Help getting photos back from a backup

Yesterday My husband restored my iphone 4s from a backup at 7 am the same day. The reason he restored it was because our son had deleted an app. So when it restored all my photos were gone. I'm sure when I set the phone up I set it to store to the icloud. I haven't backed up on the computer in months and have tried to restore from the cloud from 2 days ago but same results.
If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks but have tried that - When I try to restore I get a -50 error and into a loop of taking another back up.  I took a copy of the back up before the IOS upgrade and have it stored on my desk top but I cannot get Itunes to restore to that back up

And Photostream would only have the latest 1000 pictures taken. You photos are in the hand of whomever stole your devices.

  • Getting photos back from iCloud Photo Stream

I just thought I would put this here as a way to fix at least one issue with iCloud Photo Stream. This was on my iPhone 4.
My kid plugged my iPhone into my wife's computer. It basically put all her information and set up on to my phone. I finally got it all set back up, but none of my photos or videos from photo stream were showing up on my phone. Everything else came back over, mail and contacts, but the photos did not show up. Usage showed that 2.5 out of my 5G still being used so it looked like they are there somewhere, they just wouldn't sync.
This is how I fixed it. At least somewhat. As of this time my videos have not come back yet, but they were rather large and it may take a while. I will try to update later as to whether they come back or not. All the photos are back.
    > I made sure that iCloud backup was ON, on the iPhone.
    > Turned off Photo Stream sync. This warns you that it will "Delete all photos on your phone". Make sure you dont have anything you care about on the phone currently. If you do, I would backup and then come back. Click Delete.
    > Turned Photo Stream back on.
    > Restart iPhone and plug in so it will be charging and make sure you have a wifi connection.
It may be that you should restart the phone before turning Photo Stream back on, but I actually turned it back on and then restarted. Anyways, this fixed this particular issue I had. Follow at your own risk .
I still think its ridiculous that you cannot view photo stream photos on iCloud.com. I really can't see paying for this service with the lack of features and bugginess.

Are you sure about the videos thing? I have 2.6G used on my iCloud account. The only things being synced were Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Bookmarks, Photo Stream and Find my iPhone. I only had 50 photos. There's no way that stuff takes 2.6G worth of storage space.
Secondly, I know all about backups. I do Apache webserver support for a very large university. But when something happens spur of the moment that you don't have control over, its very possible to lose stuff. I don't need to be quoted the manual. I was just trying to be helpful and share something that worked for me to get my photos back since there seem to be a large number of people with similar issues.
Frankly I find Apple's software to be extremely frustrating regarding iTunes and iOS. I have been in IT for 15 years and rarely have I found a software set that is so obtuse as iTunes and iOS. The error messages are NOT clear at all, the manual is equally muddy, and, for example in the case of a "Photo Stream" viewer in the iCloud.com, obvious features are COMPLETELY missing.  I cannot imaging actually paying for iCloud with the lack of features it currently has. For as much money and time Apple spends on researching device user friendlyness, I do not understand why their software is so UNuserfriendly.  I am NOT the only one with this opinion.

  • How do i get photos back from ipod

My laptop was stolen which is where I had all my pictures, I also had them on my ipod, I just bought a G5 intel based, is there a way to get my pictures back from my ipod on to my new computers hard drive.

    Hi borisky.
    (Sorry for Your Computer)
Well, yes. IF you use Hard Drive Mode on Your iPod,
You could be able to check out the PHOTO doc in "MY
    COMPUTER"-"iPod"-"PHOTO".
then you select the pictures. they should all appear
    there.
    Hope this heLps

  • HT201269 How do you get photos back from an iphone that was never backed up?

help!!! is there any way to get pictures restored from a phone that was never backed up to the icloud?

If you never backed up the photos anywhere, and they are no longer on the iPhone.... then they are gone.
Next time, back up your photos more regularly.  Use PhotoStream.  It's free.

  • Restored iPhone, Cannot get photos back from PC.

I had to restore my iPhone 4. I had already backed up my phone, and also transferred my iPhone photos to my PC.
I want to get my photos back off my PC onto my iPhone, so I ticked the 'Sync photos' setting in iTunes.
iTunes said the photos are not compatible with iPhone - despite all being on the iPhone in the first place.
Any idea how I can get them back onto the phone?
    Thanks.

sync them back using itunes http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236

  • Is there any way to get photos back from a 'corrupt' backup?

Basically a couple of weeks ago I bought a new iPhone 5S, and the night before I got this phone I made sure to backup my old iPhone 5. When I tried to restore backup my new 5S I waited half an hour thinking it was working but I was shown the message ‘iTunes could not restore the iPhone "*phone name*" because the backup was corrupt or is not compatible with the iPhone that is being restored". I am not particularly interested in backing my phone up to an earlier date my main concern is really all the photos I had on my latest backup.

Did you also have an iCloud backup? Did you enable Photo Stream? Had you ever synced your photos to your computer's photo management app? These would be the easiest ways to recover your photos. Beyond thatyou can try to find them in the backup with a backup extractor app for your computer. You can try googling for "iphone backup extractor". Skip any expensive ones; there are some excellent ones that are free or inexpensive.

  • My Library is gone. How do I get it back from a backup from last week?

I opened iTunes today and it force quit.
I reopened and it asked me to selecte which library to load
I went into the iTunes folder and clicked the most recent one, 9-12-06
when I realized that this was the wrong one, I deleted all the songs from the library and then followed the apple site's directions on how to re-create a library
I did not have enough harddrive space for this to complete, so I moved my iTunes Music folder (which has not lost any songs) onto a firewire drive.
then I tried to recreate the library but it couldn't find the songs
luckily, I backed up my music last week by dragging my entire Music folder into a firewire drive
I tried to drag all of that back into my current Music folder, but when I open iTunes, all that's left is the stuff from 9-12-06
is there any way for me to get my proper library data back?
I know i can just play all my songs and get them all back, but I want my ratings, playlists, etc back.
    thanks
    Powerbook G4   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

It will only be where you put it.
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion.  Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod.  File>Transfer Purchases.

  • How do I get my photos back from Beta?

Hi, for weeks mows I have been trying to get my photos back from icloud but I can't find them. I've read so many forums that say there is a bug and lots of other people saying they will be gone forever. when I follow the iCloud link it doesn't allow me to log in anywhere and I don't know what to do, can someone help me please? Many thanks in advance!!!

Hi Terence, when I upgraded to iOS 8 a pop up asked if I wanted to backup my photos in iCloud which I opted for and previously I had all my photos stored on a camera roll or my photo stream. I thought that this would store them in iCloud however when I go to iCloud it always asks me to set this up on my iPad which I have already done Rather than let me access the photos. In the settings area I have the iCloud photo library (Beta) switched on and it's currently set to optimise storage, I just can't get into wherever these photos are stored. I'm not tech savvy at all but I have read and searched everywhere on what to do (and tried some options) but I'm wondering now if I am like some other users who report that their photos went missing also when this service was launched as I did this a few months ago. Apologies for my lack of knowledge here!!!

  • How can I get my photos back from icloud

How can I get my photos back from my iPhone 4 on the icloud I got my music and my contacts but for some reason I can not get my photos.

    Hi sadie,
When you did the backup, were the 1500 pictures all on your camera roll? Or were they on other Albums?
iCloud is not a storage device for your photos. You should be importing them to a computer or uploading them to a cloud storage facility like DropBox or Flickr.
Each time you do a backup of to iCloud, it creates a backup of what is on your phone at that moment in time. So, if you had some photos on one backup, but not the other, you would only be able to "recover" the photos from one of those backups. Photos in iCloud are not aggregative.
Also, the iCloud backup of photos only includes those photos or videos in the Camera Roll. Photos in any other album are not backed up:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12519?viewlocale=en_US
If you had PhotoStream turned on, then the last month's-worth of PhotoStream, or the last 1000 PhotoStream photos would also still be viewable.
Can you tell us where those 1500 photos were located when you did your backup?
Sorry that you lost your photos. Take a look at DropBox in the App Store, or check out Flickr. If you aren't importing your photos on a regular basis to a computer, then these would be your best bet to protect your photos going forward.

  • How do I get my photos back from my iPhone that's been stolen

I lost my iPhone 5 not all my pics on there saved to photo stream I've blocked the phone but wanted to know how I get my photos from my phone back threw iCloud

You can't get them back from iCloud. Unless you imported the photos to your computer or unless you backed up all of the photos in iCloud and you have another iOS device from which you can restore the phone backup - you can't recover the photos. iCloud is not for storage of files, photos and data that you can selectively download to your computer or iOS device. iCloud is for backups of your devices.
