Help hooking up my Sony KDS-60A2000

I just bought a Sony KDS-60A2000 hd television. I have a Belkin cable to hook my Mini to the HDMI input on the Sony. I hooked everything up and the Mini came up on the Sony. The picture then became gradually snowy then went black. I have been unable to get it to work since. Suggestions?

I have actually changed course on how I am going to hook up the mini. First off the Mini is a G4 and not a new Intel. In the manual for the Sony it says to not hook up a computer to the HDMI input. The Sony does have a PC input which is an RGB connector I believe. It says to use an HD15-HD15 cable. So now my updated question is what do I need to hook the Mini up to the Sony using the PC input? Thanks.

  • How to hook up a Sony RF Wireless Headphone

I want to hook up my Sony RF Wireless Headphones to my television system.  All inputs to the TV -  including Direct TV and various DVD players - are HDMI through a Yamaha Tuner.  The HDMI inputs are digital and there is no analog audio output availabe on the tuner or TV to interface with the headphones.  Do you have any suggestions on how I can hook up the RF wireless headphonees to my system?

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forums.
The Sony Wireless RF headphones should have a base where the headphones attach and charge. The same base should have RCA inputs(RED/WHITE) where the RCA from the TV AUDIO OUT should be placed. The TV must have AUDIO OUT for the headphones to operate correctly. If you need further assistance please contact Sony Support  for any further assistance.

  • How does everyone hook up there Sony Beta Deck to capture in FCP?

    Hello all,
I have a Sony Betacam SP UVW1800 and I am wondering how you hook it up to a Powermac G5 so I can start capturing some footage ... I am assuming that I need to get some kind of converter to firewire. Any suggestions??

I use an AJA Io for uncompressed capture, and I think it is really great. It does a fantastic job with the transcoding to any SD format and has been pretty much bulletproof. I would concur with Greg Jio that AJA's technical support is excellent. I have had highly educational exchanges with then evey time I have needed support.
As far as a solution that provides component input and RS-422 deck control, it's the only one I have experience with, but I highly recommend AJA solutions.
Keep in mind that working with uncompressed video requires fast drives and more stoarge space. I use a FW 800 external RAID, or an internal SATA RAID, and have heard that uncompressed will also work fine on "soft RAIDs" such as you can create by simply formatting a set of drives inside your Mac Pro case without a dedicated RAID controller card.

  • Sony KDS-70XBR2 " green blob" issue

Ok today I called Best Buy service and was surprised to say  the experience was exceptional. They were helpful and knowledgeable and got me a new part ordered and Service called booked in about Minis.
For those of you with a Sony rear projection TV you need to know that Sony has a class action suit and lost for the optical blocks in the RP sets. Probably why they discontinued this model. The geek squad knew of the issue and added that this was a case where Sony went cheap on a adhesive in the optical block and they are paying for it now.
The replacement is very hard so nothing you can do by yourself. Oh and to buy a new optical block you are looking at about 900-1500 dollars.
    This is a good link with lots of info regarding this optical block issue;

I wanted to let people know I had a GREAT experience today and hopefully my set is back to being spectacular as it was a couple of days ago before the " green blob" appeared.
I will post back here to tell you how I made out.

Thank you for being conscientious enough to post a positive experience.
The Sony "green blob" issue is far more widespread than SOny would have you believe.  Their LCoS system, meant to try and rival the superior DLP light engine, was never really what it was supposed to be.  That is why LCoS and D-ILA died a rather quick death in the industry, lasting only 3 or 4 years.  In the end, the technology was far too cokplicated, was still LCD based, and could not compete with DLP for picture quality.

There should be outputs you can use for video/audio. The latest Apple TV has HDMI out. Find the correct cable that matches your TV and follow Sony's user manual to hook everything up correctly.

  • Busted Screen, Need Help Hooking Up Monitor

The screen on my Powerbook is totally busted so I tried hooking up a monitor to it, but it seems to not be working correctly. All I see is my desktop picture, and no icons (like the HD or folders on my desktop), dock, or even the menu bar are not showing up. At first, I thought it was a ratio issue since the monitor is more square than the laptop screen, and therefore cutting the edges out where the menu bar, etc. would lie, but I'm pretty sure that's not the issue. I'm guessing I have to go into my system prefs and set the computer up to work with the monitor, but the problem is since the screen's totally shot, I can't even go in and do that. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Hi, hobageeba. What is the maximum resolution offered by your external monitor (consult its manual or the manufacturer's online specs for it)?
If the external monitor's maximum resolution (1024 x 768 or 1600 x 1200, for example) is as large as or larger than the maximum resolution of your Powerbook's display, you may be able to get a normal desktop — including the menu bar, desktop icons, etc. — displayed on the external monitor by pressing the F7 key on the Powerbook's keyboard. That should toggle the external display from Extended Desktop mode into Display Mirroring mode, in which the same video signal is sent to both displays, allowing you to use the external as the main display. (Note: under some circumstances, toggling F7 has no effect — and I don't know what circumstances, or why not. If it doesn't seem to do anything, it probably hasn't done anything, and it won't be helpful to you.)
Typically, if the external monitor's resolution is higher than the built-in display's, a mirrored video image will be displayed in the center of it surrounded by black, instead of filling the monitor. That wastes screen real estate, but at least you know you're seeing the whole desktop, and if your monitor is good, the image will be as sharp as it was on the built-in display when it worked.
If the external monitor has a lower maximum resolution than the built-in screen, the results of switching to Mirrored mode are less predictable. You may see only the center of the desktop, with the menu bar, hard drive icon, and other icons that were at the edges of the desktop "displayed" outside the edges of the external monitor. In that case it may be impossible to tell the difference between Mirrored and Extended Desktop modes, depending on what your desktop background image is. I don't know of a way to overcome that.
Whatever you find out about the monitor's resolution, give the F7 toggle a try and see what happens.

  • Help hooking up new-Blu Ray player to old receiver

    Hi,
I just bought a Blu-Ray player and was hoping to just pull the cables out of my old Proscan DVD player (which is hooked up properly to my receiver) and plug them into the new player.
However, the new player has space for two audio-out cables and one video-out cable (Y). The old player has the same two audio-out cables but has three video-out cables (Pb, Pr, and Y).
I tried just hooking the Y into the new player and leaving the other two cables unplugged, but that leaves me with a fuzzy image on screen.
Do I need some sort of converter, or should I have bought a Blu-Ray player with the same cable setup? The one I bought is a Samsung BD-D5700. None of my components are HDMI. My Denon receiver has the same 3 video-out plugs as the old DVD player.
I'd appreciate any help you can offer!
    Sue

  • Need help hooking up my daughters computer on my wireless router.

I am totally new to the wireless world.  I just bought a lynksys Wireless-G WRT54G wireless router.  I hooked my new Dell XPS400 via the wired connection and my son's Dell inspiron notebook up via wireless.  My daughter just got back from Hong Kong with a Toshiba computer and it sees my wireless network but it is asking for different information than my son's computer did.  All I had to do with his was give the Key code and reboot the computer and he was able to get right on.  Her computer is asking for the "Network Name (SSID)", "Network Authentication" and "Data Encryption", none of which am I sure what it wants.  The only block calling for a key # is grayed out.
Is there anyone who might can give me some guidance on this?
    Thanks

  • Help hooking up IMac Chrome 24" to Onkyo tx-606 to Panasonic Plasma

I have a 24" iMac Chrome, a Onkyo TX-606 A/V receiver and a 50" Panasonic Plasma TV (Can't recall the model, but it is a 720p plasma TV). I ordered the DVI to HDMI cable, from Apple, to hook all this up together. The TX-606 and Plasma work great together with a DVD player and DirectTV box as sources. When I hook up the iMac I get a blue screen on the TV.
I can get the iMac to detect the device. It shows a screen panel for TX-606 and defaults the resolution to 1280x720, which I understand is correct. However, I can't get the TV to display the image. I've cycled the iMac, the TX-606 and the TV to try to get these in synch.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this? I think it has to do with the TX-606 but, since other devices are working correctly with it I hesitate to blame it.
Where do I start to debug this issue?
    Shouldn't this "just work"?
    Jeaux

hey there Jeaux & welcome to Discussion!
1-is your iMac video & analog stereo connected directly to TV? if so, select the input on the TV to
the one that has the iMac input.
2- is your iMac audio & video connected to the AV receiver? if so, you may need to select the input
on the AVR & the TV. AVRs look for audio inside the HDMI connection like you'd get w/ a BD
player, not separately like you have w/ the iMac.
3-check out the AVS forum for some good info in their Mac HTPC chat. see this:
    http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/forumdisplay.php?f=115
my 17" CD iMac is DVI>HDMI to my 42" Sony @ 1920x1080i w/ a TOSlink optical to my Sony AVR, so i have a set-up like #1. but if you have a set-up like #2(had similar situation w/ using my HD cable box), i got no image if i didn't select the audio input on the AVR & the video input on the TV.
    good luck.
