Everytime I connect my 30gb ipod to my computer via usb my pc freezes my mouse won't work it's driving me mad, help please.

HT5129 Help - freezes when trying to migrate
Help - whenever i click ok to move to the cloud, it seems as if it freezes and nothing happens. I have to close out of iPhoto every time.
A bit over 10K, but... I also am sure no security software is scanning my iTunes folders.
When you drop songs into the library iTunes has to update the ITL and XML files, maybe Norton or something is preventing that?

Whenever i try to use the Genius thing on itunes it gets half way through the first step and then freezes my computer. I have all the sofware updates.
Well, you have to activate Genius in order to use it. And the .itdb files are files that are credited when you use Genius. They are located in the iTunes folder.

Please Help: Freeze on Startup
Hi, I am running a 2Ghz intel Macbook Pro. My problem is that the OS froze during use, and I could not move the cursor. As which point I force shut down by holding the powerswitch. From that point onwards I could not get the machine to boot, and it keep getting stuck at the grey screen with the apple icon.
I have tried various booting methods:
*Safe mode* does not work and I get stuck at the grey screen.
*Single user* mode and *Verbose mode* get stuck right after where it says: +copy right by ...+
*Option key at start up > load from hard disk* goes to the grey screen.
*Option key at start up > load from OS x disc1* goes to the grey screen.
*C at start up* goes to the grey screen.
Command-Option-P-R Does not work.
and *Apple Hardware test* shoes no error.
And at this point I am really stuck as to what to do. Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

Try taking the battery out, and unplugging the power adapter,wait 2-3 min, put the battery back in and try it. May be firmware corruption?

Please Help re Canon 24-70 f/2.8L II - not sharp
Hello!
I got my 24-70 f/28L II last fall. I picked it because i wanted a lens that was good in low light and sharp. I primarily take pictures of my daughter who doesn't tend to stand still much but am able to get some posing out of her.
I'm really struggling with this lens in that i'm finding very few images are tack sharp - not what i expected. i've come to learn (been told) that many are due to the low light and me not necessarily using the proper ISO so adding noise unnessessarily.
But even now, in summer in really good light i'm still not gettting great results. I always focus on one eye and out of maybe 10 shots 2 are sharp.
I'm trying to figure out why my ratio of sharp images is soo low. should it not be higher? Maybe i'm getting too close, or not using the right settings - really questioning myself. Maybe it's front or back focusing, maybe maybe maybe...
The other day i took some shots, here are the settings i used for most of the shots:
Canon EOS 6D
Exposure:0.006 sec (1/160)
Aperture:f/2.8
Focal Length:65 mm
ISO Speed:800
Exposure Bias:0 EV
Really good indirect light (in my garage). I was about 5 feet away from her... and out of 10 shots where she was standing still only 2 are sharp and even those i'd argue are a tiny bit off....

It's hard to tell just how sharp it is (or is not) at such small resolution. It doesn't look like you're focused on the eye. Eyebrow perhaps. 1/160 is fast enough for still subjects, but not for moving. I suspect you're probably frequently in the grey area in-between. You and/or the subject might not move enough to give a blury photo, but it can be enough to reduce 'tack sharp". It can also create inconsistent results. Flash is a popular tool not only because it provides more light so you can use lower ISO and faster shutter speeds, but the flash itself is very fast and thus helps freeze the subject, providing sharper photos.
You shouldn't need to do AFMA for a 2.8 lens. But it wouldn't hurt to try it and see. I recommend Focal.
All that said, a 6D and a 24-70 II should be able to produce some impressively clean images. I would keep working at it. Perhaps even some controlled tests to rule out faulty equipment.
I don't mean to wander OT, but something you said caught my eye. What does the speed of the lens have to do with the need for AFMA? As it happens, my Canon 17-55mm f/2.8 requires a +9 AFMA on both of my 7Ds. From my experience, AFMA would have been the first thing I'd have advised the OP to check. (That said, the really good "L" lenses do seem to leave the factory better adjusted than the lesser lenses do. And the 24-70 f/2.8 II had better be a really good lens, at that price!)

I've had my E90 for the better part of a year now and I never had a problem with it. If anything, its the best phone I ever bought. Anyway, about a week or two back, the phone froze (it does that very rarely) and I turned it off. When I turned it back on it took longer than usual. When it rebooted, I noticed that all my messages (Inbox, Drafts, Sent Items, Email Messages) have been deleted. I also had Worldmate installed and that was deleted too.
Yesterday I needed Worldmate so I went to the "Download!" menu, where it told me it needed to refresh the catalouge data or something like that. Anyway, it starts refreshing then gives me an error message "Some catalogs failed to load". The files all appear (Fun & Achievement, Internet, Security, Communications, Others) but when I click on one of them and see the applications, I can't go back, I have to go Options --> Exit to be able to go back. Also, I tried to download Worldmate and another program. It downloads, then it asks if I want to install, and when I accept, it freezes for about 5 seconds and doesn't install.
I then went to the Installations Menu, where I found all my applications showing but not Worldmate. Inside Application Manager, I only see 2 of my 6 installed applications. Then I found out that I can't even remove/uninstall software. Everything else works fine.
In summary, here are the issues I have:
- E90 V 07.40.1.2 Froze, rebooted with messages and 1 application deleted.
-Unable to install applications
-Unable to remove/uninstall applications
By the way I am using a Mac and don't think I can use PC Suite to install and uninstall applications. If there's a way to do that on a Mac, please let me know. (The glitch happened before I switched to mac.)Hi, I've experienced some of the strange occurence you mentioned one time or another but not all at once, the only time I've lost apps is after I made an upgrade to latest FW 210.34.75.
That's when I discovered one of the bilingual dictionary was deleted without a trace, even backup & restore didn't help, freeze & rebooting also happened once in a while but I didn't notice any weird effect. -
Problem with whfhost.js when using Search in WebHelp
Running RH 10 to generate and publish WebHelp, if I open the help directly from a browser, the Search function is fine. However, the application using the help opens it in a separate tab within its window. When I try to search for a string I know is there, first I get "No results". Then I try another string and I get "Unable to get property 'split' of undefined or null reference', referring to whfhost.js, and the help freezes.
I would gladly fix this file if it were in the root folder of my project, but RH generates it in the output only. Does the application developer have to do something to fix it because it's happening on his end?I’m not getting that happening at all with my WebHelp launched via the application – once I expand the CSH help window to show me the left pane, search works for the left pane and top search field in my title bar.

Best camera for low light and sports

looking for a newer camera for sports and low light shotsThe challenge with sports is that you are REALLY pushing the camera gear to it's limits. Fast action requires fast shutter speeds. But fast shutter speeds demand a lot of light and only outdoor games played during the daytime have that. Indoor games or games played under field lighting at night generally do not have the kind of lighting needed to shoot with fast shutter speeds -- not the kind of shutter speeds needed to freeze action. So this ends up demanding a camera with excellent ISO performance and lenses with very low focal ratios so they can collect a LOT more light when the shutter is open. This gear is expensive.
You will want to consider a reasonable budget depending on what you can afford and the needs of the specific sports.
Are these indoor or outdoor sports? If outdoors, are these played during the day or are they night games?
The "best" camera for sports and low light is the EOS-1D X. It has phenominal low-light performance, has an amazing focus system, and can shoot at 12 frames per second. But it's about $6800 for the "body only" and then you still need lenses. I'm guessing this is probably not what you had in mind. But if money were not a constraint... this would be the one to go for.
The 5D III is another amazing camera for low light performance and and also has an amazing focusing system (largely the same as the 1D X) can shoot at 6 frames per second, and only costs $3500... again, that's the "body only". Still probably not what you had in mind.
The 70D has an extremely good focus system (though not as good as the 5D III and 1D X), not quite as good as low light (but pretty good and much better than a point & shoot camera) and shoots at 7 frames per second (1 fps faster than 5D III) and it only costs $1200 for the body only.
The T5i will be noticeably less expensive than the 70D... a good (but not extremely good) focusing system and 5 frames per second, but the body and 1 kit lens combined is about $850 but that wont a lens suitable for use shooting sports so you'll still need to invest in more appropriate lenses.
When shooting action photography in low light, what you _really_ want is a lens that can collect a lot more light than the average lens for that very brief moment when the shutter is open. Such a lens can allow you to use a faster shutter speed to help freeze those action shots. But *which* lens you use depends on the sport.
For low-light sports, these would ideally be f/2.8 zoom lenses... but f/2.8 zoom lenses are not cheap. Canon's EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS USM (ideal for most indoor sports and outdoor sports IF the action is happening close to you) is about $2500. Sigma's lens is about half that price. But if you're covering action on a large athletic field and the players are far away, they'll still be small. Sigma makes a 120-300mm f/2.8 zoom for sports... for the low low price of only $3600.
Scott Kelby does a video to talk about sports photography and he discusses the equipment used and why... and basically says if you want the gear for shooting sports, you basically need a suitcase full of money.

Ever since I had a new modem installed several of my programs are not responding (this is the message beside the program name in the Force Quit window). Not all programs just a few that I have seen like iPhoto, Limewire, Mac Help (which IS SOOOO helpful when help freezes!!!) System Preferences is working except for: Account, Sharing and Security. The application freezes if I click any of those icons. Photoshop and Firefox open (but not Camino.) If I log on in my other user account everything runs fine, no problems at all! Unfortunetly my internet provider knows squat about Mac. Any ideas?
Oh help again. The problem has started all over again! Downloaded Preferential Treatment, but it won't let me open that OR disk utility now!
Update a few minutes later:
Went into my other user account. Essentially did nothing other than to try using the programs that would not work in my usual user account and when I logged out and went back into my account everything was working again. Ran Preferential Treatment, it found nothing wrong. Presently running disk utility again, just for the **** of it. Any ideas? Why it straightens itself out, then goes crazy again and then fixes itself after going to the other user account??? -
Lock-Ups and Freezes PLEASE HELP

I come here to see if anyone can help me... Ive done it all and nothing is working.
I just recently started having problems with my computer, im not sure why this happend but ill try to explain everything as best as I can.
The problem started a few days ago while I was playing SWG's. I was playing and all of a sudden my machine froze, the screen locked-up and then after about 2 min the entire system restarted. I then logged back into my windows and after a while a system froze and restarted yet again. I though it was a SWGs issue but then the computer would freeze while browsing the net and doing other tasks.
I have formated my machine, re-installed my drivers, and re-installed the hardward. Nothing has worked.

Did you do ANYTHING to change your system prior to this happening to possibly have an effect?
the fast that you said you have re-loaded the OS and removed and re-installed the hardware with the same result tells me that there may be some sort of hardware failure and this could get difficult to troubleshoot.
First things first, try a memory testing software like memtest86 to see if you get any errors.

Help !!! freeze and stuck on grey screen, difficult to reboot, here is my EtreCheck report
Help !!! I experienced more and more issues since I upgraded to mavericks and i brought my MBP 15" (from 2011, out of warranty) to the Apple genius bar a couple of days after my computer started to freeze and crash on a grey screen with less and less possibility to reboot it (tried all advices i could find on the forums to reboot in other ways, etc. ). The overnight tests at Apple gave nothing, they just decided to reinitiate the software and concluded that the problem was solved.
But the problem happened again: when i reloaded my backup from Time Machine, i could run the whole process till the end then when I was asked to restart, I couldn’t open the finder, my screen was stuck on a light grey.
I could reboot it (always in maintaining the off button to stop the machine or in using the single mode) but it’s non stable, after too many manipulations, the screen freezes or divides in 2 parts with lines, etc. And I have to try again different ways to reboot…
I took a new appointment to the Apple Genius bar, but in the mean time, I tried to repair the authorizations, and I have to say that the list is really long, even if I did the operation more 3 times…
I think there is a software conflict somewhere and find the possibility to check the system with EtreCheck (thanks! I will also bring this paper to the Genius bar technician).
Please, would there be someone who could read this information and gives me some advices and opinion on what could be problematic, what to do etc.
In end, what is very weird to me:
I could read on this forum that “startup items” are no more necessary since OS 10.4. I tried to delete the ones that appear here in library/startupitems, and found another one which is not mentioned in this EtreCheck list : startouc
Also when I tried to delete those items, it was refused by the finder with the message saying that this items are in use…
Another point: I uninstalled the application Chiavetta Internet 42 a week ago when I started to have the problems. I was in Italy and this is a usb key with pin for internet. At the moment thought about a possible conflict with the key and deleted every item concerning this installation. This is because I don’t understand that it appears now in the “User login Items”.

When I start up Bridge CC I get a error message instructing me to purge cache in preferences which I do but it doesn't work and freezes my mac. I cannot curretnly use Bridge CC. PLease help as this is costing me time and money - thank you in advance....
Hold down the Option key as you launch Bridge, keep it down until you see a dialog box, then click all three options in the re-set box that comes up.
If you don't see that re-set box, you're doing it wrong, i.e., you're not holding the Option key down fast enough. -
MSI TI 4200 - TD8X - PC freezes while playing games.. Dx problem? Settings? HELP!

I bought a MSI GF4 TI-4200 TD 8x about 2 months ago, and it has been running fine 'till now...I'm having a few problems in a few games (HALO, homeworld 2), ocasionally my computer freezes completely in the middle of these games, and I have to reboot...I've tried lots of things to solve this problem, but I wasn't able to just yet...As I know these 2 games use directx 9, I was wondering if my graphics card supports or is compatible with dx9...In the manual and on the site it says dx 8.1 compatible...doesn't mention dx 9... So I'd like to know if it is compatible, and if this may be the cause for all these gaming problems...If not, I'd like to know what can I do to detect where the problem is...
When the game crashes, a long beeping sound occurs...I think this may be relevant too...

The reason is someone may have had this problem from that forum but deos not visit this one. I also suggest you post this question over at http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/ to see if they have experienced it.
I know I have experienced this problem but for the life of me I cannot remember what it was that fixed it.
Your sound and TV card are sharing IRQ's, you really should try to swap PCI slots so the Audigy is on it's own and the same goes with the TV card. I know slot 3 is a good spot for the TV card, you may have to swap till you get the best IRQ allocation.

I have called a number to have them fix it i have emailed and uninstalled then reistalled many many times. What happens is, iTunes will open up, but before i have any time to do anything, it will freeze, and my only option is ctrl alt delete. i am desperate for anything to fix it. it has been broken for a longg time.
