Help for Lyrics in Score problems.

Words will not stay in alignment with notes above them, when the next word is added. If I try to correct or adjust the position the notes will then move away. If I ignore the movement I can finish up with some measures two or three times the required size. Also the cursor disappears after "tabbing" the entries, forcing re-use of the lyric box quite often and it is completely impossible to insert words with more than one syllable which would need to be hyphenated. What am I doing wrong? or is it the program at fault? I used to have no problem with Notator on an Atari, and other programs on a PC.
At least I don't have hackers with my Mac Pro.

I'm afraid you're going about this all wrong. And you're missing the entire point of the lyric entry function, which is to apply/assign/connect each word or syllable to individual notes. You don't enter in an entire line of lyrics at once -- you enter them one at a time. Let's take the lyric, "Stars never shone so bright" as seen in this screenshot:

So let's say you typed in the entire line at once -- as you'd like to do. How would Logic know which note each word or syllable is supposed to be attached to? Should it magically figure out that you want the word "stars" to be sung over two notes instead of one?

I dunno, but I sense a lot of frustration in your posts, and I think it has to do with not having read the manual. Short of that, I've already explained to you in my several posts how lyric entry works, and how you can make it work.
But just to be a bit more complete about it, you don't have to drag drag drag drag drag the lyric entry 'symbol' to the score each time. You drag it ONCE, and then hit TAB after you type in the first lyric/syllable. TAB advances the lyric entry function to the next note. And so on.
OR, if you mess up and lyric entry stops, either:
• drag the lyric symbol again and continue, OR...
• assign the pencil tool to the CMD key. Hold CMD and select "lyric". If you mess up, simply hold CMD and pencil in a new lyric entry start point.
Basic techniques. RTFM. But if you're not willing to accept these simple paradigms then you should probably look to some other software.

First try a restore from backup
If problem still occurs try a restore to factory defaults/new Pod.
If still occurs likely a hardware problem and an appoitment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

I have a charge on my itunes account that I did not authorize. Finding help for this type of problem from Apple or itunes is impossible. Who do I contact to get this charge taken off my account?

The entire Apple website and the itunes website is competely non-helpful for resolving problems. They should make their site equally as unfriendly when it comes to enticing you to buy their products.

You could simply type "Contact itunes support" into the google search bar. This would give you the link to contact itunes support.
Or you could just click the word Support at the top of this page, then click the link under Contact Apple Support.

HELP FOR SOME MAIL app PROBLEMS IN MAVERICKS!

As many of you, I was having great difficulty opening Apple's Mail app in Mavericks. The type of problem I was having is this:
When trying to open Mail for the first time in Mavericks, I would get the message that the database needed to be upgraded; the process would start, but Mail would become unresponsive. The progress bar stopped in the middle and only a forced quit could close the application.
I noticed the following:
The actual files and folders in User/Library/Mail/V2, remained unchanged from the time before my attempt to open Mail, and for me no other changes were made.
I took the opportunity to move a copy of the V2 Folder to my Desktop for safekeeping. Trying to open Mail without this folder just caused the app to ask me to designate my accounts anew, which I had no intention of doing.
I then tried adding back items into the empty V2 folder. Adding back all of the mail accounts and mailboxes except for the Mail Data folder had no effect, except that a new Mail Data folder was created, and the Mail app still asked me to designate my accounts anew.
I then added back the first half of my old Mail Data folder contents and allowed the copy process to overwrite the files in the newMail Data folder; there was still a problem.
Finally, I took the remaining files and one folder from my old Mail Data folder and added that to the new Mail Data folder. When I was asked to relpace matching folders and files I did that and whatever was left untouched by the file copy, I let stay there.
The Yellow taged files were the first half I transferred back.
As long as you have a protected copy of your Mail folder, you can try variations of the above. This is what worked for me, and I hope it is helpful to some or all of you.

Finally I've figured out what happened for not syncing anymore what I did on the Mail.app mailbox of my Professional Exchange account.
So, the problem was the MailTags plugin: http://www.indev.ca/MailTags.html
I don't know if it was after the Trial Period that went rogue, or this has happen since the install, but when I've uninstalled it, it worked just fine.
Hope this help someone with the same problem.

TAB key for lyrics in score editor not working anymore!

I have been editing music for score printing in LOGIC for ever. Suddenly the TAB key won't take me to the next note, but finishes the inputting. I never get beyond the first syllable! I have even disabled the key command for TAB in other editors to make sure they don't clash - but no change. Can anyone help?

Have you tried without memory card to se if same result in case of possible corruption?
Suggest that you backup essential data with Nokia Suite and return device to "Out of box" state by keying in *#7370# followed by 12345 (default Nokia lock code unless altered by user).

Need help for G4 Powerbook ATA problem

Hey, when I came to turn it on it didnt load to the home screen. I had a friend help me run the diagnostic (i'm not very computer literate) and said that I had a problem with ATA, which could either mean my hard drive or the motherboard controller or something like that. Do I need to buy a new laptop?

It is easiest to test the HDD. You can run Apple Hardware Test extended tests in a loop (hold down Control + L during tests). Let it run for a while as intermittent issues may take several hours to surface. A surer way is to remove the HDD from the computer, install it in a firewire enclosure connect it to the computer, or another firewire Mac and see if it shows up, if it can be formatted or if it can boot the computer. If it can, then either the ribbon cable or the ATA Controller is at fault. The ribbon cable can be checked by replacing it with a known working cable or trying it in another similar Mac and seeing if it works there. In terms of the ATA Controller, I don't know how to test it. You may need the expert services of Apple or a repair facility that does testing.

How to find help for Apple Mail password problem -- using CLEAR/Verizon

I've established an alias e-mail address through Apple Mail. I've lost the password. Apple "Help" tells me to ask internet provider. But I only have a cell phone so Verizon doesn't allow me to ask my question. I use CLEAR to connect through Verizon.
This is confusing. I don't know where to go with this issue.

I am making a query through SQ01 to find out how many damage codes created for a particular notification type are not being used .
In infoset I used QMEL which lists problem code group and problem code and as a bonus we also get codegroup text . When I test this query , I get damage code group and code used in all the notifications . I want solution for the following
1)How to list only distinct damage codegroup and damage code (Not per notification wise)
2)Which second table I have to use to get problem code short text
3)Which table I have to add in infoset and how join has to be created so that I get list of Damage codegroups and codes not used in notification .

Help for ipod nano 2g problem..

Whenever battery life is almost at the low, i can't hear music and when i play the bar doesn't move ( the bar that shows music time) and it keeps moving to next song.... so I thought it was earphone but wen i brought back to home and connected to my computer and music plays fine again on ipod.. should i take it to the apple store for fix?? By the way on low battery, its only music that i can't play because i can't hear the sound other features works fine

Can I get some help for a really weird problem? Song always skips to beginning.

I have a song on my iPod that always plays the beginning part of the song, no matter where I am in the song. If the song is 3 minutes long and I go to 1:50 on the time meter it will still play the beginning part of the song, even though the time meter says it's at 1:50. I've tried playing the song the whole way through without skipping but it still hasn't fixed the problem. The song works fine in iTunes, it's just affected when I play it on my iPod.

I'm fairly certain this is a Lion issue, but I'll post in the MacBook forum as well.
