I installed Winamp and my sound stopped working, no audio device connected it said when I checked my sound options. A window pop ups when I try to play music in Winamp that says :
DirectSound output v2.42 (d) error
Bad DirectSound driver. Please install proper drivers or select another device in configuration. Error code 8878000A
Any help? I have Soundblaster Li've for a 8000 series Dell. Thanks
Very hard to help amateurs some times. But here goes.. try to extract the drivers you tried to install, to a folder. Then in that folder you should have another folder called drivers/setup.exe. Use that setup.exe to install the driver, you should get up a "creative Driver update utility" box. Tick the box "overwrite existing shared...." and press ok button. Now it should start to install the drivers.
You said that the problem started with winamp install. Maybe Winamp installed some corrupt codecs. You should download winamp and windows media codec?s and try to install both again.

Best way is to get your own Apple ID, but until then have him go to Settings > Message > Receive at and remove your phone number.

How do I sync my iPhone 5 to my new PC? iTunes will not recognize it even when plugged in the USB port. Settings>General>iTunes wifi sync is still my old laptop. Any help is appreciated.

- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost

- Try another cable
- Look at the dock connector on the iPod. Look for abnormalities like bent or corroded contacts, cracked or broken plastic.

Hi there,
You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.

I had a problem with the hard disk on a 13" 2010 macbook pro. Replaced the hard disk with an Hitachi 1TB disk but when I tried to erase and format, it fails with input/output error and at other times saying unable to allocate memory. Any help much appreciated!

Need help setting up airport express as bridge (Any help is appreciated)
Hello so before my wifi was switched I was able to use my 802.11g airport express as a wifi card for the xbox 360. I then decided to upgrade my main base station from an 802.11g base station to and airport extreme 802.11n. My problem is that my airport express cant extend the airport extreme network to my xbox anymore because they are different 802.11 versions. So can anyone help me configure this so I can get this back? Any help is appreciated.
My Current Setup:
Internet => Airport Extreme 802.11n => Wireless => Airport Express 802.11g (to extend network for xbox)=> Ethernet => Xbox 360
Thanks!As I said, WDS is a nightmare for most users. Apple hides the settings from users to discourage use of WDS.
I do not recommend that you do this, but have a feeling that you will do this anyway.
I will not be able to help you sort out WDS problems.
On AirPort Utility 5.6, click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab below the icons
Hold down the option key on your Mac while you click on the Wireless Mode selection box and the WDS settings will appear

Try resetting the ipad hold down the sleep/wake and home button and the same time until the apple logo appears then release . Then try again to see if the map app works

I'm trying to transfer data (docs, emails) from an old G4 iMac running OS 10.3.9 to brand new iMac on 10.8.1 I'm stuck, any help greatly appreciated. (Ethernet or wifi networking are both options if I can figure out how to get the machines to communicate.)

All you need is a firewire cable. Connect the Firewire socket on the old machine to the Firewire socket on your new iMac.
Then start the old machine in Target Mode (i.e. by holding down the T key on its keyboard, while it's starting up, until you see the three-legged T icon hopping around the screen of the old machine.)
At that point you will also see a new icon on the screen of your new iMac. This is the hard drive of your old machine. By clicking on it you can navigate through it any way you like, just as you would normally.
Just drag across whatever you want from the old computer to the new one. This will leave everything on the old computer untouched.
- or use Migration Assistant but in my experience, Migration Assistant isn't very reliable and fails to migrate large amounts of stuff. -

Initially all locations are set to zero. The column indices 0 through 6 represent the days Sunday through Saturday, respectively.
I am trying to complete the code ion MonthMatrix class. The constructor, MonthMatrix will set the matrix to all zeros. The setMonth() method replaces the appropriate positions in the matrix with the dates for the month. For example, if MonthMatrix M = new MonthMatrix(); then the call M.setMonth(2,30) would change the Display matrix to :
