HELP!  How Do I Re-Retrive QuickTime Pro 7

Help Needed.
How Do I Re-Retrive My Licensed QuickTime Pro 7 For PC I purchased Electronicly back in May 2014?  I have the  "Key" from the invoice but I seem to have lost the download instructions or the download site.  I had QT Pro 7 installed on my HP computer but after after doing a back-up had to perform a "Factory Restore" .  Somehow in the process I lost it along with a few other programs and apps...My Bad, I am sure.
Thanks in advance for help with this quest of mine

Nothing. You need to download the QuickTime 7 player and apply the code there.

how do you install the quicktime pro if you have quicktime version 10.2?

QuickTime X seems to be the future development for Apple and it has features not found in version 7.
Likewise, QuickTime Player 7 with the "Pro" license has a lot of features not (yet) available in QuickTime X. Most notable are the extensive export options, movie property editor, & "old school" window style with easy to set in & out timeline points that don't block the image.
But because it is a 32 bit application it is much slower for some things than QT X, most notably playback of HD movie content.
So I use QT 7 for editing & exporting and QT X for playback-only stuff.

Visit your Apple Store account. It should be listed there in the Soiftware Downloads area.

  • HT3678 How do I retrieve my Quicktime Pro registration code?

I purchased Quicktime Pro a few years back, before Quicktime X replaced it on my computer. After tinkering with it I realized at that time that I didn't really needed it - until today. Now, I'm looking on my computer, now updated to 10.7, and it seems that it doesn't exist. I tried to re-install Quicktime 7 and enter the code to make it Pro, but 2 things happened:
It says I can't install 7 with X installed. So, simple enough - I think uninstalling X will allow me to install 7, right?
I can't find the code. Does anyone know where I'd go online to find my purchase history? There was no App store back then, and I do have the same Apple ID as before. I just don't know where to go, and if that's not possible, who do I contact?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Heh, besides the phone and calling, I don't the info is there anymore.
I just checked, the purchase history only goes back 18 months.
Back in the old days, heh, they did the QT Pro unlock key via email, would of been from "order_acknowledgment", any chance you have old email squirreled away somewhere?
I think I ended up buying it twice, like you, couldn't find the original email/key and bought it again in 2009, but kept that email around. It late at night, was in a rush and wasn't sure it could be recovered.
Odd about the X and 7 giving that message, I've had both installed on the machine since X came out.
Good luck but I doubt if the info is "on line" anymore, you'll have to give them a ring.

  • How do i reinstall my Quicktime Pro from a crashed hard drive. I have my old Pro code

My HD crashed. I have my old Pro code from my purchase, but I can only download the free version and there is no place I can find to put in my registration code. I also cannot find a Pro Download without going thru another purchase.
    Thanks
    Kerry

Download and install QuickTime 7 for Windows from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/.
Once it's installed, click on Start > Control Panel and search for QuickTime.
Open the QuickTime Control Panel and you should be able to enter your QuickTime Pro registration information there.
Hope that helps, have a great day.

  • HT2376 How do I find my Quicktime Pro Key

I've logged in to my Account just like the Support Article states and clicked on View Order History but my Order is older than 18 months old. I can't view my purchase of Quicktime Pro 7 to retrieve my Key Code. Your support Article lies. Where do I find my Key Code?

As Kirk said, orders older that 18 months can no longer be retrieved from the Apple Store. If you failed to save the email with the key Apple sent you, as they themselves advised, and you don't have a system with QT Pro still active from which you can copy the necessary preference file, you'll need to buy a new key.
    Regards.

  • How do i upgrade to quicktime pro using lion

I am using LION operating system. I am trying to upgrade from quicktime to quicktime pro. I have already purchased the software and have my registration number but i can not figure out WHERE to use it? (meaning where do I input the registration number so that I can use the program)?

When you start QT 7 player, under the first menu there is a "Registration" menu item.
Enter your name and Registration code, THEN hit the TAB KEY. Do not click the "Buy..." button.
    That should do it.
Make sure you have the CORRECT version of QT 7:

  • Getting a New Computer - how do I transfer over quicktime pro?

I'm getting a new mac, and have quicktime pro installed in my current one. I can't find the original .dmg file, but I have the authorization key and purchase receipt. Will simply copying the installed quicktime file over to the new computer and uninstalling it from the old one work? Or do I have to install using the .dmg file?

    Welcome to the forums!
Your new Mac will be running Snow Leopard 10.6.
Mac OS X 10.6 includes QuickTime versions 10.0 and 7.6.3. The QuickTime 7 player will only be present if a QuickTime Pro key was present at the time of installation, or if specified as part of a custom install, or individually downloaded.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/dl923
Snow Leopard update 10.6.4 included an update to 7.6.6 (if installed). You can install it from the above link even though it says for 10.6.3. It's the same version of QuickTime Player 7.6.6.
Only QuickTime Player 7.6.3 or 7.6.6 can be updated to "Pro".
Once you have installed Quicktime Player 7 by one of the means mentioned above, just enter your authorization key and you should be good to go!

  • How do I upgrade to Quicktime Pro?

My MBP came installed with Quicktime v. 10, but I need to run Quicktime 7 Pro for a class project.  I've purchased the product, but I can't install it.
The directions state to go into my system folder and look for quicktime, but it's assuming I have Quicktime 7, which I do not.
    How do I install this?

Once you've entered the information exactly as the email confirmation shows, close the registration window and shut down QT. To confirm it is now the pro version, launch QT again and choose QuickTime Player 7 > Registration. The same registration field will appear, but the icon at the left should now have the word Pro going across it, along with your registration name and code.

  • How to play DVDs in Quicktime Pro

I recently purchased QT, and QTPro. I was trying to transfer DVDs to my 60GB Video ipod, but I cannot even open any movie in Quicktime. Now my goal is just to get a DVD to play in quicktime. I choose file->open file, and select the drive my video is in, and there are three folders, JACKET_P, VIDEO_TS, AUDIO_TS, and the only one with anything in it is the VIDEO, but I open it and nothing is listed unless I change the "files of type" (prompt on bottom of open dialog box)from movies to all files. When all files are listed, I get a bunch of VTS_## files (and they are either VOB or BUP type), and a VIDEO_TS file, and it is an IFO file. If I choose the last one, I get the error message -2048: the file is not a movie file, and the same happens for all the files. I hope you can shed some light on my problem. [QTPro is registered, my PC does meet all the requirements, and I have tried numerous DVDs. If I right-click on the movie in windows explorer, and choose properties, then autoplay, I am given the option of what I would like to use to autoplay the movie. QT is not listed, nor can I browse.]

I don't think I've seen Apple or anyone else advertises QuickTime as being able to play DVDs, so I'm not sure why you assumed that it would. To answer the original posters question, I'm not particularly familiar with how to do it under Windows, but it is most certainly possible to convert video from DVDs to a format that can be played on the iPod. There are several tutorials around the web that will tell you how to do it step-by-step.
(BTW, Apple has this to say about DVD playback in QuickTime:
"Can the QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component play back DVDs?
The MPEG-2 Playback Component can play back MPEG-2 files on non-encrypted DVDs. Professionally produced, commercial DVDs (such as Hollywood movies) are usually encrypted with special anti-piracy software, called Content Scramble System (CSS). In order to view these DVDs, decryption software is required and is included in DVD players. But decryption software is not included in QuickTime or the QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component.")
