Help! Freezing and not turning back on!

So, I've had my iPod since Christmas of '07, and now it's March 8. My iPod is frozen, and it won't turn back on. All I see is a black screen. This is the third or fourth time that this has happened to my iPod. I've left it alone for a while, and the last few times this happened it turned back on, but now it won't turn back on and my computer doesn't recognize my iPod. I've also tried the 5 R's, but those haven't worked. They normally don't for my iPod for whatever reason. Does anyone know how I can fix it? I'd really appreciate it!

I fixed it. I switched the hold switch to on and off a few times and then i held the menu button and the center button for 6-8 seconds. Before i did the center button and the play/pause button..but then i figured it out. Yes! I'm glad it's working!

Hi to all of you.
First I wanna apoligize if I'm posting this in the wrong discution board, I am new here
So, here's my problem. I have an iPhone 3GS with iOS 4.0.1. I got the phone last summer, with iOS 3 point something, and I updated it to it's current iOS. I also unlocked it and jailbroke it, because that was the only way i could use it here in Macedonia.
Anyway, the phone worked perfectly for like a year until a while ago when it started crashing and not turning back on.
For example, I'm leaving the phone to charge trough the night(as usual), then I'm using it for listening to music for like half an hour on my way to college. Now the interesting thing...the phone crashes after like half an hour of usage time, and that's usualy at over 90% of baterry, or just over 80%.
Nevermind, the thing is, after it crashes, there is no way you can turn it back on, even though it had, let's say, 87% of battery power. When I try to turn it back on, the apple logo comes out like usual and fades away after a short while. If I continue trying it's gonna be the same thing, or even it's gonna show that red baterry bar telling me that I have to plug the phone to charge. And when I do that, the phone turns back on and it shows that it has like 60% of battery power(***?) or even less than 5%, it depends on the mood of my iPhone -.-
And if somehow I manage to turn on the phone without plugging it in, when I go to check the usage stats, it says "Usage time will be shown after iPhone is fully charged"
So, my question is, what should I do? Is it the battery? Should I get a new one, or maybe should I update my iOS?
I just want to mention that if I update my iOS, I HAVE to unlock the phone if I wanna use it here.

These are signs of faulty battery. Battery replacement at Apple Store is $80, and you will get perfect working iPhone 4 same as your current iPhone, except it will be working. Make Genius Reservation and take to Apple. Or have battery replaced elsewhere.

phone's battery was fully charged, earlier today it turned off while i was in the middle of a call. pressed the power button and it turned on normally.
a while ago i took it out of my jacket's pocket to find it off. tried the 8 second power push, no use.
also tried the 3 button reset... no use either.
an ideas on how to solve it before i send it to nokia care?
they take a week or probably more to have it fixed !!!

tried pressing the power button, then holding it for 8 seconds and more
still nothing
used the hard reset... still nothing. no vibration and screen remains black, nothing at all.
i plug in the charger, still nothing
i use the USB port, light on the side doesn't light up either.
do I have a totally DEAD phone?
when going to Nokia, should i have it fixed or not settle for anything except for a brand new phone ?
note: phone is less than a month old and in a totally mint condition

thats a bad case most iPhone 5 have this issue the power button is a glitch thats why they stopped selling it.
If you would like better performance use assistive touch on the settings.

IBook will suddenly shut down and not turn back on

My iBook (apporx. 5 yrs. old) will suddenly shut down while I'm working and not back on. Most of the time after it's been turned off for days it won't turn back on, although it's plugged in and the battery is charged 100%. But on the occations it does power up, everything works properly. Could my battery be completly shot?

I too have that problem, but since apple replaced my battery for free, it still does that. I once heard that once your iBook reaches a certain temperature, it will just turn off the screen. usually when it happens to me, I just restart my machine the old way (control-apple-power), but it isn't so good either from what I understand! it is a bad way to work, but until apple fixes the bug, we'll just have to live!
(ps) is there any reason you still run os 9 (cause it is officially discontinued as of 2004)? you should be able to purchase mac OS X (10.2 or 10.3) from ebay or your local mac repair shop (we fix macs in palo alto, ca probably sells it still) I just wanted to inform you of this since you obviously had no idea!

HELP Iphone will not turn back on

Ok, I was messing with Facebook this morning and FB would not let me post anything. I would post and then it would go back to the app screen. I did this a total of 3 times and then decided to delete FB and then try and redownload it. Well phone started moving real slow so I shut it off. Held the top button and slid the slider over and it started to turn off. It didnt shut off for a while so I hit the home button and it just turned off. Now when I go to turn it back on the apple comes up for about 10-15 seconds and shuts off. I have tried holding both buttons down with no luck. Have tried everything, held both buttons down for 30 seconds, continuously hit the buttons while the apple is up etc.... Nothing works. I need help, what can I do to get my phone back up. I am lost without it!! I appreciate the help you guys can give me.

Ok, now a new scenario. Someone told me that maybe the battery was dead to plug it and charge it. So at lunch I went to my car and started charging my phone. After charging it for about 15 minutes I held the top button and the home button for about 10 seconds. About 10 seconds in the phone clicks on the usb port cord and Itunes logo. What does this mean? Do I need to plug it into Itunes?

Hi, I Got My MacBook Air Last Week, And I was just scrolling about on the web, then went onto frostwire (which i have been using for two years now and never had any problems) then the whole thing had frozen, nothing would move, not the cursor, on/off buttons, nothing. i dont know what to do!!!???

Hold the power button down for six seconds to turn it off. Wait ten seconds and then press the power button to reboot it again. This answer was posted by another user on the forumn and it just helped me out with my new MacBook Air.

Mac-Pro shut down and not turn back on.

Just a moment ago, my Mac-Pro prompted a message that I hold the shutdown button till the system turn off. To my surprise, I did not manage to start the system, again. When I try to turn on the system an alarm sound and the screen was blank.
Please, advice what I should do to get it back to life.

My iphone 4 wont turn on. I used my phone with no prob this morning but then it decided it was turning off and not turning back on again.... I plug it into the wall to charge it tells me to connect to iTunes but as soon as I unplug my phone it turns off. I connect it to computer for iTunes and it restarts after the apple symbol comes up. ???????
I had my phone connected to the computer at work all afternoon and watched it show the apple symbol then switch off and do it again and again. I don't see how it would be the battery as I felt it should have plenty of charge by now plus I have tried all different cables and its still the same.
Please help me. I do like my iPhone but I only seem to have problems.

I've had this from new for 2 years, the battery life is excellent and lasts for days so I know it's not a power issue as it was fully charged that morning. No signs of connection in itunes, it's not showing as a connected device.
Can anyone please help?

i put that i held down the home button and all that... sorry, should of made my message a little clearer hun.. but i did try that, ive been searching video's on the net trying to figure out how to fix the problem, but nothing seems to be working... ive just tried pluging the usb lead into my phone while holding the home button then connecting it to my computer to see if itunes fires up, but even that didnt work... i dont know what else to try.

Hi Everyone, I am a grandmother who is very new to these smartphones. I got one of the droid incrdible 2's by HTC. The phone was working fine until one night I turned it off and went to bed. Upon waking found the phone would not turn back on??? Has anyone had this problem??? I mean I get nothing!!! It powers on or something because if you look real close you can see the screen is barely lit. You can make out a blue looking screen, no apps or nothing. The same thing is happening with mine. Went to the Verizon store ... said it was a faulty battery. Low and behold none of the stores in my area even had a battery in stock. Have had to wait 5 days for it to come in the mail. Cost me over $30!!!!!! Anyway ... after about 15 min.of the rep trying different things, the phone finally came on .... barely. He told me to keep it plugged in. It actually started working fine for almost a week ... now its doing it again. Battery came today .. gonna give it a try. Apparently this is an issue with ALOT of people with this phone. WHY DOESN'T VERIZON ADDRESS IT!?
Makes me rethink my choices when my contract is up in February. May do some shopping for a different carrier! I have been a Verizon customer for forever ... you would think they would make this right!

And we would need more info. "will not turn back on unless it is charged at all times." is pretty obvious: the phone will obviously not turn on unless it is charged.
