Help! G770 Lenovo laptop won't turn on.

Last night I closed my laptop without turning it off. I do this often and it's been a year now and it works fine until this morning. I opened it and with the battery in I turned it on. The power button didn't turn on, the laptop wouldn't start. I tried removing battery and keeping in the ac plug. Didn't work. I tried putting in the battery and plugging it with the ac plug and it still doesn't work. I notice that when the battery is in, and the ac plug is attached, it shows that the laptop is charging. Removing the battery while the plug is in makes the charging light disappear. So I kept the battery in and the wire as well, and after 15 minutes it started after I pressed the button. Tonight it did the same thing and wouldn't start again. I looked online with m phone and found this site. Someone suggested holding it down for 10 seconds 5 times and plug the ac plug in and it should work, but it did. Any suggestions or solutions. It's finals week, and my exam is tomorrow. Any help before that would be great. Thanks!

hi Jmv,
Welcome to the Lenovo Community.
If you're not hearing any beeping noise comming out from the computer, you could try to:
1. Re-seat the RAM (you can find more info on page 44 on the Hardware Maintenance manual here). If you have 2 RAM modules, you will need to remove one & leave one RAM module in and try turning the computer ON (you're trying to test if one of the RAM chips are defective). Note: You will need to take out the battery and HDD first before you can access the RAM slot.
Caution:
Please be very careful in disassembling your computer as the internal parts are fragile.
If re-seating the RAM module(s) doesn't work, you may need to contact Lenovo Technical Support for service. Lenovo Support Phone List here.
Hope this helps.

    Try resetting the SMC

If it has a removable battery, try removing the battery.
If neither works, then you may need to bring it in for service.  Bring the power adapter as well, as you may be able to determine if it is the power adapter at fault, or the computer's power supply.

  • My notebook blacked out & Charger keeps Turing green & orange & laptop won't turn on

My notebook blacked out & Charger keeps Turing green & orange & laptop won't turn on , I need your help.

Which model MBP do you have (15" late 2011, for example).
There are a number of things you could try - restarting in Safe Mode (start up with teh Shift key held down), resetting the SMC, etc., but I don't really think that those 'quick fixes' are going to help.
If I were you, I would just take the machine into your local Apple Store and have them run diagnostics on the unit. If it's out of warranty, they'll give you an estimate for repair and will charge you nothing for the diagnosis and estimate.
Sounds as if you've a hardware issue... maybe try running the Apple Hardware Test and see if you've any errors?
    Good luck,
    Clinton

  • Laptop won't turn on

I was trying to do a secure delete on my Apple, but I couldn't figure out how. So I just started throwing everything in the trash.
Now my laptop won't turn on when I press the power button. Should I get an Apple restore disc?
What should I do? How do I fix this problem???

    Hi,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions
One easy way of secure deleting, or deleting in general (use mostly when delete a large number of files) is to put all the files in one folder (just create a random folder in Finder) > Press Control (ctrl) and click on the folder > Go down to move to Trash (in the popup menu) > Go to Finder > Secure Empty or Empty Trash.
Did you delete the files or did it just shut off? What exactly were you deleting? Languages, fonts; anything like that? You may want to look at Knowledge Base Document #106214 on Troubleshooting Startup Issues. Do you get any sounds or flashes of light (from the "sleep" light)? You may want to try booting up in Safe Mode (Knowledge Base Document #107393 on How to Startup In Safe Mode), or with the install discs.

  • My laptop won't turn on!!!

Hi everyone, I left my laptop on hibernate and once I got back home it won't turn on I have a P55-A5200 laptop. What do I need to do?

I have the same problem with the P55-A5200.  It went to sleep and will not power back on.  The power LED light is on but the laptop will not wak up, power adapter is tested and so is the power outlet.  I tried the memory slot trick and didn't work.  My battery is internal, no battery to take off and put back on.  What now???Hi. It is my first message here. I registered just to add my solution into this topic. I had that problem exactly after similar stuff. My laptop was in use without power on battery and I was going to sleep. On battery it went to sleep mode in half hour, I think, but at the morning I was unable to switch laptop on. My model is new, 1 month old today, Toshiba Satellite L50D Black. When I turned it on, screen was black, not even Toshiba logo and all lights were on (eg. power, caps and num lock, also battery and wifi indicators). Also fan was going strong, but no boot. I was searching the whole Internet, but since there is no removable battery, most of guides to reset stuff I found pretty useless for me. Even Toshiba's info about Reset hole, but I was unable to locate it on this item, because I think it is not available in this model. I was about to go back to shop from where I purchased this, but I choosed to let PC go open without power, only on battery until battery goes zero. You will know that when lights will go off, so battery is empty then. Now when it is finally empty, put it into charge, push on/off button and your laptop finally boots and works normally. At least this happened to me. I hope it will never do again this stuff. So far, in love with this piece. I hope this helps someone. Have a nice day.

  • Laptop won't turn on at all

So I was using my laptop and with in thirty seconds of usage , the laptop shut off. Before it shut off the screen seemed to get a little blurry, though I'm not sure if this was just my eyes adjusting. The laptop was plugged in when it shut off. Now it won't turn on or even indicate a charge. This happens randomly. I've tried removing the battery and powering back on while plugged in and no luck any where. Please help.

  • [Help]iPhone 5s screen won't turn on / won't play sounds

    Hello, my name is Bryan.
I've got a problem with my iPhone 5s. I opened my iPhone to fix an issue with the home button (Watched a guide on youtube on how to achieve this), and I connected everything as it is supposed to go, my home button is working but now my screen won't turn on or the phone won't play any sounds. I know the phone it's on because I can connect it to the computer and the computer recognizes it. Also, I tried calling it, and it rings on the phone I am calling from, but my iPhone simply won't play any sounds...
I am also sure the phone is not in DFU mode.
    Any help?
    Thanks in advance,
    - Bryan

It won't even vibrate or do anything, but it's on.

  • Help, MBP 2,2 won't turn into Standby after upgrade to 10.7.2

Recently I've upgraded from 10.7.1 to 10.7.2 via the Software-update utility, however now my MBP model 2,2 won't turn into standby mode when it is connected to the power adapter. Not when I close the lid, or when I select Standby via Apple -> Standby.
On the other hand, when my MBP is running on battery there is no problem with going into Standby mode, so I thing it has something to do with the settings that are suddenly changed...
Does anyone now if the settings have changed somehow? Or where I can change the settings?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello Bastiaan,
The first two days after installation of 10.7.2 and the Aperture update my laptop also refused to go to sleep, but that behaviour stopped recently all by its own. When I looked at the Activity monitor I saw the mac was indexing spotlight and rebuilding libraries, so probably it did not want to go to sleep while there still was critical work to be done to migrate properly to iCloud.
I do not know of any other preference settings that might prevent sleep.
So perhaps you should look at the Activity Monitor, if some high priority process is running, that might prevent sleep.
If closing the lid does not work, that might be a hardware problem, but it seems to be unlikely, since it works when on battery power. Does your computer go to sleep when on power adapter, if you set the computer sleep interval to a very short time?
    Regards
    Léonie

  • HELP!!  IPOD WON'T TURN OFF

No matter what I do. It's stuck! It won't turn off. Right now it's unplugged from the computer & won't turn off. The battery will run down completely now.
I also had trouble with my computer recognizing the iPod after I installed the iTunes & software & imported a CD into iTunes library.
    HELP!!
    Lee

you might try putting it to sleep. go to the main menu and choose settings, and then look around there for "sleep" it doesn't shou up on the main menu by default. select sleep and turn it from "off" to "on" then go back to the main menu and select sleep (press center button) and it should turn off.
