Help, I am having problems syncing songs from itunes to my ipod.

I am having great difficulty in trying to sync purchased songs from itunes music store to my ipod.
I have just registered my ipod to my home computer after having it originally registered on a friends computer. Now on my own computer I have purchased 14 songs and have tried to sync them onto my ipod. However it keeps coming up with a message that my computer is not authorized to play them. Therefore its not copying onto my ipod.
Any solutions/help would be greatly recieved, thanks.

I'll wager that you have a second account that you forgot about. Fire up iTunes but do not log on to your account. Try to play one of the problem songs. A popup window will appear asking you to authorize your computer for that account.

  • Cannot sync song from iTunes playlist to iPod Classic

I haven't been able to sync a song from one of my playlists in iTunes to my iPod ever since I've updated from earlier programs. The song was added to the playlist manually, but that never mattered before. If I can't clear this up I'm afraid my iPod is useless!

You could try creating a new playlist from that one. Select the complete Playlist and then select New Playlist from selection. In my screenshot, I right-clicked to get this pop-up menu, your iTunes may look slightly different, but the choice will be there somewhere (try the + icon in the bottom left of the iTunes window).
Once you have created the new Playlist, try Syncing that to your iPod. If only that song is missing, that suggests there is something wrong with the song that prevents it going onto your iPod. But if the complete (new) Playlist fails to transfer, then that suggests that something is wrong with your Sync preferences.

I have a new iPod. I have succesfully installed iTunes on my computor and loaded music from my CD's. I can't download the songs from iTunes to my iPod Nano. I took it into Best Buy and the Geeksquad people loaded some of their songs. I came back and removed the software and reloaded it from the Apple website, and that didn't help a bit. What do I do?

go to file update your ipod and all the songs should go on the ipod unless theirs something wrong with yhe cord

  • Problem getting songs from iTunes to iPod

Hi all, can any one help?
My 6th Gen iPod was working fine this morning but now I get "Mac OS X can't repair the disk "Marc's iPod". I did manage to get it to show up in iTunes but when I tried to move a song from iTunes to my iPod I got a (-61) error and won't copt songs across. I do not have the privileges to make changes
The iPod shows up on my desk top.
Can anyone help, I'm not that technically minded when it comes to these things.
    Cheers in advance

    Hello marky_marc1979,
Perhaps it would be a good idea to try and reformat the iPod using *Disk Utility*. See this article for instructions on how to do this.

  • I can't copy purchased songs from iTunes onto my iPod on my new computer.

I have an HP Pavilion zd7000 notebook computer. It's used. It was given to me by a family member. I put my iPod software onto it. I can purchase songs from iTunes, and I can connect my iPod and play the music. However, when I tried to put a purchased song from iTunes onto my iPod, I was told that I wasn't allowed. Is there some sort of security thing I don't know about?

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
Are you sure your computer is authorized for this? This is probably your issue.
If you go to the "Advanced" tab on the top in iTunes, is there a "Deauthorize computer..." button or an "Authorize computer..." button? If there's an "authorize computer" link, then that is your issue. Authorize your computer, and you should be able to transfer iTMS purchased songs from iTunes to iPod.
For details, see this Apple article:
    About iTMS authorization and deauthorization
    I hope this helps you,

You add the sone to yur iTunes libray and sync to your iPod.

  • Problem syncing music from itunes to iphone

I am having problems syncing my music to my iphone. Itunes goes through the process but my music does not transfer. Any helpful would be great:)

Go the Applications folder and drag the iTunes.app into the trash.  That's all you need to do with any app on the Mac.  (Easier than that Control Panel thing on Windows . If you want to ensure you delete any related preference files with the app, suggest you use AppCleaner (you can download free here  - http://appcleaner.en.softonic.com/mac .

  • Ive had my iPod classic for some time now, and up to now have been using my laptop to sync songs from iTunes.  Unfortunatley, the laptop has died and I'm thinking of buying a iPad.....but how do i now get any songs downloaded from iTunes to my iPod?

I've had my iPod classic for some time now, and up to now have been connecting it to my laptop to sync any downloaded tunes from iTunes.  Unfortunately, the laptop has died and I'm thinking of buying a iPad.....but how do I now get any songs downloaded from iTunes to my iPod?

If an iPod is set to update automatically it will be associated with a particular library. If you connect that iPod to a different computer or a different library on the same computer you get the the message you are referring to. "The iPod "iPod Name"is linked to another another iTunes music library. Do you want to change the link to this iTunes music library and replace all existing songs and playlists on this iPod with those from this library". To use an iPod on multiple computers you change the update method to "manually manage songs and playlists". You can also use multiple iPods on a single computer so you will be able to connect both of your iPods to your existing iTunes. Connect the new iPod and follow the on screen instructions, iTunes will open and update your iPod.
    For info:
The iPod offers three ways to transfer music from your computer. You can select one of the following update modes from the iPod Preferences menu in iTunes (Edit=>Preferences=>'iPod' tab):
    1) Automatically update all songs and playlists. This is the default mode, in which your entire music library, including playlists, is automatically synced to your iPod. If the music library on your computer exceeds the iPod storage capacity, you are prompted to select a different update method.
    2) Automatically update selected playlists only. With this option, iTunes automatically copies the playlists you have selected to the iPod when you connect it to the computer.
    3) Manually manage songs and playlists. You can also choose to transfer music to the iPod manually. This allows you to drag and drop individual songs and playlists from iTunes to the iPod.
