HELP!!! FLV Multiple Language Tracks

I am putting together a presentation with 2 pieces of video
that are the same, but 1 is in english and 1 is in italian. How do
I setup it up to where they both play at the same time (English
1st), yet when a button is hit, the Italian clip is active and the
english is not. I do not want them to stop, in case the button is
hit again and it goes back to English.
I understand there is a way for CUE Points and Multiple
Language Tracks. How would I set that up? Do I just need one FLV
without Audio and 2 seperate MP3's (English - Italian)?
What else does anyone need to know.

+Record voiceovers in each desired language or create text tracks to use as subtitles. Save each alternate track as a self-contained movie, and put all the alternates together in a single folder.+

+Open the movie and choose Window > Show Movie Properties.+
+In the Properties window, select a sound or text track and click Other Settings.+

Multiple Language tracks

Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place to ask this question but I'll give it a shot. I need to add an additional language track to a video I am making. I'm editing in FC Express 3. The situation is that I am creating a wedding video and have English and Vietnamese language audio recordings of the ceremony. I need to have an option on the DVD to choose the Vietnamese language audio track. Is that even possible with FCE and iDVD? I couldn't find any info in either help file. If it's not possible, any suggested workarounds? Thanks

You can't do a direct language selection per se in either FCE or iDVD. You would need DVD Studio Pro to do that.
The workaround is to export 2 different movies from FCE - one in English, the other in Vietnamese. Import them both into iDVD and put them on the initial menu of your DVD project. Of course, you always have to be aware of the 2-hour limitation for single-layer DVD media.

How can I export multiple language tracks?

I have a MOV video with two language tracks, English and German. I want to export the file to another format (m4v) or import to iTunes.
Whenever I export, I lose one of the audio tracks. How can I export both Audio Tracks?
The video is H.264, 688 x 416, Millions
BOTH audio tracks are AAC, Stereo (L, R) 48.000 kHz
In the properties window, I selected (enabled) both audio tracks before exporting. And, in the "other settings" tab of properties, I set the language for each track, and I listed the "alternate" as the other language track.
Also when I imported the MOV into iMovie it only had the English track.

Whenever I export, I lose one of the audio tracks. How can I export both Audio Tracks?
Have not personally tried this, but you might try the Free HandBrake app. I have loaded a file with one active and one inactive audio track and found that HandBrake does see and allow you to select one, the other, or both tracks for processing. Did not actually bother to convert the tracks since they were already AAC and could be added individually to an MOV file using QT 7 "Pro" software.
Also when I imported the MOV into iMovie it only had the English track.
I believe iMovie "Finder" level import only allows one audio and/or one video track per file. You can, of course, extract the non-included track as an audio file, and add it to an iMovie project separately. However, be advised, that the audio tracks will be flattened/dowmixed to a single track during export which may not be what you want.

Watching multiple audio track movies on Apple TV. PLEASE HELP...

Hi, I hope somebody can help since I haven't been able to find any answer to this.
When I rip a movie (with Handbrake) from one of my DVDs to place it into my iTunes library, I have the possibility to chose to extract different Audio Language Tracks. In fact, once the rip is done, I have a movie in iTunes that has two tracks (2 languages) in my case English and Spanish.
Now, when I sync it to AppleTV, I always can only watch the movie in english. I don't want to lose the english track, but I do want to watch the movie in Spanish on my ATV.
Is there a way to chose the Audio for multiple track movies on ATV? (ITunes does let you chose).

Because it wasn't devised with you ripping DVDs in mind, and certainly since Take 2.0 update the focus is on rentals.
It would be logical to offer multiple soundtracks/subtitles etc, but they would add to download size which will be an issue for some people - seems more likely they would offer soundtrack options other than Englisg outside US - ie choose English or another language to rent but not both.

Help with using multiple languages using "aspx?lang="

Hello all I am working on a project on an IIS server and the admin wants to use the "?lang=" to select which pages load up depending on what URL the user types into the browser.
I am unfamiliar with how this works and after a few searches I am not finding any info that explains it for someone unfamiliar with it.
Could someone be so kind as to link me to a good tutorial or simply explain the basics of how this works so that I could research it more myself?

Selecting a language through a URL is just one aspect of a content management system. You should research/google 'content management system' to find a CMS (or create a CMS) that supports multiple languages.
Or do you already have a CMS?

Hi newbie_r and welcome to the RH community.
You don't say what version of RH you have but the latest
version (RH7) has Unicode Support that allows you to produce help
files in most languages. The exceptions are mainly the right to
left languages (e.g. arabic, hebrew).
As far as the template is concerned, you can assign any text,
image to a template and it will be applied to any topics you assign
the template to.
If you haven't already, I'd download the trial version and
experiment a bit. Set up a template with what you want and then
create a couple of simple help files containing just a few topics
each. That will reassure you of RH7s capabilities in this
area.

Multiple language support help

I have a large application with more than several hundred sub VIs. Now, we want to modify it to provide multiple language support, for example, Chinese or French. I have searched the forum and have some clue, but still cannot fit our needs.
1. from NI site, one method is to export string and import string. But for several hundred sub VIs, do I need to to this several hundred times for each VI? since in our application, some strings are hardcoded.
2. using excel sheet, everytime read excel file and modify the contorl properities. I am not sure how this works in details.
Any advice or suggestion will be appreciated. Thanks.

"You do not need to have a specific language
version of LabVIEW, such as French, German, or Japanese, to be able to
enter display text in that language. LabVIEW supports single and double
byte characters, but it does not support bidirectional scripts (such as
Arabic or Hebrew).
If you want to display text in multi-byte
character sets (such as Japanese, Chinese, or Korean) in LabVIEW, you
only need an operating system of the appropriate language or an
MBCS-enabled operating system with an Input Method Editor (IME) for the
corresponding language. Also, there are several commercially available
language kits that you can add on to the operating system."

Multiple language / subtitle tracks?

m4v files can have multiple audio and subtitle tracks, I have been told. But when I stream these from my iTunes to my ATV2, I cannot select subtitles, not even turn them on/off. Am I missing something?

Subtitles come up fine for me on ATV2. I also use Handbrake (v0.95) and got my subtitles by chosing the non-Bitmap English Text closed captions.
I've seen some movies have multiple bitmap tracks and wonder if those are for scenes where a character is speaking a foreign tongue (like when a monster talks to Han Solo).

HELP!! Multiple Video Tracks

I need to know if you are able to have multiple video tracks and once they are all lined up in the sequence you want, am I able to cut from one video track to another just like you would edit from scene to scene with 1 video track (like in Imovie)? I need to edit a dance recital with video from 3 cameras, so i need to line up the videos so they are all in sync as far as time is concerned, then switch from one video track to another without seeing the other tracks playing at the same time...in essence "mask" the other video tracks I don't want to see, but keeping all three video tracks in time and sync'd.
If yes....then I'm buying Final Cut...if no...I need something else!

You can do it though FCP does it more efficiently.
It is a bit fiddly in FCE though Piero's free PIP filter makes it a bit easier:-

Subtitles in multiple languages on iTunes

I have a movie file that has subtitles in multiple languages, however, when played in iTunes 11, only one option is available. How do I enable the other subtitle tracks?

Thanks, I left feedback...and I totally understand - what you've mentioned is nothing I haven't already heard before.
But as it was noted on the other thread you linked, this issue should've been resolved via electronic distribution (aside from media licensing), although it appears that I can't see a justification for an Asian country to have all the English content - if we can't get the other content too.
Actually, i'm not even bothered that we can't get Asian films and content, it's more surrounding the question of why the things like subtitles are stripped off our content when it might actually help people who live here to enjoy content available from a legal source. After all Australia is a multicultural hotpot.
By comparison, other Asian countries as used in my example really only have a few immigrants, but most are usually just understanding Asian languages.

Identifying multiple audio tracks on Apple TV

I like to add the director's commentary tracks to TV shows and movies I encode for my iTunes library. Until recently, usually I've been able to identify them through my Apple TV by holding down "select" on the remote, going into "audio" and then seeing things like:
English (Stereo)
English (Surround)
English (Commentary)
but now the same file would show something like:
English
English (Surround)
English
iTunes still shows the audio track descriptions and I noticed that there is some change in the whether anything at all appears in brackets after the language name when you play around with the Dolby Digital setting in the Options pane on Apple TV, so I'm wondering if I've somehow changed a setting? Can anyone help me out here?

I've been able to do this by changing the language on the second track to something other than English. I use Quicktime Pro to open the file with multiple audio tracks and hit cmd+J. The screen that comes up shows each of the tracks in the Quicktime file. Click on the 2nd audio track and under one of the property tabs ("other" or "presentation" or something like that)you can choose a different language. Just pick one and save. Add the video to iTunes again and re-sync. Now you should be able to choose "french" (or whatever you designated your second audio to be) when you hold play.
If that doesn't work, there is one other step but I can't remember if it is necessary: In QT Pro, in addition to changing the language, you may need to assign the 2nd audio track as an "alternate track" to the video. You do that in the "cmd+J" screen as well

With Pages 5.2 how can i use multiple language types in a single document

My Macbook Air Has the version 10.9.3
I'm used to work with the old version of Page.
But now I am using the new version of Pages 5.2 (1860).
I want to know with the new version how do I use an multiple language types in a single document option.
In the old version of Pages I was using Inspector -> Text -> "More" tab -> Language: British Inglese.
In the new Pages 5.2 I do not know how to do it

It's not possible to tag text with multiple languages in Pages 5. Go back to Pages 4, which should still be in you iWork folder.
For the whole doc in Pages 5, use Edit > Spellling and Grammar > Show Spelling and Grammar.

How do I create multiple midi tracks each with separate external synthesizer sound

Mac Pro OS 10.10.2, Logic Pro 10.1.1, FireFace 800 (updated), Roland XP-30 synthesizer/keyboard, Mackie mixer.
XP-30 analog output to Mackie, FireFace monitor to FireFace main inputs and FireFace out to Mackie.
What I can't get to work: Sound output for monitoring as I record on each of several midi tracks, each with access to my banks/programs.
Logic automatically set up the multi-instrument and created 16 tracks, visible in the mixer window. I have entered custom banks for the XP-30 and they are working.
Mt problem is two parts. First, my last experience was with Logic Pro 7 way back.
Problem two is that when I create midi tracks (except for the first one I created on channel 1) by control-clicking on one of the tracks in the mixer window I get no sound for monitoring. I can see the green monitor indicator for the track shows midi data incoming. I just can't hear it. It's as if there is no designated output. I have checked audio preferences and see the FireFace as input and output device. If i change the channel to channel 1, I get the sound, but then I have two tracks on channel 1 which doesn't work for designating unique sounds to each track.
I can select "All" for channel and get monitored sound on several tracks; however, they then all play the same sound, of course.
i can create midi tracks (either instrument or external) using the plus icon, but no matter how i set them up that way, they do not allow me access to my banks/programs.
In logic Pro 7 it was no problem creating multiple midi tracks, each with a different sound assigned to it. In Logic Pro 10, I am baffled regarding how to accomplish this and get it all to work as simply and nicely as I was able to with #7.

I think rendering the audio has to do with the way I import to FCE. This is how I bring video into FCE because it seems to be the only way I can get it to work. I run my video camera through a digital coverter which runs a firewire into my Mac. I then import the video into imovie. After that is done, I do a drag and drop of the imovie into FCE. I have to render the audio because it just beeps if I don't when I play it back in FCE. I tried using the video capture in FCE but it keeps telling me it is unable to capture (my gues is the cameras are too old and the digital converter in not compatable with FCE or Mac). So once the video and audio footage is in FCE, if I click the green button on the left hand side, my rendered audio becomes a red line. However, I can click the same button on the upper video portion, and it drops the video out so I can see video clips on the lower levels and not just the first one on top. So that's why I render the audio. I can see all twelve audio tracks already. Tom- would making the change you suggest still help? Great book by the way also.

Best practice in working with Adobe forms in multiple languages

We have to provide access to some Adobe Interactive Forms in both English and French, some of them from Web Dynpro application(s), some of them as callable objects from Guided Procedures.
1- We know for sure that we can have two copies of each form, one in English and one in French but that implies duplicating the FormCalc and Javascript code behind.
2- Another way if to modify in javascript all labels, captions using some javascript i.e. If lang = "E" then "My label" else "Mon étiquette" . It would work but it is not very efficient.
Is someone here has experience with this type of situation and would be willing to share his experience with me?

For Adobe Forms in multiple language you can use include text solution also . Within this solution you need to add a language parameter in your interface and then retrieve the include text in the language value ( not current language ) . Personnaly i used a lot this solution with Smartforms text .
Also i used dictionnary text for text linked with data dictionnary element . For this there is standard function module in SAP .
Anothers way is in the SFP editor you can translate your form as in SAPSCRIPT .
