HELP!!! G5 Start up problems... Loud Revving sound and no desktop appears

My PowerMac G5 sounds like it is going to take off. When I start up, nothing appears on the screen and there is a super load revving sound.. Seems like the fan is running very very fast and loud. Also, power light blinks in 3 blink bursts. Don't know how to resolve. Help needed desperately. thanks,

Loud popping sound and then nothing

Everything was working beautifully then suddenly I heard a loud popping sound and the screen went black and the computer was dead. I turned everything else off, waited about thirty seconds and tried to turn it on. When I press the on button it lights up but nothing else happens.
Any thoughts?

Well - a loud pop was the classic symptom of a blown Power Supply Unit.
Not sure which G5 you have... but if it's a "Late 2005" dual-core

i am in great and desperate need of help (i have a paper tomorrow and my powerbook goes crazy!) and i'd appreciate any replies. anyway, here's the problem:
last week i had a new cd-rom installed (the hardware) and had an additional memory added to my powerbook. anyway, last night, i was importing music from my cds to the laptop and then it starts having this crazy gurgling sound coming from the bottom left of my laptop, where the fan is (i believe). anyway, it stopped after a while.
however, this afternoon, i was importing music again when it just went crazy with the sounds and won't stop. everything then hanged, including my word and powerpoint document, my internet browser, everything. it wouldn't even respond to ctrl-option-esc. so i removed the battery. i made it rest and tried opening after an hour.
it won't start up. it just makes the crazy sound and goes to that all white page with the apple in the middle. it just stays in that mode, with the loading thingy going round and round, but nothing's happening. meanwhile, the laptop continues making crazy sounds and i can't access anything except that page.
if anyoen can help me, i'd really really appreciate it!

well I would say it means that theres a problem with the CD rom or memory. I would remove the new hardwhere and see if that helps. Then if it does I would backup everything and then add the memory and see if it works then if it dose then add the CD rom if it doesn't work after that you know its a bad CD rom. If the memory makes it have a problem remove it and add the CD rom if it works then you know it was the memory. Then I would buy a program call techTool Deluxe or Pro that allows you to test your computers hardware Or another way thats alot less time consumming is just remove the new hardware hope this helps

I have been worried about this problem since a long time. I couldn't get any help figuring out the problem. I am using microsoft visual j++ 6.0
I have tried putting the rt.jar file in the class path but its getting me out of the compilation errors and not this runtime error.
I faced this problem with many codes.
When i used the jbuilder as one of the users suggested, i am getting this compilation errors,

Didn't we hear this from you yesterday? Sounds too familiar. If so, we told you you're using a MICROSOFT product (Visual J++), which is OLD, and not up to the SUN's java specification. We suggested that you dump Visual J++ and go with something like JBuilder, Forte, Visual Cafe, etc.
This is a SUN site in support of SUN's java - not Microsoft's outdated and non-existent (anymore) version.

I have two problems. Creative Cloud Desktop says there is a new version of it, and when I try to update, the Adobe Installer seems to go about 80% of the way, and then stops with the following message:
I can’t open the Creative Cloud Desktop, as, when I do so, it tells me:
If I quit, it closes the Desktop, and if I try to update, it fails to install as shown above.
When I tried to update PS CC, by using the Update in Help in PS (v 14.2 x64), it said that there were two updates available, for CC and CC (64Bit).
I tried to install them both, when it asked me to close PS, which I did, it got upto 99% of installing the first update and then it quit with the error:
As has been reported by others, the error log file referred to merely said:
     Adobe CSXS Infrastructure 4
     Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
Following the advice of Ashutosh Nigam in another post, I have sent him the Installers and the AAMUpdater files. If I should send them to someone else, or you need any other information, please let me know.
Hopefully, someone can help me fix these problems.

Problem accessing child object and changing its appearance (color)

For a program, I need to be able to access a child object (in this case a box) after adding it to a transform group and change its appearance, for example the color of its top face. I have included a small code example to show my problem. The box is the only child I have added to the TransformGroup, but when I call getChild(), it returns a node, and thus I can't then call getShape() to get the top face and change its appearance. What am I doing wrong?

It would help if you gave us the following System information:
Operating System/version
Photoshop version number
Amount of RAM installed
Hard drive(s) capacity
Make and model number of video card
Also try resetting your preferences as described in the FAQ.

You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.
This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.
A complete uninstall/re-install will not affect the preferences and a corrupt file there may be causing the problem.

HELP! Start up problems

Hey, I'm having some serious trouble starting up my macbook. It takes about 10-15 minutes to start it completely. The main screen appears but the cursor just freezes and I can't click on anything for about 10 minutes before it finally starts working. My mac is only a month old so I don't understand what the problem could be! I tried opening system preferences and then clicking on start up disk but whenever I click on the mac os icon I get a system error saying I can't change the startup disk to the selected disk. I'm completely lost and any help would be greatly appreciated!

If the computer is new and one month old then I would take it back for warranty repair.

Hi,
The product's rollers and gears make noise when they pick up paper. Thicker media makes more noise. If the product prints without a paper jam, the noises are normal. If the product jams, clear the paper jam.
Recommend you to try clean the rollers and try the media type and check if same is repeated.

HELP! Starting up problems

These days when I switch on macbook pro before the login screen appears it goes blank, completely white and then the loging screen appears what's wrong with my mac? I don't here any funny noise but the screen thing is sort of worrying me.

I persoanlly think it's crappy Lion, it's got a cheap PC like feeling to it where quality control went out the door or something.

Macbook pro retina start to make loud fan noise and work slow

I bought macbook pro retina display less than one years ago. For some reason my macbook pro has been making loud fan noise for about five mounth. Whenever macbook pro makes the noise, all the programs start to run slow. Typing, opening safari, and etc takes forever. It takes 20min to 40min for the noise to stop. At first, the macbook pro made noise once or twice in a day, but now it's making the noise frequently; It happens every 2-3 hours. It got to the point where it start to annoying me. Is there a way for me to fix this issue? If not, can I use one year warrenty to fix this problem? Thank you.

If your Mac works slowly when fans turn on, it's quite possible that there's a process which is eating the CPU and/or RAM.
Open Activity Monitor (in /Applications/Utilities), select "All Processes" above "Show" (in the toolbar) and then, order the processes by CPU usage. Do you see any process which is consuming more CPU or RAM? If so, tell us the name.
