Help! I can no longer see a list of artists.
I just got this thing about a week ago. Last night I tried to browse through all my artists so that I could listen to just one artist for a bit. Anyhow, I was able to see them before, now all I see is a list of songs even though I specifically clicked on the artist tab.
ps. From the first night I erased all info on all my music and labeled all of them by artist, song, and genre and it was easier for me to find particular artists but suddenly I can only see the songs' titles. On itunes my music is all stored by artist, genre, and song title any ideas? please help.

1) Reset your iPod...

Also, try going to settings-->reset all settings
2) Recreate your iTunes library...

And then reupdate your iPod with iTunes.
3) Make sure all the software on your computer is up to date...

4) And try restoring your iPod...

On my new computer the Bookmarks list no longer 'highlights' the website that I have clicked on and am viewing online. Therefore, I can no longer see exactly which site (location/name) I am viewing because I have quite a number of bookmarks. It wastes time to go to several bookmarked sites in search of the site I am currently visiting.
Bottom line: I want the Bookmarks list to highlight the site I am currently visiting as it did on my previous computers (all Dell). Is there a setting to make this happen?

JoancmbIt actually does highlight but in colour which is barely distinguishable so it appears that no highlighting is on.

I can no longer see my pictures.....the screen is white boxes but when I click on the box an exclamation point pops up. Please Help!!!!
The exclamation point occurs when iPhoto breaks/loses the file path to the original file. So try the following: make a temporary, duplicate copy of the library and apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot AND
the option to rebuild the small thumbnails.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
OT -
After the latest itunes update I can no longer see my iPhone listed on the left column. How can I get to the section where I can pick & choose apps etc to be synced?
Also I had to get a new iPhone & so I backed up the night before to the cloud & my computer. When I tried to restore from back up with the new phone my back up wasn't there - shouldn't it be automatic via wifi from the cloud?
What am I doing wrong?Your iphone is shown at the top of the page.
You can also simply click View>Show Sidebar and it will look about the same as it did before. -
I can no longer see any Notifications from my FaceBook account in the notifications area on my Mac. I have it in the Notifications Area and it is still not providing me my notifications. Any suggestions?

One other user & I can no longer see each other in the buddy list
My friend & I, who have used iChat for years, and also recently, and neither of us has changed anything, can no longer see each other in either one of our buddy lists.
We've checked:
- That neither of us is blocking the other
- That other people can see us - they can
- That we can see other people - we can - we can even see the same people as each other, just not each other
We've tried blocking & unblocking each other, in case that would reset something, and both rebooted our Mac's several times.

I can see that Accounts/Screen Names can get messed up on the various flags set by an App to and therefore On the AIM servers.
What I can not see in this case is why it seems to be limited to just one Buddy on each computer.
As the Block list (And therefore presumably Allow Lists) are not actually shown in the .p0list I ma hoping that deleting it and restarting ichat at one end at least will reset that iChat form the Defaults haled in the app when you do this.
(you could delete that Account Screen Name from iChat ? Preferences > Accounts to achieve the same things in a more destructive way as it would tend to rewrite all the .plists which may included Jabber ones that are OK
We both did delete our screen names in iChat, and also deleted ALL the prefs manually.
Also, we've tried using entirely different computers to log-in to those same accounts, with the same results - somehow we're blocked from each other.
I think we're both giving up at this stage. We have additional accounts we can use to see each other. But it would be really nice to get to the bottom of it, because if it happens once it can happen again. Who knows? Maybe there are other people in my buddy list that this is happening with right now, but we don't know it. This person just happens to be someone I chat with a lot, and we noticed we weren't seeing each other. -

I can no longer see my pointer and pull down windows pop up on everything!!! HELP
I can no longer see my pointer and when I go to say "applications" a pop up or pull down menu open up...a tiny noe with words. Before a window with icons would open up and I liked that. Its also happening with the internet. instead of having apointer I see nothing and a pull down menu appears. I can't shoose anything because there is no pointer. What setting is this and how do I change it back? I want a normal pointer where I click on link and they open new links then I can type where I click too.
dunno....could be a gamble...you might have Simple Finder turned on, or accessibilty (for those with vision problems, etc). I think pressing Command+Shift+F8 (that's fn+f8 key) ought to turn it off. If you're really stuck
command+Shift+3 or command+Shift+4 will let you take a screenshot of your desktop which you might be able to post here. Also, check your views setting (Command+J key) which will let you display icons and stuff)

When I have numerous tabs open I used to be able to see them along my browser border. My daughter pounded on my keyboard and now I can no longer see my tabs but I know they are there because when I go to close the browser it warns me that I'm closing multiple tabs. Anyone know any tricks to make them reappear?

I was able to transfer my library books by downloading and then transferring them to my kobo through ADE. Now when I open my ADE my Kobo doesn't show up but the kobo is connected to my computer and I can see it in my control panel.

Can No Longer See User Folder in Intrnl Drive after transferring to Ext Drv
I'm trying very hard not to freak out right now, but I can no longer see my User Folder/Home in the Finder Bar after dragging and dropping it into the my newly formatted Seagate External Drive. I have OS 10.4.11 and am trying to install Snow Leopard, but before I do I wanted to back-up my hard drive. So I plugged in the Seagate, formated it for Macs, and then dragged and dropped he User Folder into the Seagate and now it is gone!
Would greatly appreciate advice on how to find the User Folder so I can return it to the Internal Drive AND help on how to properly copy it to the Seagate External Drive as I have been unsuccessful.
Many thanks!Not really. I previously tried that already. I added Chinese (Taiwan) and moved up pre-existing English as the phone language. Also set navigation voice in Here Drive+ to Chinese. Result:
1. Street names still shows in English (it goes with phone language obviously), like "Da Xing Rd." However, some landmarks will show in both languages.
2. Navigation voice is in Chinese but all the street names are announced in English, so e.g. "Da Xing Rd." is announced as "Da-Sing-R-D". ("St." will be announced as "S-T"...) (This is the same as in WP8)

My safari menu bar is missing. The menu bar for desktop, HD, and apps appears, but when I click on Safari, it disappears, so I can no longer see my buttons for History, etc. I think my husband (pc user) clicked it away when borrowing my computer. Any ideas how to retrieve it? Thanks.
I too was having the same problem However, I could access both the menu bar and the dock by hovering my mouse over them so it wasn't a huge problem but I prefered having it there anyway. I was not in full screen mode and I could still go into full screen mode if I wanted to. I found the easiest solution was to just quit safai and restart it, but it might not work for you considering you couldn't access you menu bar either way.
I found this article that allows you to hide/show the menu bar and the dock through TextEdit (didn't work for me) http://www.mactricksandtips.com/2009/07/hide-the-menubar-or-dock-in-specific-app s.html It is pretty old so it might not work for lion and a bit risky if you don't know what you're doing so I wouldn't really recommend doing it this way.
And KSheppard, I know it's not really any of my buisness, but the way to get answers to a question isn't by insulting others and being quick-tempered. Even if you feel like you were insulted first, don't try snapping at people who aren't obligated to help you. Honestly, it just makes everything easier if everybody is cooperative and polite. -
I can no longer see my account name so I can gain access to my information, but now all I get is a Guest user account and it won't let me log into that account. All it lests me do is re-start the computer and use it in restricted mode. Can someone please help me!
Recommendation for your consideration
Hopefully your original user account was an "administrator". I have two admin accts in case one admin. acct gets "trashed.
Lets see what other forum members offer: my solution requires use of terminal and works. CLI (Command Line Interface) might be intimidating for you but we'll see what others possibly offer.
As I say the solution I have works well and will allow you to create new user(s) replacing your former users whatever type they were. I promise to check back today if no solution to you is offered...

Can't delete or save new bookmarks in safari
I am running OS X 10.8.2 and safari version 6.0.2. Safari is not allowing me to delete current bookmarks or save any new ones. Manually deleting them from the bookmark page does nothing once I close out and reopen safari. Same goes with saving new on
