage which may require re-installation
of the operating system. If you are not comfortable editing the
registry, then take your system to a professional. If you choose to
proceed, then it is essential that you create a complete system
backup and a Windows System Restore Point before proceeding. Adobe
Systems cannot be held responsible for damage resulting from this
information.
1. Select Start > Run
2. Type in “regedit”
3. Right click on HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT
4. Select Permissions
5. Select Advanced
For Vista
Compare your permissions with the ones in this screenshot.
http://www.supportflash.com/vista_key.png
For Window XP Pro or other flavors of XP
Compare your permissions with the ones in this document
“Troubleshooting system registry issues that prevent Flash
Player installation” (scroll down to the bottom of page).
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=kb400116
Notice any major differences, missing groups, incorrect
permissions?
How can you repair the System Registry, what's the fix
Download SubInACL from Microsoft to fix permission issues
that prevent the Flash Player Installation.
http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/knowledgebase/index.cfm?id=fb1634cb
NOTE: The Microsoft version of the .cmd script run by
SubInACL is not be run on any XP version other than Pro. HOWEVER,
the Adobe .cmd script in the above technote is tested safe for ALL
VERSIONS OF XP!!!
If you have a Windows System Registry permission issue that
sounds like the one described above, SubINACL may be the solution.
Please note that if you have this issue on multiple accounts on one
machine you’ll need to fix each machine individually. -
Flash player not showing up in start menue?
installed version 11 7 700 202 on new computer running windows 7 and internet explorer. Installations said complete, but the program does not show up in the start menue and does not activate when trying to view videos, sometimes getting the message that I do not have flashplayer plugin downloaded? On the adobe help site the find version help tool displays that "flash player is running on your system" by showing the movie of that text and a red ball. So what the heck is going on. I have restarted the computer a couple time too?
Flash Player is only a browser add-on, not an executable program, so it won't appear in the Start menu.
Regarding Internet Explorer, a couple of possibilities

Repeatedly, this error code suddenly appears on the screen and I don't have a clue what it means or what to do: "A script in this movie is causing Adobe Flash Player to run slowly. If it continues to run, your computer may become unresponsive. Do you want to abort the script?
No Yes"Hi,
Some "movies' are actually Flash files.
This means the Flash App will play them (possibly in a browser in some cases).
Depending where this item is and how it is playing it may be effected by other things
A web page can include javascript.
Apple uses javascript here to help with creating the posting box, the Edit options, Adding pics/smilies and the like.
Sometimes the javascript can be what is called a runaway process and gets sort of stuck in an endless loop.
If it is a free standing item then it might be triggered by AppleScript on the Mac. (or be modified in some way)
Again if the Script (normally written with a upper case S) is not perfect it can cause problems.

Flash Player Not Installing Properly?
Hello, I am having trouble with Flash. I use Firefox (latest version), and was notified this morning that I needed to update my Flash version/plugin/whatever. I go to update, and it installed just fine (i.e. the install did not give me any error messages). However, I check the version on Adobe's site and the Firefox plugin checker, and it still not only says that I still need to update, but the Adobe website still says I have an old version.
I tried uninstalling/reinstalling the whole Flash program, restarting my computer, and restarting my browser, but they still say that I need to update.
So what is wrong/going on? Adobe's website is saying that Flash is running, and all websites (YouTube, various Flash-based games and items on art sites, Flash-based games, etc) that I suppose would run on Flash are running just fine, so why is Firefox saying I still need to update? Why is the Adobe site saying that I still have an old version?
Here are some screenshots, if it helps explain my problem better:

EDIT: Also further information, this all started at about 8:30 AM on the East Coast. Also, I did try going to Adobe themselves for help, but the chat support was no help; they told me to use the phone support, which, OF COURSE, costs money that I do not have. How do i set up flash player to run only the audio files
How do I set up the flash player to run only audio files? Every time i set up I tunes to work,, the flash player takes over all files that it wants and I cannont see my files for work. I want it to only auto run audio files and not my GIF's, & TIFF files.
Well I had a terrible brain burp!,, I ment to say Quick Time. In my business I have to go back at times and view TIFF files. Every since I installed ITunes on my new computer... Quick Time opens the files where MS Photo Viewer used to, and I can only see page 1 in Quick Time. This is a problem for me as the only way I can view my TIFF files is to save them to my desk top and then open them in MS Photo Viewer. Then I have to delete them after viewing.. I view files several times a day and this extra step has become a very larg pain in the fanny.
