HELP HELP HELP! Just upgraded from XP to Vista
Hello All!
After 12 hours, I am ready to cry.
I did a clean install of Vista from XP. I have Z61m
I installed all microsoft updates.
My main problem is that I cannot get on the internet no matter what I do.
WIndows installed an Atheros WIreless Adapter but it's not working. I have a wireless Pre-N router.
TImeWarnerCable nor Belkin could help me.
I installed the intel pro wireless for Vista from Lenovo but I think the driver is missing.
I don't know what is wrong but I am close to pulling my hair out.
Someone PLEASE HELP ME.
If there is any advice you can give me....PLEASE DO!

I have just upgraded from a Macbook to a Macbook Air. I have been using a iomega external hard drive for Time Machine, which use a Firewire. However, Macbook Air's do not have a Firewire port and i cannot find an adaptor anywhere. Can anyone help?? Thanks
There has never been a reliable firewire ---> USB adapter suitable for external high speed storage. This was a major issue when the MacBooks lost the firewire port a number of years ago (Apple subsequently brought it back).
The only high speed port on the Air is the ThunderBolt port. There are external ThunderBolt drive options out there, but they're somewhat more expensive than traditional USB/FireWire options. -
I have recently just upgraded from my old white powerpc G5 which did not allow me to edit in HD and I had to down convert all my footage to edit in DV. I have bought the newest FCP studio, and I had to order a new firewire as my new desktop does not take the old one that I had before. The new firewire that I have which is the only one that fits into my iMac from my sony Z1 is a Firewire IEEE1394-B (800) 9 pin to 4 pin .
My Mac : Processor- 2.8 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory- 4GB 1333 MHz DDR3
All my settings are set to HD and the ilink convert is off, and VCR is set to auto. Why is it not reading my Z1???

Just upgraded from OS 10.3.9 to 10.4: Safari problems
I just upgraded from Mac OS 10.3.9 to Tiger 10.4; everything is working fine, except as follows:
1. Software Update does not work. It seems that it tries to connect to the Apple servers (I can see the router and modem lights blinking), but a connection does not take place (the lights blink a couple of times every few seconds).
2. Safari connects without any problems to this and other Apple Support forums, but not to any of the bookmarks in the Bookmarks menu.
Also, I believe that I may have caused the problem, and will give the details hoping that my problems with Safari may help others solve theirs. I may have made a mistake right after "upgrading" to OS 10.4, specifically after the required restart.
When my iMac G5 restarted, a registration form showed on the screen. The form was the data on my account. My account is not an Administrator account, but a "User" account instead. There was an option to change the account's "User's name," so I went ahead and slightly changed it by adding a "dot" to my first name initial (I don't use my first name, just my initial).

-So I changed the account name by adding a "dot" (.) right after the initial, to look as follows: R.
Right after making the change, I had the option to immediately connect to Apple and REGISTER, however, a connection could not be established or the computer was not responding, so I clicked on "Register Later" and quit.
Mail works fine, and so the DSL modem and router. I can access this forum, but Safari tries but can't to connect to other forums.
Do you think that by changing the User Account's name I may have screwed things up? I have tried MS's Explorer, but it too shows the same problems.
Any ideas on what to do at this point?Steven: I know that the problems I had with Safari is not similar to yours, but I ended erasing the hard drive and reinstalling Tiger four times (I have posted the full story in a couple of Apple forums).
On the pre-final try i removed the router from the computer and only used the DSL modem. However, I decided to use Safari between Software updates, and again Safari stopped working, as well as Software Update. I had removed every USB and Firewire cable, set-up the network to stay active without interruptions, set the computer to stay awake forever, the screen to stay awake for over three hours, and the hard drive to stay awake.
Then on the final erasing/installing, I made sure that I didn't use Safari until every little update was finished all the way to a complete Mac OS 10.4.2. Once that was accomplished I used Safari, and I have been using it since.
A friend of mine is upgrading the router's firmware, just in case that was par t of the problem, but I don't think it was, since the router was out of the picture on the pre-final session.
I believe that for some reason OS 10.4 screwed the Network panel functions. If you just look at the settings they seem to be OK, but not really. The problem may be related to the G5 CPU and how Mac OS 10.4 works with it. While I was having a myriad of network problems, I could connect to the Internet, retrieve my mail, etc. using my son's Mini, as well as an old Mac 7300. Both of these worked just fine connected to the network (router and DSL). Only my iMac G5 would not work. -

I've just upgraded from a 3GS to an iPhone 4. I succesfully transfered everything. A few apps needed updates, no problem I thought.
How wrong was I??! Its says I need to authorise my account as its been accesed from a different device, fair enough, I entered my details & it says my payment method has been declined. So I tried another account, different card etc same problem! I have money in both accounts, & Im not trying to purchase anything!!
This is doing my head in, apps need updates & I was fancying a few new ones but I cant get any. Can anyone help?Welcome to the Apple community.
Are the photos that you are referring to part of a camera roll, photo stream or are they simply photos that you have synced from your computer via iTunes. -

The 'Backup/sync to Photoshop.com' functionality is no longer supported in PSE11. Instead of Photoshop.com we have added support for Import/Export to Adobe Revel. Try this out and let us know your feedback. Help. I just upgraded. Before I did I backed up everything from my old iPad to the iCloud. Then I turned one my new iPad and download everything. Problem is that all my apps just say. Installing, but I can't get into the apps....
Try cancelling the installations and starting them again.

I have just upgraded from CS 6 (Dreamweaver) and now when I click on a picture on a web page in Dreamweaver it doesn't go to the folder where the photo is stored anymore. If this continues I'll have to go back to CS 6 as I have to put in alot of photos.
I am using dw cc and I just double click picture I want to change in dreamweaver cc and my image folder opens, select new photo and then it updates and I am good to go, I am using a mac

I just upgraded from Logic Express to Pro. When I open a project in Finder and neither Express nor Pro are running, it always opens in Express. I now want projects to open in Pro. "Open With ..." says Express is the default. How can I make Pro the default instead?

I have just upgraded from Lightroom 5 standalone to Lightroom 6 standalone. I appear to have been automatically enrolled for a 30 day free trial of Lightroom Mobile and Creative Cloud. Reading the FAQ, it appears that after the expiry of the free trial, if I do not sign up and pay, I will only be able to view my pictures on the desktop but not edit them - surely this cannot be true. How do I un-enroll for the 30 day free trial of Lightroom Mobile and CC?
When I was signed into Adobe (which was a requirement for installing the upgrade), Lightroom 6 told my at the top right corner that I had 30 days left of my free trial of Lightroom Mobile and Creative Cloud. In parallel with this forum posting, I am chatting with Adobe support. he is away to find out how to prevent any synching with Creative Cloud during the 30 day free trial. I do not think that Creative Cloud is an application that gets installed on your PC. I think Lightroom 6 has it built in, and can use it if if you are signed up to the Creative Cloud and Lightroom Mobile (which I am for 30 days)

I recently upgraded my OS to Lion 10.7.4. I also just upgraded from a 1st Generation Time Capsule to a 4th Generation Time Capsule. I have an Airport Express (Version A1264) that I formerly used to extend my wireless network. Airport Express no longer connects to my network. I have downloaded Airport Utility 5.6 to try and configure, but with no luck.
TC first gen was not simultaneous dual band. So.. it's probably best to factory reset your extreme and then tell it to extend again.

I have just upgraded from Elements/Premiere elements 11 to version 12. I am running on a PC with Windows 7. When I try to run video from the existing catalogue or video newly imported I get a window stating "....system does not have the required compressor/decompressor (codec) installed" Where has it gone?
