HELP!! I can't get Itunes to work!

I have been having problems with Itunes for awhile. I couldn't get store to come up. I tried installing older versions and it still didn't work. I upgraded to the latest version and still get the same error when I try to get the store to come up. It says network connection refused. I am using a wireless card. Since I upgraded to the newest version of Itunes now I can't even skip to a different song. Can someone please help me with my two problems? I want to use itunes and be able to skip to the next song.

  • I can't get iTunes to work properly on Windows 8

I can't get iTunes to work properly on Windows 8. I tried everything and iTunes is NOT compatible with Windows 8. There is either an iTunes issue or a Microsoft issue.

I finally got it to work right. Some files and folders (iTunes video files, etc) were referenced to my iTunes account, I copied from my backup (external) Hard Drive to my system Hard Drive. The only thing that can keep me from accessing my wish list for some time is a very heavy Internet traffic via iTunes players to iTunes Store. So everything is now NORMAL.

  • Can't get itunes to work for windows xp 64 bit

I can't get itunes to work for windows xp 64 bit. It won't even download.

These are the Windows requirements according to the iTunes dpownload site http://www.apple.com/uk/itunes/download/http://:
Windows XP Service Pack 2 or later; 32-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8
64-bit editions of Windows Vista, Windows 7 or Windows 8 require the iTunes 64-bit installer
xp 64 bit is not mentioned but it doesn't seem to be supported for the latest ITunes so it seems that you're out of luck.

  • Help I can't get iTunes to install on my computer

My husband just bought me my first iPod for our anniversary present. For the life of me now matter what I try with the troubleshooting tips I can't get iTunes + Quicktime to install properly. It will stall at 'Registering iTunes automation server' then pop up with the error 'iTunes cannot run because some of its required files are missing. Please reinstall iTunes.' I have completely removed iTunes and QuickTime multiple times and tried to install. This still doesn't work. I have tried installing QuickTime 7.2 as mentioned by another post, but it just says I already have a newer version on my computer, even though I thought I had removed the program. Does anyone else have any other recomendations? This is so frustrating. Why doesn't Apple have an 800 number to call for help?!

+This still doesn't work. I have tried installing QuickTime 7.2 as mentioned by another post, but it just says I already have a newer version on my computer, even though I thought I had removed the program.+
Download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. then use it to clear any existing QuickTime installation configuration information from your PC. (Run the Utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install CleanUp"), find any QuickTime entries in the list of programs that appear in CleanUp, select the QuickTime entries, and then click “Remove”.)
Description of the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility
Next, we’ll manually remove leftover program files and folders (Some or all of these may already be gone).
    1. On the Start menu, click My Computer (or double-click My Computer on the Desktop).
    2. In My Computer, open Local Disk.
    3. Open Program Files.
    4. Right-click on the QuickTime folder and click Delete from the shortcut menu.
    5. Navigate to C:\Windows\system32\.
    6. Remove the files QuickTime.qts and QuicktimeVR.qtx. (If “Hide filename extensions for known file types” is enabled on the PC, then those two files will appear as “QuickTime” and QuickTimeVR”.)
    7. Restart your computer.
Now try another QuickTime 7.2 install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Can't get iTunes to work with 2 User Accounts

I've tried to find my specific problem on previous threads but it seems that each situation is just a little different. I have two user accounts on my family shared Windows XP Home edition PC. Last week I installed my son's iPod/iTunes using the install disc. I changed the default to C:\documents and settings\user1\My Documents. Life was good. Then I got an iPod of my own. I followed the same install as above only changed the path to user2's account. I went to iTunes and everything was working just fine for user2. The next time user1 tried to access iTunes on his desktop under his Windows user account, he said it just kept searching. (Windows error message with flashlight) He decided to pop the install disc in and see what happens. (yikes!) He took all of the defaults and left both users with nothing working. Infact at that point iTunes was still on the user desktops but only pages and pages of HTML code would display if you tried to launch iTunes. I deleted all traces of itunes and iPod I could locate and went through the same reinstall process as before. I was able to locate user 2's libary and everything worked fine. (That's mine) Poor user1,(my son) we can't get anything installed to his user. The install disk recognizes only my installation and wants to remove everything first. I;ve done that a few times and still can only get user 2 working but not both.

  • Help! Can't get iTunes store to open

Recently switched from an iPhone 4s to an iPhone 5. To switch all of my music and apps over, I had to update my Mac to the OS X 10.6.8. I also updated my iTunes to 11.0.5. When I did this, I was able to transfer all my music, and can still access my iTunes library. Here's the problem, I can't get the iTunes library to open. It shows it loading, but only get's halfway and stops. It has my account along the top, and even the home, music, movies, and podcasts buttons, but they only load halfway as well. It's just a white screen. There is no "unable to access iTunes store" or any sort of pop-up to explain why it won't open... Just a blank screen. My WiFi is working and I've tried multiple networks to make sure that was not the problem. I can also still get onto the store from my phone using my account. I tried to see if logging in with my sister's account would make a difference, but it still did not work. I've tried all of the suggested ways through the iTunes support and haven't found the problem. I'm not sure what the best way would be to fix it. Any suggestions?!

I have exactly the same problem! Please help, it's driving me crazy!

  • New iPod Touch, Can't get iTunes to work, extra headaches

    Hello,
This is my first day in the Apple world: I caved and thought it would be good to get a new mp3/video player after my last one died. I ended up getting a 4th Gen Black iPod Touch - not sure if the color matters, but why not?
Anyway, my second problem (first being the weird packaging, of tape through plastic then stuck on) started with iTunes: the thing just would NOT download. Every time I tried, the website kept saying "There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to completecould not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor." That's just great: I can't get any music or video ONTO my iTouch without iTunes...right?
After browsing around I found an older version of iTunes that seemed to work. Yay! But not really. Nobody ever mentioned that .flac and .avi files can't be imported into iTunes at all...so I had to go hunting online for third party converters. This took care of THAT problem...
However, now that conversion is up, the older version of iTunes won't pick up my iPod Touch and Sync it. There is actually a "Sync iPod" button under "File" tab, but it's grayed out and I can't use it.
Not entirely sure if this is why, but according to a few people, when a new iTunes comes out, the older one stops functioning as fully as it originally did, forcing people to upgrade their iTunes in order to make it work like normal.
I tried to find a third party program to pick up my iPod Touch so I could upload files, but no luck. I feel like an idiot for not knowing how to turn source code into a program, and the binary installers I did find were user-hostile (ie. Right clicking to bring up a menu actually plays the movie and there's no stop button, you have to end task from the task manager). Windows Explorer only shows one folder in my iPod Touch, which is empty and four letters long, which gives no clue as to what it is.
So here's my big question: now that I finally am fully ready to upload my files to my iPod Touch, I can't. Why?
Is it my version of iTunes? Why can't I download iTunes' newest version? Why does updating from the older version yield the same result (though I'm sure both installers are the same)? Is there another way to get all my media onto my device?
Thanks in advance...talk about a four hour headache...

I've used the Reset Network Settings feature in my iPod Touch after every failed attempt to connect to my wireless network. I've also reset the wireless access point and router after making changes to them.
It appears that my Touch is finding the wireless network, accepting the security password/key, and connecting to the wireless access point and router (I get a full signal on the strength indicator). However, the Touch appears to be acquiring the IP Address automatically, right? Thus, it gets the IP Address starting with "169". If I can manually set up the TCP/IP settings, I believe I can get it to connect. Is there a way to set up the TCP/IP settings manually?

  • Help i can't get itunes to install on windows 8

Can anyone help, I have a new DeLL Inspiron 14z and I can't get it to install itunes on windows 8.  I am trying th 64 version.  At first I had en error saying the Windows visual C++ 2005 was suspended and i had to change it, couldn;t do anything, someone recommened uninstalling them and reinstalling, wont let me unistall.  Now error when trying to install itunes simply says the instller has encountered errors,  I've checked out a few online suggestions and tried downloading as a saved file in explorer (i usually use chrome)  that was the same error.  I though if I download to winows 8.1 that might help, my user name is the administrator said i couldn't download as i'm not admin, whch i am, so i set up another user downlad got to 51% after 12 hours so cancelled it.  truth be told i dont know what i'n doing and i hate windows 8!  please help!
    Thank you

You can try downloading 7-Zip (free), or a free trial of WinRAR, and unpack the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe file into its components (put them in the root of C:\)  then try installing them individually in alphabetical order (don't try to install SetupAdmin.exe or iCloud.msi). AMDS might not install right now, but you may get a more useful error message as to why not, and you might be able to run iTunes even if you can't update your devices at this stage.

  • Help! Can't get network to work

I have Solaris 10 installed and running smoothly.. except I can NOT get my NIC card working. I swear it's harder to configure networking on Solaris than anything i've ever delt with. I have a 3COM 3C450 PCI NIC card, how do I know if Solaris has the drivers for this card installed, how do I install them, and how do I configure my IP address? I'm definetly not a Unix newbe, I've worked with Irix and AIX for many years, but this is extremely frustrating.
    Thanks

    Hello
    First step:
Check if the driver is running correctly. Type in "<b>/usr/sbin/prtconf</b>" or "<b>/usr/sbin/prtconf -v</b>".
This command prints information about all devices in the system and if the device is recognized by a driver or not (a message "Driver not attached" is shown if not). The "-v" variant shows more detailed information (you will get a huge number of lines).
    Second step:
Find out the name of the network card (example: /dev/hme0). Unlike Linux the ethernet cards do not all have the name /dev/eth* but different types of cards have different names (/dev/le*, /dev/ce*, /dev/hme*, ...).
    Third step:
    Test the card once:
    Type
    <b>ifconfig <i>name</i> plumb</b>
<i>name</i> is the name of the network card without "/dev/"; example:
    <b>ifconfig hme0 plumb</b>
The card is recognized as network card by the system. Then type:
    <b>ifconfig <i>name</i> <i>IP_address</i> up</b>
    Example:
    <b>ifconfig hme0 12.34.56.78 up</b>
The card is assigned an IP address and started.
    Fourth step:
Installing the card in the configuration files:
Add an IP address - host name pair for your computer in the /etc/hosts file.
    Then type
    <b>echo <i>my_host_name</i> > /etc/hostname.<i>cardname</i></b>
    Example:
    <b>echo mycomputer > /etc/hostname.hme0</b>
    Then reboot the computer.
Using DHCP is a bit more complex.
    Martin
