HELP! How do I get a new Apple ID, on my new Ipod?

I just got my new Ipod touch for christmas, and there is a problem. It put my firend's old Apple ID account on my Ipod, instead of mine or my dads. She no longer has an Ipod so I can't use her account anyway, and I cannot download apps or anything because of this. What can I do?

How do I get a new iPod Touch to have the same music setup as my old one?

I have all the songs on my ipod touch in my itunes library, but there are also a lot of other songs I don't want, so I can't just sync the new ipod. I could drag them all individually but that would take hours.
I was thinking I could get an ipod-to-itunes music program, and then just do my whole ipod, then transfer all of those songs to my new ipod, then delete the songs I had imported to itunes. But that's expensive.

Recently, I upgraded to the iPod Touch 4th generation model. Unfortunately, even though I have authorized my PC for the new device repeatedly, old purchases cannot be synced. I continue to get the error message that I am not authorized on the computer. I have been trying to get the ipod touch (4th gen.) to work. I tried loading itunes v. 10.5 on my windows 7 but I kept getting an error message. After searching for answers, I found someone that told me to use v. 9.0 of itunes 64. I finally got itunes to work and registered my ipod. Later, I tried to upgrade to v. 10.5 but neither itunes nor quicktime would work right, so I ended up reinstalling the v. 9.0. The problem is that the computer shows the ipod under devices, but it is not coming up in the itunes menu under devices. When I ran the diagnostics (under help) it is telling me that there is no ipod. Is this a defective device? When I turn it on the only thing I get is the apple symbol. I'm totally confused.

You did install the latest iTunes (10.5) right? If the problem was that iTunes does not see the iPod try:

The same way it connects to any wifi network.
Does the iOS device connect to other networks? If yes that tend to indicate a problem with your network.
Does the iOS device see the network?
Any error messages?
Do other devices now connect?
Did the iOS device connect before?
Try the following to rule out a software problem:

You can take your iPod to an Apple Store and ask, but they are not obligated to replace your iPod when you caused damage via an accident. Most likely you'll need to pay for the replacement.

Before you can use any of the iPod touch features, you must use iTunes to set up iPod touch. Plug it into a USB 2.0 port on your iMac (not a keyboard port) and iTunes should start and lead you through the process.

It won't charge or even come up as recognized on either my laptop (Vista OS) or my PC (XP Pro OS) even though I've dowloaded and installed the appropriate itunes software. The "Chatty" person at Apple.com said that's what I needed to do but it hasn't provided any relief. Any suggestions?
