If you need to format the phone memory then there's a way but you will loose everything you've installed, messages, DRM, pre-loaded contents, etc.

Someone pls help me on setting up my nokia n91. Ive I have spent many hours on the phone to o2 that I can not recieve emails via another email account apart from an o2 one? I know this is strange as I have managed to send an email that has my aol address on it? But I can not recieve them still?
I was then told I need to download pop3? and when checking for pop3 I see there are many different types? Can someone pls help me on this?
Also I am pay and go but was told this does not matter by an o2 rep,then I was told it does and FINALLY I was told yes but they dont support it so if it does not work they wont help me?
Is it just the case I wont use there email servers and so not spending money with them?
Someone pls help me as its taken me a week to just get this far. If you can pin point what downloads I need and configuring it I should be fine.

URGENT HELP: How to reformat an external hard drive?!

We purchased a Desk Hammer external hard drive with USB. My hubby plugged it into his Mac G4/OS 8.6 and when it was recognized, he selected to format it for Mac only. We needed it to be ISO Whatever so I can use it on my Windows systems too. The Desk Hammer people are no help with how to get access to this thing and reformat it (in fact, WARNING they say they do not even support Mac usage for these drives!). What can I do to reformat it to work on the Windows side? thanks for any help....

Windows machines support Windows formats some of the time.
The Mac formats and supports many common formats, and is nice about it.
You use the exact same utility you used to format it for the Mac, only you select MS-DOS as the type. If the drive is of a modest size, that is all you need to do.
The Mac will also happily read and write files on it, even though it is an MS-DOS drive. It may not properly show their Icons (everything may be generic MS-DOS documents) until the files are copied to a Mac drive.
A very large drive will need a third-party utility to format all the space on it into Windows format.
ISO-whatever and High Sierra and a few others are CD-only formats, you will not be able to format a Hard drive to that format.

How to reformat Nokia 2610?

Nokia has a FAQ that applies to the 2610 saying that a reformat process will remove all personal information from the phone, but then it does not say how to do the reformat! The User Guide does not say how either. A general search on the web indicates that Green Dial key + * + 3 + Power will do the job, holding the three keys until "Formatting" appears on the screen. But this phone does not seem to respond to that. It is a T-Mobile To Go (prepaid) phone, if that matters.

It is not possible to reformat a basic phone like the 2610. The only options are the reset to defaults in the settings menu or by asking a nokia care point to fully reset it (by flashing it's firmware).

How to reformat Nokia N8

Hi,
My Nokia N8 was purchased 7 days ago. I love the phone.
Do have a few issues.
Sometimes applications will freeze when I try to open them up. Basically, I tap on the application icon and nothing will happen. I do a reboot and the application will open up.
Another thing is that sometimes when I view photos/images the image will be displayed upside down. The image will be displayed the correct way but 2 sec later on it will be upside down. Does not happen with all images (no, I do not hold the camera upside down).
Even the opera browser had issues, when holding the phone in a vertical position it would display the screen in a horizontal position.
I have a feeling that it might be software related and a reformat would sort it out.
What would the best way to go about this?
Any potential issues that has to be adressed before I reformat?

G'day mate. If I were you, it won't make much difference. I come to realise after meeting up with other N8 users that it is happening to them too. Over the weekend I went to a few specialist shops and found out that of all the phones, HTC has the lowest complaints. I have resisted buying other brands aside from Sony Erricsson, Nokia and Siemens. After sitting down for hours amd toying with HTC Wildfire, Desire and Legend, I soon realised that these are vastly superior.
But don't take my word, go and try it and open many applications and watch videos at same time. I could not crash any of the HTC.
With respect to Nokia, I hope to see you people making sweeping changes and keep up with the times.

That will wipe the phone, if you leave the memory card in you will need to format it using the file manager to wipe it.

Help with my Nokia N91

hi guys,wondering if u can help me.
ive had my n91 for around 2 months now,recently bout 1 week ago i turned my fone on,n discovered that i had lost all of my files(images,videos and music files)...
i try taking new images/videos,it says "saving to gallery" but nothing saves onto the phone,also i look on to the fone hard drive and it says i only have 3gb left?
this is very annoying as nothin atall will save onto fone?wot do i need to do?i want to type in code to restore factory settings but would like some comments from u guys b4 i do it.
another thing is,my fone always freezes,turns it self off.
hopefully u guys will have answers to help me.

Seems like you need to reformat your hard disk. Images are stored on the hard disk by default so from what you are facing, data is not being written to the disk.
Tools -> Hard Drive -> Options -> Tools -> Format Hard Drive -> Full Format.
After which you might want to do a hard reset on the phone as well, bearing in mind that all your contacts/calendar entries/notes/messages/themes will be gone so i suggest backing them up using PC Suite if you wish to keep them.
Hard Reset: dial *#7370#
You will be prompted to enter your lockcode. Default lockcode is 12345 unless of course you changed it. Phone will go blank for a few minutes and you should see the default nokia theme.
Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

PLEASE HELP - RE NOKIA N91!!!

OK, I have a new Nokia N91...downloaded the software for the PC suite, connected the usb cable to the phone and put a (10 track) CD into my PC.
I transfer this (10 track CD) to 'my collection)...then 'select all' before transfering it to my mobile....ALL OK SO FAR....the 10 tracks are now on my mobile.
NEXT - repeat the same thing with a (8 track)cd but it SUPERSEEDS the first 8 tracks off the FIRST CD, leaving 10 tracks (8 new, 2 off the initial cd)...I realise this MUST be a simple error on my part (Im a technophobe!) but how do I add extra CDs to my phone??
Thanks in advance - it just keeps saying 'do I want to overwrite the current track 1/2/3 etc'...even whne I select no, its still superseeds.
Im left with a great mobile that I love but only one cd!!

This is not the way it should work and I have not seen this type of problem before, so let's try t work this out.
A few questions:
Have you used the "get artist data" in Nokia Music Manager (that is part of PC Suite, so I assume you are using that software to move your music to the phone?)
Have you selected the update music library in phone side after you have moved the music files to your phone ?

I have this huge problem...I have a Nokia N91 ,for which I payed 500Euro and I just bought it for one week..I tried the The Nokia Software Updater and it all gone fine until the end ,when I got the message on the screen that the program lost the connection..and this is when the nightmare start...the phone crashed...now it only turning on and it staying on a white screen and it not doing nothing...not even turning OFF...I am very dissapointed about this,....I can`t belive that it is possible to releaase something that is ruining your phone...
Can anyone have a solution for this???The phone is brought from out my country and I can`t ship it to waranty!!!!Please help!!!!!

Hi, reading from some other threads in this forum, could it be the update failed due to the phone not having enough charge?
Try plugging it into the mains for an hour or to. Then try the soft format suggested above.
completely remove all Nokia software from your PC, download and install the latest Nokia Updater, download and install the latest PC Suite for the N91. Now connect your Nokia to the PC via the USB cable, leaving it plugged into the mains.
If that doesn't work that I have no idea and an engineer may be the only solution. Your phone is under warranty, but bear in mind this may have been voided by your attempting to update at home. Also, for such an expensive phone, I'd only trust genuine Nokia service centres with it.
Hope this helps - may have an idea you've not tried yet.

How to reformat N81 8GB & cant install Nokia Maps ...

As usual i tried install the latest version of Nokia Software Updater and connect my phone to PC.
and detected v21.0.010
I still discover my contact list available and the old data did not wipe off after updating.
And i cant install Nokia Maps 2.0 in my device.
It showed my memory not enough and prompt me to delete some data.
I check my phone memory still got 8660KB while mass memory still got 7GB more.
I even try to uninstall software, eg. OfficeSuite, OperaMini, Presenter... but still cant install Nokia Maps 2.0
I need to know how to reinstall the firmware and how to install Nokia Maps 2.0

Nokia N91 phone memory problem

I have owned this Nokia N91 for a year and 9 months. Phone memory is a problem as i cannot recieve any messages. The message, not enough memory to recieve message(s), delete some data. I have taken absolutely everything off the phone memory except messages, contacts, and calender data, yet i still have something taking up 14 of my 15MB's of memory. What can i do as i can't recieve any messages. I have tried allocating messaging memory to the hard drive but i am presented with the same problem. Please help as i need to keep this phone working till May.

i would suggest that u look through ur other folders that contain ur pictures, videos and music and move the items u want to the memory card and delete the ones that u dont want to free up memory b4 trying to format the phone

A question to Nokia N91 owners/ex owners...

Having the Nokia N91 years back, I loved the audio quality and the shaking bass effect from the standard earphones (Nokia Music Headset HS-28, AD-36) however I am looking at getting some good earphones for the Nokia N8 and I was thinking of the:
Sennheiser CX 500
Was wondering if anyone used the CX500 and how is the bass effect/quality compared to the standard Nokia N91 earphones. Can anybody point out a good earphones that have the same or much better bass reproduction than the standard Nokia headset that is cheap. Looking for something around £15 - £30 Max.

All down to personal taste, I had N91 and sound was great I use Sony MDR-EX300SL which I find give good sound in and keep most background sound OUT, and they would fit your budget
I'm sure you'll get some better expert opinions, but they are good enough for my ears

Nokia N91 8GB phone purchased at Australia. I want to use this in India. when I inserts SIM Card of Airtel, phone displaying that 'invalid SIM Cars'. How to unlocke it.
second one is: can I upgrade the Nokia Softwareupgrade downloaded from website. If I do so my phone will work in india or will there any problems.
