Help getting full turbo overclock?

Hey guys, I'm new to MSI motherboards, and overclocking on PC's. I've overclocked my phones and know quite a bit about it though.
Here's my problem.. I'm currently running an MSI Z77A-GD45 motherboard, with an i5-2320 processor (non-K). I can get a single core up to around 3.97 gHz (107.5 BCLK x 37 multi) But whenever I go above 2 cores, it drops to a 35 multiplier, no matter what settings I change. The only turbo option that I have enabled is Enhanced overclock, which supposedly can unlock all cores at the max multiplier. I have all energy saving options disabled, and the power limits set to the max.

    Excuse my ignorance, but I am setting up a couple of new Mac's, an iMac 24" 2.8ghz & and MacPro 2.66 ghz both dual cores. The MacPro has 2, 20" monitors, but the layout on the screens of both computers is not using the entire area. There is a black border that frames the screen reducing the 20" area to about 16" and the 24" area to about 20". How can I get more display area?

    Go to "Displays" system preference and look for any Underscan or Overscan settings. What are the resolution settings? Is Mirroring on in the "Arrangement" tab?

    I am having the same problem with brand new Ipad Mini at my house.
    It connects to the WiFi fine - but will not pull an IP address in DHCP mode, or if I set all the IP info statically - it still will not get any network access.
    This doesn't look like a WiFi issue, as it does connect and is seen by the WiFi Access Point.  All the normal WiFi fix stuff doesn't help.
    - Using a Dlink DAP-2553 which is less than 2 months old. 
    Other devices connect fine, including Ipad 2.
    This same Mini worked fine at another house and also connected to a mobile hotspot fine....so seems to be some weird IP issue with maybe this Access Point or maybe the older Router that I have (older Netgear)?
    I am actually a network engineer and still have not been able to find a solution.  Both the Ipad Mini and the Dlink WAP have the latest firmware loaded.
    Wondering if anyone has found a solution to this problem.

  • TEMP tablespace getting full while inserting a CLOB in Trigger

    We have a Oracle 10g (10.2.0.4.0) DB on a Solaris 9 box which also runs our J2EE web-service application on Weblogic 8sp6 server.
    We get around 220K web-service requests from upstream callers daily to insert data in the main table, say TABLE1, which has daily partitions on a date column. This table has around 21 columns out of which 1 is a CLOB column.
    Now this table has an AFTER INSERT trigger which calls a package procedure to insert the same record into another table, say TABLE2.
    From Java application insert statement in executed in below format using a weblogic jdbc connection pool :

    Clob object is prepared in application using ojdbc14.jar.
    We are observing a strange issue here. The TEMP tablespace utilization keeps on growing as more and more inserts are executed by application and after ~125K inserts the TEMP tablespace gets full and we start getting ORA-01652 error.
    On further analysis we could see that there are only 7-10 session being maintained but as more and more inserts happen TEMP tablespace utilization goes on increasing for each of these sessions.
    When we tried with inserting just few records and then watching the session details in v$session_wait then we could see that it is in INACTIVE state and waiting for the event ‘SQL*Net message from client’. This does not seem correct as the session has successfully inserted the data and committed the transaction and we can see the data in the tables as well.
    The confusing thing here is when we modify the trigger to pass blank string('' ) instead of the CLOB column to TABLE2 then this issue does not occur. All 200K records are inserted properly and TEMP tablespace utilization also keep always below 1%.
    Can you please help us in solving this issue. Is this related to any oracle issue?
    Inside the package we have tried using DBMS_COPY statement to copy the CLOB column after insert but still same result.

    My first thought on reading your post is that not only are you using a database version that is now so old it is in extended support and even then not even the most recent patchset for it.
    The first thing I would do is move to 11gR2 and if you can't do that at least get to 10.2.0.5 and apply CLOB relevant patches as well.
    Same goes for your operating system. Solaris 9 is ancient: So move to 10 which has vastly improved memory management.
    To help you further it would be really valuable to know the table layout. For example is this a heap table or an IOT? Is it partitioned? Is this RAC? What size are the CLOBs? Are they stored in-line? Chunk size? etc.

    But I am also wondering why you would use a trigger to, as you say, "insert the same record into another table." This description is a poster child for "bad design."

    I am using airplay from my iPad (new). Mirroring doe not utilize 100% of my screen width. There is always 3 inches of screen initialized on either side.
    I tried using all the screen resolution of video in settings it does not help. Ting to note is that the problem is occurring only for mirroring. If I play videos directly in YouTube on Apple TV I get full display. Any reason how to resolve this to achieve full screen and 100% Mirroring?

    No there is no way to Mirror full screen from an iOS device to the Apple TV. iOS devices are not 16:9 like your HDTV so the mirrored image appears as the size your iOS device would be if it were the size of your TV. Hope that makes sense.

    When i executed the command df -lg and find . -name core noting is displayed, but if i execute the command df is showed me the below information. below is an original file which i have modified the sid.

    Sorry to step on Kappy's toes, but I've got a huge paste on the subject.
    I made this post because usually if someone's drive is getting full they also don't have a backup system in place, so hooking up a storage drive for more room is going to incur the "TimeMachine" asking to make a backup, so I thought I'd make a post to straighten everything out, the differences between the two and so forth.
    Enjoy the read.
    There is a boot drive inside the computer and it's storage space is filled up.
    You need to create a external storage drive and transfer some of your files off the internal boot drive.
    TimeMachine doesn't work for this as it's just a rotating backup image of what's on your boot drive, it's not a storage drive for more space and to save things permanently.
    So what you need to do is get three external drives from the office or computer store.
    I suggest 3-4 separate drives at 1TB each (or more capacity if you really got a lot of stuff), USB 2 is currently fine, the newer USB 3's are more expensive but your Mac doesn't have USB 3 ports, so get the less expensive USB 2 drives and save some money. If you can get Firewire 800/USB combination drives, those would be a better choice as Firewire 800 is the fastest for most Mac's. Only the very new ones have Thunderbolt and the new drives for that are rare and expensive.
    Make sure they are self powered drives with their own power supply, not port powered as those are a bit flaky as Apple can just determine the device is drawing too much current from the computer and turn it off.
    Note: sometimes if your computer is so full, you might actually have to delete some files in order to be able to get it to function transferring files, so pick ones that you can get new copies again, like free iTunes podcasts or movies for instance.
    TimeMachine Drive
    The first drive you connect to the Mac is going to pop up a window to ask if you want to make this a "TimeMachine Drive" go ahead and allow it to do that, it's backing up everything on your internal boot drive, it's going to take a long time.
    Once it's finished, disconnect this TimeMachine drive and label it as a "TimeMachine Drive"
    Extra space /Storage drives
    The second drive you connect is going to be your "extra storage drive" basically to free up space off the internal boot drive by transferring files to it.
    Formatting:
    You first need to format this drive, you use Disk Utility in the Applications> Utilities folder.
    On the FAR LEFT side will be the 'name of the drive make + numbers/letters ' + "media" click that and then click the Partition tab
    (If the partition tab does not appear, you likely didn't click on the right item on the far left side.)
    Now click 1 Partition, Option: GUID, format OS X Extended (Journaled), give it a name like "StorageOne" and click Apply.
    Now click the Erase Tab and Security Option> Zero All Data and click Erase (use the same name) this will take a long time, like 2 hours per 1TB. It's going to check the drive for any errors and make sure it's working.
    Note: If the drive fails to format, then perform the Zero All Data first, then visit the Partition tab.
    Once the second drive is finished, then do the third drive in the same manner, this time naming it "StorageTwo"
    Transferring Data off to the Extra Storage drive
    Connect only StorageOne drive and visit your User/Movies folder, it's likely the biggest culprit of oversized files. Create a new folder on the StorageOne drive called "ExtraMovies" and transfer the contents of User/Movies to the "ExtraMovies" folder via drag and drop methods.
    Confirm the files were transferred and then delete those movies by dragging them to your Trash can and selecting "Empty Trash" from the Finder menu (if you select Secure Empty Trash on large files it takes a really long time to finish as it's scrubbing the drive, likely unnecessary except for sensitive files)
    If you have a large amount of User/Files elsewhere, you will have to search yourself and repeat the same steps to free up room on your internal boot drive.
    Once you have made some free space, download this free program to help you visualize where all your space is being taken up.

    Once you have completed moving files to the StorageOne drive, connect StorageTwo and copy the contents of StorageOne folders to StorageTwo drive. Both drives have to be connected of course.
    Rule of thumb
    Maintain TWO separate hardware copies of your User data at ALL TIMES
    Because you need more room, thus the storage drives are for extra space. The TimeMachine drive is a backup of your internal boot drive and the second storage drive is a backup copy of the first storage drive. So that way your sticking with the rule of thumb, get it?
    Don't connect TimeMachine while your transferring files, or formatting drives, you don't want it to "kick in" while your doing all this heavy work or transferring a large amount of files, I think it does so every hour, which you are going to taking quite some time to do all this work.
    Once your all done making room and copying files to the Storage drives, disconnect them and label them and date them.
    Reconnect TimeMachine drive
    Then connect the TimeMachine drive and it will make a NEW backup of your now newer configuration on your boot drive and keep it updated every time you connect it.
    Again, TimeMachine is NOT a storage drive for permanent keeping of data, it deletes old stuff as time progresses. So even though you can "go back in time" and recover a file you transferred then deleted off the your internal boot drive, it  won't keep everything forever like a storage drive can.
    Consider Cloning your boot drive.
    TimeMachine drives can only restore, they are not hold the option key bootable like a clone is, so a TimeMachine drive isn't a heck of a lot of help if your hard drive fails to boot the computer, so a "hold the option key bootable clone" made with third party software is a very useful as you get to use the computer just like it was before and can get online, grab files off the internal drive and so forth. Even erase and reverse cloning!
    The trick with a clone is you make one and keep it disconnected, updating it from time to time. If a software update or install hoses your machine, you can option boot off the clone, grab the latest copy of your files and reverse clone the clone with the updated files back onto your OS X partition, reboot the computer and it's like nothing happened.
    It's a advanced technique, you will have to learn a lot more perhaps before attempting it, but it's a lifesaver.
    Cloning requires another separate external hard drive and free cloning software.

    Haha .. I have seen one million post on this issue since 7.1 was released. Everybody hates it and it is perhaps Apple's stupidest design decision. I, personally, happen to like it ... or not mind it as much either way, I should say.
    But that's not what you asked ... Apple thought it was best for some odd reason to change the full screen pics to an itty bitty circle. As a previous poster said, it cannot be changed. But be sure to go to Apple's feedback website and let them know you are unhappy about it. I sense an iOS 7.1.1 coming out REAL soon!

  • How do you get full screen on MBPro with FaceTime??

    When I am on a FaceTime call, the viewing screen is about 1/3 of the screen.  When I click on "Full Screen" in the menu, it blanks the rest of the scrreen and moves the viewing screen from the middle to the left side.
    I would like to get a full screen to view when I am on a call in Facetime and would appreciate your help and suggestions.

    Bottom of the viewing area, on the right side of the little function bar, click the double ended arrow that is at a 45 deg angle.  The little inset window will move outside the frame and if he other person goes to Landscape mode you will get full frame.

  • Snow base station next to imac - yet not getting full strength reception?

    I have my snow base station sitting about 1 foot from my imac, yet only 3 out of the four bars are dark. Meaning I'm not getting full reception? Why is this is? I can't say I notice a significant difference in internet usage, but every little bit helps. I only have a cordless 5.8 ghz phone and my Harmon Kardon soundsticks speakers on the same desk. But from what I understand, 5.8 ghz are not supposed to interfere with cordless internet.
    Any suggestions?

    Duane, I've tried every channel and no improvement. The only thing I have discovered is if I hold the base station in my hand and lift it up above my head - I get full signal strength. However, if I hold it up and place it against the wall (as though I were to hang it), it drops back down to three bars.
    Do you think if I got the newest airport express, my signal strength would be better? Or do you think a more insulated ethernet cable would help? Or could it be my imac airport card?

    The hash part is entirely client side. You cannot get it on the server side. You need to pass it as request parameter or as part of real URL.
