Help for a new newbie

i've just tried to compile my very first Java program, and i get the following error:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: saluton
i have no idea what this means, if its any help i'm running win 2000
i'd be greatfull of anyhelp given

defines the ClassPath. Suppose those two .class files are stored in, say,
c:\usr\Stu000 and suppose your current directory is somewhere else, say, you're
roaming around in c:\tmp.
From within that c:\tmp directory, you can do this:java -cp c:\usr\Stu000 Salutonand it will simpy work. BTW, you can define more than one directory as the ClassPath,
you simply supply more dirs and separate them with a semi-colon. The Java
virtual machine will look in all those directories for the specified .class file to run.

I have been asked to set up a Labview program to graph and log
thermocouple temperature measurements from two Keithley 2001 Multimeters
and a DC voltage from HP 34420A nano Volt/Micro Ohm Meter. All three are
instruments are IEEE interfaced to a Windows 98 machine running Labview
(version 5.0 I think.) I have a couple of weeks to get the job done.
The problem is that I have never used Labview. I am an experienced C,
Fortran, BASIC programmer but this graphical system is completely new.
My situation is complicated because I am told the experienced person who
was originally going to set this up left under bad circumstances and
took many of the manuals. I would greatly appreciate any and all help I
can get.

Audio cable help for the new AppleTV.

Audio cable help for the new AppleTV.
Currently I have an original AppleTV with audio RCA plugs to mini plug into my BOSE speakers.
The 2nd Gen AppleTv has a Toslink input. I've looked at cables of Toslink to optical mini. Will this cable work? The optical mini part I'm not sure of what it is.

If I understand your question correctly, you want to connect your Apple TV2 to your Bose system using a mini plug.
You will need an optical to digital coax RCA converter (find it on Ebay about $15), then you can connect your mini cable. Here is a link to one I recently bought on Ebay: http://fwd4.me/nrQ

Help for a new MAC user

I just made the move from PC to MAC. I have and need to use my Office 2003. Can someone help a newbie to install it on my new Imac?

If that Office 2003 is for Windows, it will not install on OS X. The only way to get a Windows application on a Mac is using something like Boot Camp (Parallels, VMWare Fusion) and then a Windows system as well.

Need help for my new iPad

I was wondering what kind of iPad case do u guys have? I just got my new iPad. So excited about it. Now I’m in the market for a nice iPad case for it. I got a Yoobao V.4 and it's perfect for me.
The reasons I chose the Yoobao were, it provides a few angles of adjustment, which is useful for when I am using the iPad in bed.
It also has a angle especially for while typing on the iPad.
The Yoobao is made of real leather and looks very stylish and in my opinion does justice to the nice design of the iPad.
The Yoobao does not have a large surround that encroaches on to almost the edges of the iPad screen, which can in some cases, make moving apps to another screen or other function which involves moving to the extreme edge of the screen more difficult.
The Yoobao cases are available on EBay and on Amazon, but mostly in the US. I did manage to find a UK eBay seller.

I'm a new wireless user and I have been having some trouble with my new router. Before I go into details, I have tried looking all over the internet for a fix I could do myself, but have had little luck. Also as I am new to this all, I don't really know that much so, explain it all very simply.
Ok so, for normal day to day web surfing (Youtube, downloading files and so on) it's fine, perfect actually. Fast and simple. But i'm a gamer. And this is where my router has problems (I think it's the router?). I play TF2 and L4D2, and I noticed some lag spikes in TF2 a few weeks ago. Looked around and found a WLAN optimizer. Installed it and TF2 worked fine. But for L4D2, not so. Last few nights I have seen huge lag spikes. I'm talking about over 2000 ping. It's random so it's not Vista's wireless searching.
I can't play L4D2 anymore and i'm worried that TF2 is going to be like this too now (I haven't played it for a while so I don't know). I really need some help here.
Like I said I don't know if it's the router or if it's my wireless card (I'm on a desktop so I had to get a card installed) or if it's Comcast. I do remember when I was hooked into a hardline I didn't have these issues. So obviously wireless is the issue.

Just to verify, are you experiencing it with 1 wireless computer? Perhaps, you can follow the steps below for the wireless adapter.
1) Open network connections
2) Wireless Network Connection -> Properties
3) Configure -> Advanced
4) List of changes:
Roam Tendency: Aggressive
Power Save Mode: Disabled
Minimum Power Consumption: Disabled
IBSS 54g(tm) Mode: 54g - Performance
AP Compatibility Mode: Higher Performance
Roaming Decision: Optimize Distance
5) Press OK, disable/enable your wireless connection and you're good to go!
NOTE: Windows Wireless Zero Configuration is making a spike lag every 1 minute exactly, we are talking here about wireless card problem which is causing lag every 8-10 seconds exactly. If you have lag every 1 minute, you have to stop Windows Wireless Zero Configuration service. Help for a java Newbie please!

Hey guys I'm writing this program for my Java 1 class I can't seem to get it complie. This is the first time we've worked with building out own classes. And I have a feeling that I'm doing something small and silly. If someone could just take a look at it I'd be more than happy.
This is the Class we had to write it has 4 different fields of "employee information" This one looks fine.

Help for a new Xperia Z1 owner

Just recieved my new Z1 and coming from iOS to Android is a daunting experience lol
Can anyone help me with 2 things I just can't seem to figure out?
1) the date/time clock on the home screen seems to get cut off. It shows P instead of PM and the same happens with the month is says Decem instead of December. How do I fix that?
2) How do I disable the share to facebook option for Music Unlimited? It shows the box is greyed out in settings and I can't change it, help!

1. I haven't seen that myself, but delete the widget > press and hold the widget until it vibrates then drag it to the bottom center (trashcan) > long press anywhere on the screen > widget > clock
2. You can't disable it, facebook and twitter are deeply integrated, if you log in to fb it won't be grey out

Hi there... first off, I am brand new to this forum and if there is a better place to post this, please let me know....
I am going to switch form my Dell desktop and laptop to a new 2.8 ghz imac (waiting for Oct. 26th). My interests are mostly web, pictures, learning to create dvds... However, i absolutely love MS Flight Sim X and want to be able to play it via BootCamp. Am I going to be sorely dissapointed with the new imac's performance? I have read lots of opinions on the video card (including if it is a 2600 xt in disguise). Any tips/advice would be appreciated... again, is there a better area to post this query?

Help for a Mac newbie please!

I just got my lovely MacBook Pro yesterday... and could use some help with these 2 problems...
1 - on my Windows PC I have a VPN connection to 1 of my clients. When I tried to set it up on the Mac it's asking for an IPSEC shared secret? Is there any way to disable this requirement, or does my client have to set a key on his server?
2 - I am having a problem connecting to my windows laptop through my home network...if I enable the Guest account on windows XP, the MacBook connects no problem. If however [as I really want to] I try to connect as a "proper" user with username and password, the Mac keeps telling me the username or password is wrong...which it definitely isn't!
My thought is regarding the "domain"...I don't have one set up at home...just a workgroup called "home"...so when I try to login I am only typing in the username...the tooltip for the usernae field says domain\username...do I need to put anything here for domain, and if I do, what...as there isnt one!

Help for a new mac-garage band user-m audio pro setting imput

garage band help says click on preferences, but the preferences menu only will come up at start of project--then can only set audio output to m audio pro-audio imput is blank--so internal mike is usued not imput from m audio.
Somehow I managed to get it to work for one song--headphones from m audio montored tracks-guitar recorded using amp sims--been trying for hours to repeat that but only internal mike now will work.

You should be able to open garageband preferences
anytime. Are you sure your looking under Garageband >
Preferences.
And what interface are you using, is it the Fast
Tracks Pro?
Yes fast tracks pro--I finnaly was able to go to preferences when I exited garage band and openend it up again,but when I was working on the song and clicked on preferences it would not come up

Safari display help for a Mac newbie!

Hi everyone,
I have never used Macs before so I hope this question isn't too ridiculous...!
When using Safari, all the web pages I open are either half or three-quarters the size of the screen even when I use the little plus (maximize) button in the top left hand corner.
Only one page has ever fitted the full screen. Is there any way to make all pages opened with safari full-screen size? I've fiddled around with the settings but to no avail...
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

The easiest way I have found to do this is to high light and drag the following java script to your bookmarks menu bar. Name it any thing you want. I called mine re-size. Click it and it will expand the window full page. It works with Safari 2, safari 3 beta, FireFox, Omni-wed, and SeaMonkey.
