Help, HD Video Out From Timeline? How?

Hi
What is the Solution for play out footage from the timeline in Final Cut Pro HD-Video out to a HD LCD Monitor? Canopus has no solution, and I was looking at the Aja hardware also. I need HDMI out I think ? Your thoughts on what works? Thanks, Tim C.
What Card is reasonable? or What converter needed? Blackmagic Card possibly?

most of the cards are HD SDI out on BNC connectors. blackmagic makes a box called HD link that allows an HD SDI signal to be mapped 1:1 pixel wise to either DVI-D or HDMI. Your monitor will need to be 1920 x 1080+ for it to work. It Appears you will need both the card and the adapter. I'm using a Kona2 and the hdlink for the client monitor and it works fine. I use a real HD mon for critical evaluation. the info re this adapter and recommended monitors is here http://www.blackmagic-design.com/products/hdlink/

  • Video out from MacBook Pro to HDTV - no solution?

I've had this problem for over a year now and nobody has been able to help me solve it, not even the Apple guys. I need to get the video out from my MacBook Pro (Mini DisplayPort) to my HDTV which is an older model which only has Y/Pb/Pr analogue video inputs. Does anyone know which connectors I can use in order to get 1080i on my TV? My thoughts were MDP to VGA first so that we get an analogue signal, and then VGA to Y/Pb/Pr? Would this work? Why/why not? Please help!!!

See whether this sounds like it might be the answer:

Backing up an iOS device will copy some data to a backup file within iTunes, but this excludes all media.  You can also transfer iTunes Store purchases from the iDevice to iTunes but, without using a third-party tool, nothing else.  As long as you do not sync the iPod with your new library, the media that's on it will remain ... for as long as it keeps functioning, is not lost, stolen, eaten by the dog, ...
You may also have an option to recover your previous library from your old laptop; as long as its hard drive isn't fried, a computer repair store or technician may be able to extract the drive, mount it in an external enclosure, and copy your data to another PC.  Whatever you choose, there is no real alternative to having all your media on your computer, managed by iTunes, and regularly backed up to another device/location.

my samsung says video out from i pad is not supported. i am connecting with apple dock using hdmi. I do get the audio  any suggestions?

    Jeffrey-
If the HDMI input to the Samsung is not compatible, does it have a VGA or composite input?  I have both the HDMI and VGA adapters for the iPad, which work with the small Vizio HDTV I tried.  I understand a composite video adapter is also available.

  • HDMI out from Timeline

    Hi,
I am doing a job for an Art Gallery, in which I have to shoot, and do a quick edit (no effects), and output to a Full HD 1920x1080 TV.
I intend to buy a Panasonic AG-HMC70U Shoulder Mounted Camcorder, which stores AVCHD 1080/60i (NTSC) video in SD/SDHC Cards.
I intend to buy a Sony VAIO F VPCF127FX/B 16.4" Notebook Computer, with Windows 7 Premium 64 bit, processor 1.73GHz Intel Core i7-740QM, 6 GBs RAM, and nVIDIA GeForce GT 330M with 1GB Dedicated.
Will I be able to output directly from CS-5 Timeline to TV, through notebook's HDMI out?
    Thank you,
    Ronaldo

    Thanks a lot robodog2
I have a few questions bellow in red:
I would get 1 Terabyte drives instead...they are not expensive. You might need the extra room if you have to do some exports to files.  Get the fastest ones you can for editing...esata better than fw800...make sure you turn off indexing and format NTFS and assign specific drive letters to the externals...put tape on driive with the drive letter you gave it clearly marked. If you dont you will have a hard time swapping them and maintaining links with your project(s).
    Agree.
    dont partition any drives
    Agree.
when you say dvd you mean of course Blue Ray...for HD....  dvd is for SD....just dont forget when you look for disc burners.
Yes...Blue Ray, I keep saying DVD....
There's a program called neoscene by cineform that a lot of people use for avchd footage....you might want to look into having that just in case.
    I'll check into it.
Test the tv -- output real footage from timeline to the same HD Tv you plan to use at show ....output to make sure it likes interlaced footage.
Here is the catch, I'm in Brazil, and this work will happen in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and we arrive 1 day before....this is why i'm trying to prepare as much as possible, in theory, before hand....
You'll probably put OS and program on C drive
    Agree.
put pagefile on 2nd drive 1.5 x your ram with min and max size the SAME MAX SIZE so it never gets fragmented...do that first thing so the pagefile is near the center of disc.  I guess you said 2 internal and 3 external ? so you can put your scratchdisk on disc 2 also...and assets and any exports you need to do on the externals...
I will have 2 Sony VAIO F VPCF127FX/B 16.4" Notebook Computer, with Windows 7 Premium 64 bit, processor 1.73GHz Intel Core i7-740QM, 6 GBs RAM, and nVIDIA GeForce GT 330M with 1GB Dedicated.
    So, here you lost me...
1 - How do I - 1.5 x your ram with min and max size the SAME MAX SIZE so it never gets fragmented
2 - How do I do this pagefile to start at center of dics?
I will only have one internal disc, dedicated for OS.
Scratchdisk, assets and exports - I will have 3 external discs in total, one to edit, one for playing to, and the third one for copying....
plan on having an "emergency" helper that REALLY knows whats up with the computer and editing stuff in case you get stuck and have to focus on shooting and need help ...line that up beforehand.
    Agree.
go to the gallery and see if you can do anything to enhance the lighting or color correct lights, windows etc beforehand...
test everything .....so you dont have surprises that make you crazy on the day.
That will be impossible as we arrive 1 day before...I'm taking my lights, tripods, color gels...
    good luck  sounds like fun..
    Thanks a lot...

  • Mini-Dvi to Video out from Final Cut Pro working

Thanx Everybody for posting reply for my post regarding running video out to external TV from Final Cut Pro in MacBook.
    It's working fine.

@ Studio X : The files were originally created with Final Cut Pro, rendered out to QuickTime, then are being played back with Final Cut Pro. The file that has the most noticable studdering is a 60-minute timeline sequence in Final Cut. All files are being stored and played back from the Mac Mini's internal hard drive. Everything was originally shot on DV and formatted for a 4:3 aspect ratio.
@ Shane Ross : Are there any settings in the MacOS or FCP where I can improve the HDMI video signal? Or do you know of / have any experience with Firewire to HDMI converters? Unfortunately, my new signal path relies on HDMI from the video playback.
My current setup uses the Firewire output, which is then converted to composite video & analog audio using a pair of ageing DV tape decks. That setup is becoming troublesome due to age.

  • Video out from ipod classic

OK, so I have an Ipod Classic. I jsut got the DYNEX IPAVC cable, and that doesnt work (no video, audio only). I also have an Accurian Dock-same deal, no video, only audio. Ive read a bunch that the Classics require newer hardware to get video to work. However, it seems like all the cables on the apple store that should work have been discontinued? How on earth do i get the video to play on my TV? Please help...thanks....

ill have to check that page out and see. i was on this page
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1454
and the composite and component cables say no longer available
    Apple Composite AV Cable
    (part number MB129LL)
    Apple Component AV Cable
    (part number MB128LL)
but it looks like you are correct. thats cool.
I had the TV Out setting to ON or ASK, and when i would do that, it would ask for the video out to be plugged in, even though they already were plugged in. I saw someone else had that same issue. I think its that these cables (The Dynex), even though they are advertised as such, do not work with the classic.
EDIT: Is all i need the composite cable? I dont need the dock, correct?

  • Video out from the headphone jack died... 30gb 5g

    Hi all.
So, I have a 30gb 5g ipod. I have played video out of the headphone jack to a tv for years now. I have the apple version of the video out cable. So, recently, the video stopped playing. The audio plays. YES, it is set to tv out = on, NTSC. This worked fine. Now no video. Video DOES play on the ipod itself. And, I bought an expensive dock cable that has composite out and that does work for video. So, I am just wondering what happened to my video from the headphone jack. I guess I could try to get it fixed, but is it worth it? Any ideas would be appriciated! Thanks!!

OK, I was DETERMINED to figure this one out...simply because it USED to work...
Somehow (last 'update' I assume)...my 'TV out' was turned off.
On my 80GB model, it was under menu > videos > video settings > TV Out
I just turned it 'on' and I was back in business...of course it doesn't make up for last weekend, when I was out of town trying to get the darn thing to work...but at least it works now.
    Hope this helps.

  • How do i sing out from hotmail/ how to open camera when i chat with messenger

how to i sing out from hotmail????????... it says coudn't sign out because web brower cookie........
how to open camera when i chat using messenger?????????

Thanks for your help - I am frustrated that I can't figure this out. I am not getting any error messages but here is what happes. I plug in the IPAD and it shows up in the left hand colum in itunes but it does not sync to ITUNES. When I click on the IPAD, it shows me the tabs but that nothing is actually on the IPAD hard drive. When I click on transfer files manually, the "apply" button does not work. When I turn off the transfer files, the apply button still does not work. So next, I tried the music button, and it does ask whether to "apply" but when I click on apply, nothing happens. Under the music tab, it only shows music that I purchased from ITUNES but not all the music that I purchased on CD and transfered to ITUNES.

  • Video out from iPhone 3GS to TV.

Can I use the standard (3 phono plugs on the end) video out lead I already have to view keynote presentations from my iPhone 3GS on my TV/Projector?

    Same problem here.
I can't get any video out of my faithful iPhone 3GS running iOS 6.xx.
I have been browsing Apple discussions for solutions and most of them seem to point out to a faulty Video Composite cable. This is not my case.
I can rule that out 100%.
Old iPhone 3G running ios 3.1.2 works just fine as well as does iPhone 4, with the same cable.
I have tried with a friend's TV and cable and iPhone 3GS and we have identical issues.
(different cables and phones, same issue).
Please note all testing has been done with genuine Apple Video composite cables.
So this points out clearly to a iphone iOS issue combined with hardware.
It appears that starting from iOS > 5.0 video output has been disabled on earlier iPhone models prior to 4.
It would be nice if Apple could issue a Knowledge Base document on the issue as that would save many people further testing and waste of time.
This document http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4108? isn't really complete enough as it stops at iphone 4.
Has anybody the ultimate answer on this issue?
    Are there any known work-arounds?
    Thanks and regards
    Pieter

  • Video Out from early 2009 Mac Mini

Is there any way to go from one of the video outs on the Mini to a converter of some sort, then to video input or S video input on a TV monitor? I see that the Mini DVI to Video does not work with my version of the Mac Mini. Any other solutions?

    Grant Lenahan wrote:
The additional pins do little. A DVI-I plug will work with either.
What do you think wont work?
A DVI monitor will work on DVI or DVI-I.
A DVI-I monitor will work on DVI or DVI-I
Dont believe me? Try it ( or read the spec).
    Grant
You commented as to why make the special connector. I gave an answer based upon the original question to this post which is about +_getting a analog composite video or S-video signal to a Mini, NOT a DVI monitor_+.
Apple makes and sells an adapter to provide composite and S-video from the DVI connector of certain Mac models of Macbook Pro and Mac Pro. (I use one.) But since the Mini does not produce the analog signals, the adapter will not work, even if you could physically plug it in to the Mini. So if Apple did as you say and made the computer with the connector to use either a DVI-D or DVI-I adapter, in my example, if the aforementioned person with lesser technical knowledge plugged in the S-video connector to the Mini, they'd be angry that it didn't work. Again to avoid the "Why would Apple sell something that wouldn't work on my computer if it fits?!" type of support calls.

  • Video out from MBA to non-HDMI television?

Hello, I'm sure this has been asked in the past, but . . . Is there anyway to get video that is streamed over Wifi to my MBA 13" late 2011 to connect to my circa 2003 Hitachi plasma TV without HDMI?
The TV is cabable of showing 780 HD video (I have an HD cable box), but right now I use component video cables from my cable box. Options would be some sort of Thunderbolt to component cable converter (if this even exists) or some way to connected a non-Wifi enabled TV to the Web. The TV has componet and composite inputs
Someone told me that the Wii will output to composite. True?

    Hi there.
Glad you are enjoying the wide variety of apps available on the App Store.
To connect your non-HDMI compatible television to your iPad, you may try using a component cable for iPad (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC917ZM/A?fnode=MTc0MjU4NjE) or a composite cable for iPad (http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC748ZM/A?fnode=MTc0MjU4NjE).
While the VGA adapter will work if your television supports VGA, I am not certain of (and would not recommend) using an adapter.
Hope this helps, and good luck getting your problem solved. Let us know if you need any additional help.
