Help for using kotoeri built-in Japanese input system

Hi,
I have been using kotoeri for a while, but I still feel I am missing a lot of useful functions.
I am using a French localized version of OS X 10.7.
The point is that I cannot find any help in either French or English. As soon as I switch input to hiragana or katakana, the kotoeri section of the keyboard menu is displayed in Japanese. Selecting "help" takes me to a Japanese version of the kotoeri help. The Kotoeri preference menu is also all Japanese.
Using the general system "Help" and entering "kotoeri" in search field, I do get a list of answers in English but if I click on one of them, this again takes me to a help page in Japanese.
Any suggestion?

I tested your suggestion on another user account and found that everything worked fine, irrespective of whether the system was set to English or French. But…
I realized that the difference between the two accounts was that Japanese was in second rank (i.e. before English) in the account which gave me problems.
So the solution is to leave Japanese as #3, after French and English.
I guess the reason is that there is no French localization for kotoeri help or preferences. Therefore the systems picks up whatever comes next in the list of preference for languages.

Kotoeri (japanese input system) does not allow input

I've been using Kotoeri to type in Japanese and it's been working just fine until recently. Now when I select Kotoeri and tried to type, the cursor disappears and what I type does not appear on the screen. If I type ten letters, one or two of those letters may show up, or none at all. Most times it freezes for a brief period. It's not just Japanese characters that are not appearing. Normally, two alphabets convert to one japanese letter, but even alphabets cannot be entered when I'm using Kotoeri. (Sorry - it's really hard for me to explain). My system software is up to date, and I've tried restarting but it didn't solve the problem. Any tips?

Great! I went to the link, which described the problem I was having in a much better way, and I followed the steps described there. I'm new to mac and still don't understand how it worked, but it did Now my concern is I will use the strategy for any and all problems, but I imagine there got to be some risks when I delete "preference" files, right? Oh, and I thought I searched for similar topics before I posted my question, but couldn't come up with anything. I must've done something wrong there, too. So my apologies for posting redundant question. Thanks for your help and patience; it was much appreciated.

Kotoeri Kanji Problems (Japanese input)

Hi all, nice to meet you!
I've been having a problem with Kotoeri (specifically, the kanji input). I have been using kotoeri for months with no problems... but alll of a sudden, the kanji has simply stopped working. When I hit the space bar to change kana into kanji, i just hear an error noise and nothing happens. It has been like this for a few days; restarting doesn't help. Does anyone know what could be wrong? I can't think of anything I have changed in the past few weeks.
By the way, I am using a Macbook. And filevault is turned on, if that would change anything.

Hi, thanks for all of the help! But still no good...
It still takes a long time to load, and when I hit the space bar, an error sound shows. No kanji pops up anymore. I wish I could remember what I have changed recently that would make it do this...
Any other ideas?

How do I use the built-in audio input with AU Lab?

I just tried AU Lab for the first time, and I can't select an audio input.
The "Create New Document" window lets me choose "Built-in Output", but the pulldown for Input Source is greyed out. The area under the "Input" button says, "Audio Input Not Supported". How can it not support the built-in audio input? I even tried using SoundFlower to route the signal from the Line In (a small app) to the Input of AU Lab. AU Lab's display then shows two channels from Soundflower, but they are still greyed out.
All I want to do is get a signal from the built-in audio input routed to AU Lab so I can use AU effects to process the audio signal in real time. How do I do this?

They comes configured with your software. If you want to use, for example, Skype, you need to run the configuration wizard section.

Need help for using DPS

Hi All - I am new to DPS and have few questions to clarify.
I know DPS is Adobe tool for publishing digital content magazines to Tablet devices. What I want to know is – Is DPS is a desktop version of tool and can be installed like I did with CQ5.5 on my local machine?
I have requirement to do the integration between CQ(AEM) and DPS. I found some materials on Adobe site for integrating AEM5.6 (via Media Publisher) to DPS. I do see similar options in AEM5.5 under Tools > Cloud Services > Adobe Digital Publishing Suite. I did created a connection configuration using an Adobe Id. Now my questions are –In CQ 5.5. when I click the “Go to Adobe Digital Publishing Suite” (on
Cloud Services > Adobe Digital Publishing Suite page ) I go to the Adobe online site https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com/app.html#. Is this the actual DPS ?
On this above DPS online tool, Why the options “DPS App Builder For Mac, Analytics, Account Administration and Notifications” are disabled?
I tried to publish the sample Folio and Article from CQ Publication page http://localhost:4502/publishingadmin#/content/publications/geometrixx-media/geometrixx-un limited/2013/january but it gave some error and I don’t see them to be pushed to DPS Folio Producer folder on https://digitalpublishing.acrobat.com/app.html#. What I am doing wrong here?
I have CQ5.5 and what I can do with CQ available functionality in “Publication” (like Folio, Article)? Can I create a full magazine and publish it to DPS ?
If yes how can I see the published content on desktop without using InDesign CS6 DPS tools (Adobe Content Viewer)? (I don’t have tablet device for testing)?

Hi,
You can use Memory leak scenarios view in JavaProfiler for finding probable leaks in your application. Check out the Scenario view. You can run a scenario for your application, and it will show you all the instances that were allocated during scenario but were not garbage collected. You can then take Heap Snapshot and checkout all the objects that are reported as probable leak in your application. You can check out Incoming references of the concerned objects and check out what is holding back the instances from getting garbage collected.
I am unable to understand the other part of your question regarding not being able to get the URL matched after running the Java Profiler. Can you provide more details on that? Do you mean you are not able to browse to your application while JavaProfiler is running? Please provide details like which AppServer are you running, and was the server started completely from JavaProfiler before you tried accessing your application. If not please wait for server startup to complete before trying to access your application through browser.

Help for using camera raw in PSE 8/Bridge for Mac for the Canon 7D

Recently purchasing the Canon 7D, taking a few test photos in Raw, then trying to use Camera Raw in PSE8/Bridge for Mac is a problem. I cannot figure it out. Can anyone help this frustrated, novice computer user?

You need to update the camera raw plug-in for bridge and PSE 8 separately (they use two different copies). In Bridge, just go to Help>Updates which will install, I think, ACR 5.7, which works with your camera. (You can't update bridge beyond that version).
For PSE 8, go here, download the latest version and follow the instructions in the readme file.

Note that the directions may tell you that you can overwrite the old plug-in. That isn't true--you must remove it before putting the new one in there.

Nokia 6234 - Can't find easy to use help for using...

I have the 6234 (Vodafone South Africa).
Yes, I have read the User Guide, over and over and over, but I find that it really lacks proper "How-To's"
It tells you what you have to do, but NOT how to do it. It lacks in details, and as far as I am concerned, is not really "User Friendly".
I have always had Nokia's and found them easy to use. My last one was the 7250i. When sending a text message, in the "To" box, you could select the number by using the alphabet to select the name, ie, pressing 'J" brings up al the names beginning with "J".
But the 6234 doesn't have this. It has other options that really don't make much sense to me.
There are many more functions that I can't understand or implement.
So what I'm after is a much more "Step-By-Step" "Nokia 6234 for Dummies" type help. Help that is aimed at the "not technically minded".
If anyone can help, even just with their thoughts etc, I would be more than grateful.
Bear in mind that my location is South Africa - if this makes any difference or not, and am on Vodafone.

Personally I find the 6234 to be very easy to use but I can see why some people may struggle (My mother had difficulty with a 6233).
The guides in the link below may help you. They are for the 6233 but it all applies to the 6234 as they are the same phone in a different casing.

Is there a reason why no one uses the built in audio inputs on the Mac?

I'm curious.... I've heard various things - but the sound did seem okay to me when I recorded straight into the Mac's input in the past. So... what is the problem with the Mac's inputs and outputs and why does everyone buy a sound card/device instead?

It seems rather odd that Mac fans generally take pride in owning high quality (expensive) machines but are happy ignore poor audio inputs and outputs.
It has nothing to do w/ taking pride in owning high quality machines - you don't buy the Mac because it has great Analog/Digital conversion (it doesn't). You buy a mac because of its stability, its out of the box compatibility with the two most proficient, professional DAWs out there (Pro Tools and Logic), its easy integration with most hardware, the way it handles audio processing. . . the list goes on and on and on. I don't really have the time to go into the intricacies of high quality audio processing, but NO COMPUTER has it. If a computer did come built in with Apogee master clocking, A/D/D/A conversion, and high quality analog mic preamps, you might be looking at your normal computer plus about $15,000 (at least.) Your machine is there for stabile, consistent, day to day recording and audio processing (whether it be editing, mixing, mastering or all three), and you purchase external audio interfaces for the dedicated function that they are made for.
With audio interfaces comes expandability and flexibility that NO system has right out of the box.

and i call my class in when button press trigger
i have also imported java.lang.Exception for my exception handlers,i have no compile errors,but when i run my forms i get run time error and my exception handlers fail to trap it . ihave no idea how to proceed .
should i use bean area in form and call the class using fbean from custom item rigger if so please explain
can i get sample code example for calling a java class methods from forms.

Help for Using Itemfeild Conversion Agent

Hi all,
i have read several blogs and formus on the use of Conversion Agent software for performing EDIXML To EDI format conversion. Here is the problem i have.
we are doing an IDOC to File scenario and in the Filesender adpater we need to configure and module which does the necessary conversions(EDIXML to EDI-834). I created an Serializer using Content Master Studio and deployed the project to the Content master Engine on the XI server. When i give the transformation paramters which are mentioned in the blogs below

There are no erros shown in the SXMB_MONI or either in the Adpater Framework, but the target file is not being created. can anyone please advice me about how the module name should be set in the File Adpater(SP 17) and how can i check the erros in the conversion module in XI.

please, i need urgent help.
A WORD-document (saved on a PC) was linked to a material with FB "BAPI_DOCUMENT_CREATE2". Everything is ok.
Now, during a background process this document will be change or enlarged at severals workingpoints and saved on a UNIX directory.
At the end of the working process, the enlarged document should be linked to the material again.
I try it with "BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHANGE2" but i got an error message " ... to check in nit possible ...".
What is my problem and can somebody give me a solution for my problem?
