Help for PDF saving from AI

Hello,I am using Adobe Illustrator CS6 (on Mac os x 10.9.2) and I have a problem with PDF saving.
I am sharing some screencapt. about problem.
I hope you can help me.
I am creating PDF file with "Save as" option in File upper menu in Adobe Illustrator.
But results not correct my original AI file.
Some Transparency,blending etc... are damaging in new created PDF file.

it's complicated....when I open with Preview.app on Mac os x my PDF file doesn't look correctly ....
when I open with Adobe Acrobat Pro; my PDF file looking correctly but my proof machine (I am working on label printing company...) doesn't print correctly...seems like Preview.app...

Normally, completely removing old versions and reinstalling the latest version will reassociate all applicable extensions for the program, but it appears to have failed in your case. There may be something else going on with your machine that is producing this behavior. You probably need to investigate that. But what you can do to make sure the defaults are correct is click on the start orb and select 'Default Programs.' Then select 'Associate a file type or protocol with a program.' From the list of file types, select each of the following in turn: acrobatsecuritysettings, fdf, pdf, pdfxml, pdx, xdp, and xfdf. If its default program is not Adobe Reader, click on the Change Program button and select Acrobat Reader from the list (you may need to expand the lower section to display more programs than it initially provides). If Adobe Reader does not show up in the list, you will have to browse for it. It should be located in C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 10\Reader\AcroRd32.exe or C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Reader 10\Reader\AcroRd32.exe.
This method is safer than manually editing the Root\Classes in the registry.

I encountered the same problem and tried doing what Suzanne did by right clicking the file and saving it to the computer first and then opening it.
And then after double clicking the saved file windows prompted whether I want to open it with the newly installed Adobe reader 9.0 or with Microsoft Word. I chose the Adobe Reader 9.0 and clicked on the check box asking whether we always want to open this type of file using this program.
I managed to open the file and best of all is after that I was able to directly double click on the pdf email attachments to open it.
Seems like that we need to let windows associate the file type with the program first.

I want to give password for PDFs generated from WEBI so that when a person receives scheduled pdf report in his mail,he gives a password to open it.pls let me know how that can be acheived?

This functionality is currently not supported by SAP Business Objects for WebI reports.Password protection is something that is done from the Adboe side. Kindly refer SAP note 1302401 to verify the same.

Since I am new to HCM process and I need guidance for the same.
We have developed HCM PDF SAP interactive form (i.e. a PDF form on Web Portal) and now I need to archive the PDF Form created into External Location for future use.
Since this PDF Form contains data only when created or when the user entered the data and it would be lost as soon as we close the form.
SO before closing the form, I need this PDF to archive into some other location so that I have a copy of that.
Moreover, this PDF cant be saved in local system hard drive
Can anyone help me how do it??? What configurations need to be maintained for this?

Can a PDF saved from cs6 be opened in cs5 with layers intact?

I have a client who insists on receiving final files as PDFs saved as Illustrator Default with Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities ticked. This wasn't an issue until I upgraded to cs6. In cs6 I'm saving the native file as cs5, and then saving as PDF with the following options:
The client is able to open the PDF in cs5 but the layers are all flattened into a single layer. Is there way to Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities for any version other than cs6?

The only way is to downsave the AI file to a CS5 and export from there. There are too many changes from CS5 to CS6 for this not to happen.

Need help for record deletion from custom table

Hi friends
I have to write a custom program which will be generic to delete any table record with date field.
This program needs to be generic (should be able to delete records from any custom table) in nature with selection screen parameters as:
Table Name and Number of Days prior to which records are deleted, both mandatory.
Program Flow:
1.     From number of days calculate date before which records are deleted, ( current date u2013 no. of days = past date).
2.     Custom table have date field, delete records prior to that date.
3.     Program may be scheduled for background job, put default values for both fields. No. of days should not be less than 60.
4.     Classical Report output with number of records deleted.
My query is how will I know the name of the Date field so that I can write a DELETE query.
If I use 'DDIF_FIELDINFO_GET' it gives me all field names but how to filter out?

I have added field on the selection screen as p_fieldname and got the F4 help for it , so that the user will get the field name run time as per the table name.
Now I am facing problem while writing the DELETE query.
I wrote like
DELETE (fp_tab)
where (fp_fieldname) LE date
It is not working. I also tried with taking a string to concatenate fp_fieldname, LE and date to l_string
when I write like this:
DELETE (fp_tab)
where (l_string) , sy-subrc is getting 4 and no records are getting deleted.
I do not understand where the dynamic Delete is failing??

I am trying to create a single PDF file from a group of Outlook .msg files. I need the attachments to be preserved and I am hoping that the individual .msg messages will be separated / bookmarked.
I am trying to remove large quantities messages from my mailbox and store them elsewhere as a record of correspondence.

Try running Repair Disk on the external drive.
With the drive connected go to Applications / Utilities / Disk Utility and double click DU.
In the left column click to select the name of the external (the item indented to the right).
Click First Aid.
Click Repair Disk.
Unless you get a message the drive cannot be repaired, you should run Repair Disk again and again until you see green text saying the disk was repaired.
Quit DU.
If you get the message that the disk cannot be repaired, you will need a more powerful repair utility.

-> I have a form with only one BUTTON.
-> I have a REPORT with only one USER PARAMETER 'P_1' which is a number.
-> I have only one query INSIDE the report. It is "SELECT * FROM EMP WHERE EMPNO = :P_1'
-> I added the report to form in the OBJECT NAVAVIGATOR of FORM and the NAME OF REPORT is 'REOPRT4'

Can't open PDFs saved from Safari

Hi!
Suddenly any PDFs I save from Safari can't be opened. Said it's corrupted. Also I can't search the PDFs opened in Safari. All these didn't happen before. What can I do? Many thanks for any help!

Go to Your HD/Library/Internet Plug-ins/ and remove to trash the "AdobePDFViewer.plugin".
Open Safari and a .pdf and it should now open with Preview in a Safari/Browser window.

How to update metadata (e.g. keywords, author) for pdf created from spool

My requirement is that smart-form spool will be converted into PDF and will be saved on to application server. Now, a third party tool will read the data and print it. I want to update properties of this PDF like author, keywords. These properties can be seen when we save PDF on desktop and right-click on it.
Please provide pointers to address this issue. Any input will be highly appriciated.

Its good that u pasted the complete log file. In your environment you have to run this upgrade tool only once from any of the middle tier.
And with respect to your error that u got in precheck is quite simple. All u have to do is just run this script from by connecting to portal schema using sqlplus.
Run dropupg.sql
Location-------- /raid/product/OraHome_1/upgrade/temp/portal/prechktmp/dropupg.sql
Later you re-run the upgrade tool and let me know the status.
