What version of iPhoto? How are you trying?
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there?

Unable to attach photo in iPhoto library using gmail in Safari

I am unable to attach a photo that is in the iphoto library when I am sending an email from my gmail account in Safari. The way it should work is to go to Compose new emai, then click on attach file which opens a window to navigate to the photos folder. Inside that folder is a iphoto library which has the photo I want to send. It is not possible to open the library and choose the photo! Instead it tries to attach the entire library! I have no problem attaching photos that are in folders in the photos folder.
I know Ican open the photos folder and find the picture and drag it to the message. What I want to do is be able to use the attach file dialogue window. Thanks!!!

From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab.
Click Details then remove all Google related data.
Same for Jimdo.
Then press Command + Option + E to empty the Safari cache.
Quit and relaunch Safari then try Gmail or Jimdo.
If that didn't help ..
Open a Finder window. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy paste the following:
~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari/Cache.db
Click Go then move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari. Try Gmail to test.

Unable to attach photos

When trying to attach photos to an e-mail, once a selected photo is identified, it immediately locks my computer and doesn't allow me to load. I have to restart each time and still can't get a photo to upload.

Try connecting phone in Mass Media mode, drag a photo onto your computer and see if you can attach that to an email ?

Unable to attach photo

When I try to attach a photo, either by "drag and drop" or using the "attach" menu I get the spinning ball and the program locks up.
I have deleted the mail preferences but this has not helped.
Do I need to reinstall the Mail program again

The files open OK in preview, however they do not attach when dropped onto the Mail icon.
As far as checking the read and write access when I press cmd I that just brings up Account Info-not the info box like other applications
It would seem from other recent posts that there is an underlying similarity that the Pro Application updates and Safari Beta version may be part of this issue.
These are the only two changes that I have made to my system since this problem surfaced.

Attaching photos in Treo 659

I am using Treo 659, I had installed blackberry connect. I have also configurd my Gmail account.
I am now unable to attach photos from the hand held , it says file size too big. Once I uninstall blacberry connect, I am able to attach photos.
Can any body help.

Do you mean you have Treo 650?
Not many people are still using the Blackberry Connect software - it made some major modifications to the version of mail application on the 650.

I uploaded iOS 8 when it came out. Since then I have been unable to attach photo's to emails.

Same here also. IOS and all apps up to date. Gen 2 iPad. Will not attach photos in webmail for Hotmail, gmail or Yahoo mail.
Nothing. They all act like they are attaching the file but just sit and the status icon just spins, and spins, and spins.
Before IOS 8, there never was a problem....Makes me glad I'm using and Android phone.

OK. Thank you. Is there any way to get rid of that little "Block" pop up above over "Attach a file" when composing an email in Gmail? I think the problem I'm having (being prevented from attaching photos to emails) is because I may have inadvertently clicked that Block pop-up numerous times. I can't think of any time when I would want to block myself from attaching items to email I compose. So I don't really need that pop-up. How can I stop that from appearing?

After OS4 upgrade you are unable to attach photo to e-mail and quality of photos are poor . Fix reload all photos and quality is fixed and you can attach photo to e mail again same as before

yes, go into photos, select the photo, tap the screen, there should be a button with a box and arrow. tap that, you get an option to email the photo.
not sure you can do it from within the email app though.

Although over 25 years on Macs, this is my first iPhone... and I'm missing a few (probably) subtle things to do to resurrect this function.

If you are having issues with being unable to attach a photo from Mail on your iPhone, you may want to try some things to troubleshoot.
First, quit all running applications and test again -
Force an app to close in iOS
Next, I would try restarting and if needed resetting the iPhone -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
If the issue is still present, you may want to restore the iPhone as a new device -
How to erase your iOS device and then set it up as a new device or restore it from backups

Everytime I try to sync my photos to iPad or my iPhone. The sync freezes for a whilie then comes back with "the disk cannot be read from or written to". I have already exported photo library from iPhoto and readded the photos.

ZSearch Help: Unable to attach it with Data Element XBLNR1

Hi,
I made a ZSearch help, which will show the contents of one field of a Ztable.
There is a field XBLNR(Reference) with data element XBLNR1 in transaction FB50.
I want to attach Zsearch help with it.
I have the access key also, but when I am unable to attach Zsearch help with the data element XBLNR1 because it is not in editable mode.
Can anyone tell me the solution?
Or is there any other method with which I can attach Zsearch help with the screen field?

you can attach search help to the XBLNR element direclty.
GO to the program SAPMF05A screen number 1010 in SE51.go to layout and double click on doc.ref field. You can assign searhelp in attributes.
ofcourse , u need access key for this.

I download dmg files but cannot be open (not recognised). If I try try to use disk utility, it says the disk image unable to attach. Could someone pls help? Thnx

Hi, I am trying to install some programs (on mac book pro mac osx 10.6.8) that are downloaded in "dmg" file format. These are antivirus and security related programs. Unfortunately when I try to open the downloaded file, this does not open and I get message it is not recognised. I have also tried using Disk Utility but I get an error "unable to attach"l. This just started recently. I have downloaded the file several times but same problem recurs. Thanks for your help
PS: Other files directly downloaded from apple work fine.
