Help, formating arrow (text icon) mouse wont change to arrow...

Hello,
I have a problem, i'm trying to create a page using multiple objects and trying to click and drag to select couple but each time I do the mouse just stays in text format and not the little arrow you get for editing! Can anyone tell me how to change this?

Michael,
You do not need to be in Layout mode to select objects but you do need to start dragging outside of your text areas to avoid the cursor changing into a type insertion point.
You can also click carefully on the edges of objects. A bit hit and miss but you sort of get used to it.
If you'd like to tell Apple what poor GUI this:
+Menu > Pages > Send Pages Feedback…+

What I want to do now is make it so that when you hover the mouse over each footprint it must display some text over the footprint. What I have is footprints as movie clips on my stage. Each footprint has got this code in its "actions". The url for each foot print is just a diferent url, and it works.

I need some help formatting some text

I'm trying to convert a theater script to EPUB. The original file I received was a pdf. I already placed all the text in my InDesign document, but among all the text, there are some phrases between parenthesis that need to be in italics.
Is there a way that I could instruct InDesign to change all characters between parenthesis to italics? Or will I need to manually identify and change them?

Now for instance, say I would like to select something between other symbols beside parenthesis, which characters should I change in the string? Tho ones in the outside or the inside? For example, if I want to select something between quotes, would the string be "?<=\().*?(?=\)" or (?<=\().*?"?=\")?
Or am I just making stuff up and it not possible?

tried on a different mac. The same problem exists.
If that is the case, its extremely unlikely you have a bad USB cable on the seagate, rather as I mentioned earlier a bad SATA bridge card.
If the Seagate 1TB USB external wont open on either Mac and youve verified same (try a diff. USB cable if you have one however this is nearly never the case),....then to get the data off that HD (unless it is dead which is also extremely unlikely),......then you would need to extract the HD from its case and insert same into either a HD dock or USB HD enclosure.
8 out of 10 seemingly dead inopperable 1-3+ year old external HD are perfectly fine, rather the cheap 50 cent SATA bridge card fries and dies (alas)

Finder Icon will not change! Please help!

I have been customizing the look of of my dockbar on my imac by giving all of my apps new ios 7 style icons.
Yesterday I changed my Finder icon with no problem at all by going to:
System→Library→Core Services→(right click 'Dock'→Show Package Contents)→Contents→Resources.
And replacing the two png files (finder.png) and ([email protected]) with my new images. Yesterday I did this all perfectly fine and it changed to my new icon.
However today I found a better finder icon and decided to change it again to this new version. However what ever I try it will not change to this new icon.
I have followed the exact same steps as before, I have replaced my two png files from yesterday with my new ones and I have checked and re-checked that I am naming the files correctly, and that they are the right format etc.
I have even deleted my original icons that I changed it to yesterday and emptied them from the trash but it is still there even after restarting and shutting down and rebooting.
I have also tried going to terminal and typing 'killall Dock', it still returns with the same icon that I changed it to yesterday, even though I have deleted them from my hard drive.
Please help me this is so frustrating and have wasted many many hours on this.

When mouse pointer changes from arrow to cursor it starts to flicker

I am running Windows 7 on a Toshiba laptop (P500-ST5807).
When the mouse pointer changes from arrow to cursor it starts to flicker. The problem seemed to start after I clicked "hide pointer while typing". I tried unchecking "hide pointer while typing" but this did not correct the problem. I have also tried adjusting the touchpad settings to less sensitive -- this did not help either. I have searched the internet and all types of "cursor flicker" seems to be a common problem.
Would anyone have a simple solution?

I am needing help with dreamweaver, when i highlight part of
text to change it's colour it wont change.
I find i can only change it to one colour by changing it in
the HTML but i want to change via the properies panel and have txt
different colours etc.

Well, color would be something you set with CSS. So, you'll
want to turn
that on.
It sounds like you might not be familiar with HTML and CSS.
It's going to be
a challenge using Dreamweaver if you don't understand the
basics of those,
unfortunately.
For specific help, give us a specific example of the kind of
text you want
to color and we can give you some code to use.

If you are using Safari as a web browser :-
Open Safari, go to Safari menu > Preferences > General, and put Google as the homepage. Then, choose Google as your default search engine.
If you are using Google Chrome as the web browser :-
Open Google Chrome.
In the top right corner of the page, click the Chrome menu Chrome menu > Settings.
In the "Search" section, select Google from the drop-down menu.

I went to "view" then "toolbars" and de-selected "yahoo toolbar" and then moved the curser over my firefox page and it now works completely including the problem area (the top 3 cm of each screen). If you head to Settings -> General -> Date & Time is it set to Automatic? Head to Settings -> General -> International -> Calendars and make it is set to Gregorian.
It might not hurt to reset the iPod as well. To do this, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons together long enough for the Apple logo to appear.

If you want to format the entire ticker with particular format then put in the Beginning text
before Table tag
put the font tag with needed attributes
<Font> <table....>
In the end text after table tag
<table> close the font tag

TextEdit wont change font format by section

I just used TextEdit for the first time and found out when I select a section of text and change the format (regular > bold) the entire document changes. Is this a Preferences setting I missed, a problem with TextEdit, or just the way all text editors work.

Help with creating hyperlinks in formatted CSS text

I'm having difficulty adding links using Dreamweaver. I first
format the text with a CSS style, then use the Properties window to
add the hyperlink (or Insert>Hyperlink menu). It creates this,

However, when I place the cursor on AMCC in the design
window, most of the CSS styles I see in the CSS Styles menu are
crossed out with a message "...does not apply to your selection
because it is not inherited. It is applied to a closing tag."
To correct this, I modify the code to:

http://www.amcc.com"><p
class="linkbodyleftcol"AMCC</p></a>
And this clears up the error. However, there must be a more
efficient way to add links while retaining CSS formatting. Could
someone point out a better method?

view then editing this code in Code view?
Doesn't DW allow one to enter a hyperlink in Design view
while maintaining CSS? Seems hard to believe something so simple
would require going into the code, since CSS and hyperlinks are two
key ingredients in web design.
