Did you try plugging it in? With the information you have provided, the only course of action I can suggest is plugging it into a power source, then holding the lock and home button simultaneously for about 10-15 seconds, until you see the Apple logo. I am no pro, but that's solved similar problems for me in the past.

Take it into Genius Bar for an exact quote, but it sounds very bad.
The screen is only supposed to bend *so far* ... you exceeded that, which means screen/hinge repairs.
The impact may have damaged the logic board as well.
You may decide to buy a new one instead.
But first ask your home owner's insurance agent if their policy covers this.

Hmmm, I am not sure if there is another way. Since the battery is not removable for users and the 8 second -3 buzzes press don't work, I don't think there are another way to get it off.
Try connect the charger to it and do the 8 second press again, if not I think you will have to either let the battery run out untill it turns off it self or take it to a Nokia care point.

i cannot get my ipod to turn off, the only way it will turn off is if i put it in my altec lansing in motion speakers and turn the power off on the speakers. if i reset the ipod would this help,also does resetting your ipod make you lose all your songs on your ipod?

I have had the same problem and resetting helps. it happened again today and used up all it's batterys before i got a chance to listen to any music very annoying. A reset wont affects your music but a restore will.
To Reset
1. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Slide it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
2. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons until the Apple logo appears, about 6 to 10 seconds. You may need to repeat this step.

- Try on another computer

If the battery is totally out of juice. You need about a few minutes for the wall charger to give enough power to turn it on. Press the sleep button after few minutes to see whether you can see the battery charging symbol on the screen.

I just tried this and the updated went through smoothly. But now will i have to disable macafee virus scan every time i want to update my shuffle?

HT1320 I have a new IPod Touch 5G, 32 gb and suddenly it will not turn on, and will not restore using UTunes. Any help appreciated.

I have tried many times to restore my new IPod Touch 5G in I Tunes and it will not allow me to do it. My Ipod will not turn on at all even when on a fresh charge. See if your Mac will boot from the install DVD.
Then uninstall Internet Cleanup.

Contacts are designed to be synced to a supported application on the computer or a cloud service.
Pictures taken with the device are designed to regularly be copied off the device to a computer as would be done with any digital camera.
If you have failed to use the device as designed it may be too late to recovery anything.
Is the device regularly backed up to a computer via iTunes? If so, the most recent backup (when restored to a replacement iOS device) should contain all contacts and pictures as of when the backup was created.

Hi there,
Firstly, try a hard reset. Hold the sleep/wake and home buttons together until the Apple logo appears.
If this doesn't work, try restoring your device. Put it in recovery mode if iTunes doesn't recognise it, and restore it from there. I have linked to instructions below.
