Help getting my Unlocked Galaxy s5 Active onto Verizon Straight Talk!

I have a unlocked Galaxy S5 Active SM-G870A from AT&T. When I compared it to a regular Galaxy S5 they both have the frequencies needed for both GSM & CDMA. Also looking in the phones settings it can be set to CDMA/LTE and more. (A unlocked Galaxy S5 is supposed to work on any network)  But Straight Talk would not let me activate it with the Verizon CDMA SIM in my kit. I contacted Samsung and the conversation is as followed..

Wes: Straight talk would not activate it as a CDMA. It is working on at&t but at&t isn"t as good as Verizon where I live.
Aiden: Please contact your carrier so that they will check the carrier profile settings on their end and assist you further with it. 
Wes: They (straight talk) told me it was first active on at&t so they can't activate it for CDMA 
Aiden: Unfortunately, we don't have an option to activate carrier on your phone from our end.
Wes: Should the phone work with Verizon?
Aiden: Yes, you are correct.
Wes: I was wondering if the "A" at the end of the model # is showing the phone to be at&t only phone.
Aiden: SM-G870A is AT&T specified device and when unlocked from AT&T, you should be able to use it with Verizon.

On this link comparing the s5 & s5 active if you scroll down the page a little to where it shows the phones "TECHNOLOGY" they are almost identical. On the phone if I enter *#*#4636#*#* it gives me the option to switch it to just about any frequency there is. LTE/GSM, LTE/CDMA, GSM/CDMA,CDMA only, GSM only, WCDMA, EvDO, LTE only, and a few others.     Okay, I have had my phone unlocked by AT&T when I finished my two year contract.  I purchased a SIM from Straight Talk and when I received it, it was a Tracfone SIM.  I have used the unlockit.co.nz settings (APN) for Straight Talk.  I have used the settings that came with my SIM card.  I have tried settings suggested on wiki.  I am at a loss.  I can text message, but I cannot picture message (imessage works when I am on wifi) , or even use the internet unless I turn my wifi on.  Any suggestions?

    ST is no longer selling sim cards or offering AT&T BYOP service on their website and iOS has stoped supporting ST as far as being able to send MMS. There are hundreds of threads on various websites talking about this.  Because it is no longer possible to buy a ST sim card on their website, people are selling them for insane prices on eBay as mush as $100 or more.
    You can still buy an iPhone 5 through Straight Talk that uses Verizon. I am thinking this is why ST is no longer being supported on AT&T.

    I'm trying to activate my 3GS using straight talk. This is one I bought off ebay, it's "unlocked" but when I try to enter the Serial into straight talk it keeps asking me for the MEID and idk where to find that.

    Straight Talk sells you a SIM on their web site if you plan on bringing your own phone.  With the SIM, they provide you with a new Serial Number...do not use the one from your phone.

    PHones can only be unlocked from the carrier; if you're looking for an unlocked device I'd recommand buying it directly from Apple as that is the only way to promise it is, if you buy it second hand you may find it is locked to a carrier who doesn't support unlocking, or worst yet activation lock

    If they were purchased from the iTunes Store, File>Transfer Purchases in iTunes. If they were not, then you can't. Media sync is one way. Computer>iPhone.

    Yes ATT hides the APN settings so when you try to use a st sim it automatically reads on AT&T network so the APN settings are hidden and cannot be accessed however you can go to apn.straighttalk.com on you'r phone and select APN/data settings then select AT&T then iPhone and a screen will pop up asking if you would like to install the profile for whatever reason it's not verified but works fine. You can also go to www.unlockit.co.nz and set up a straight talk APN profile that is verified not sure exactly what that means but both work to get the data working on the phone for straight talk but it does not make the MMS work. There are a couple other methods I have read about one is on howardforums using ibackupbot to manually change the files on the phone I haven't been able to get mine to stick using that method but other people have and there is a sim swap method to trick the phone to reveal APN settings using a tmobile sim I have not tried this but other people have with success. The last two methods mentioned will make both data and MMS work

    I just figured out a solution.  I connected my ipod to my computer, went to the 'info' tab on the menu for my ipod.  I checked 'Sync Mail Accounts', which were greyed out until I selected them.  That connected me to the Cloud and everything went back to normal.  Hope this helps someone else!

    I think you should call via phone or perhaps take it to a phone store. I suggest taking your id, box packaging and other necessities such as the reciept of the phone being purchased.

    The above artical started to help.. but eventually I did the following:
    1) put device into DFU mode

    2) when connecting ipad to itunes, itunes was aware of DFU mode.  Just selected the update and itunes downloaded the correct new OS (iOS 7.0.2) and did it's thing.
    Note: there was no need to download an older version of iOS.  In fact, I was always rejected when attempting a downloaded ipsw.  iTunes always said, "This device isn't eligible for the requested build".
    Device Info: iPad 3 wifi.  Software was iOS beta 7 (7 release 5 I think).

    Maybe in the future but not now.
    You will have to purchase a new device on the other carrier.
    Unlocked for use in other countries is possible if it isn't already u locked from the factory.
