Help: Having issues exporting (no video, only audio)

I created 3 movies that I now need to export. I initially exported them for import to iDVD so I could create a DVD for the collection. But, in iDVD, the movies are messed up. The video won't play and you can't see what it is. I can hear the background music I included in the movies, but that's it.
Thinking it might simply be an iDVD issue, I tried exporting to QuickTime, but the same problem occurs. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do? Or, maybe some idea of what I may be doing wrong would be helpful.

If by "the video won't play" you mean that is displays a "black" screen but audio plays normally, the usual answer is the codec used for you source file. Apple Animation and Video files will import and edit normally in iMovie '08. However, they currently export with this "black" screen as if a slug were placed on top of your video content during export which also, by the way, seems to drag you video data rate down to little more than that needed for your audio content. As to which is the cause and which is the end effect, no one seems to know. However, this problem has existed since release day one. Since many programs (like LiveType and Snapz Pro X) use the Animation codec as an "intermediate" rendering compression format, this topic is continuously coming up in the forum. The normal solution is to go back and convert your source file to another compatible format, re-edit your project, and remember not to use these codecs in the future (or until Apple fixes the problem or elects to error trap the codec to avoid wasting user time).
