Help!  I can't get my computer to start!

I have had my PowerBook for about 3 months now. I type a lot of things in word. When I am done, I usually just hit the sleep button. When I go back, I just open the screen, and it pops right back up. Today, however, I could not get the screen to light up. I can get the computer to shut down, but when I try to restart it, I hear 3 beeps and the white light in front flashes. I only hear the 3 beeps when I first turn it on, but the white light flashes every once in a while. The battery seems to get really hot as well. I tried to remove the battery and hold the power button for 5 seconds. When I put the battery back in, the same 3 beeps sounded and the light flashed. Does anyone know why this would happen? Does anyone know of an easy way to fix this problem? Thanks for your help!

Hey, I've just had the same thing happen to me. Original RAM, no changes or upgrades. Closed the lid and let the book sleep. Then tried to wake it up and it wouldn't. Forced a shutdown and now every time I try to turn on three beeps. I switched RAM slots and it will partially load with the chip in the second slot but still hangs on the loading MAC OS X screen. To top things off I just arrived in Beijing for a year and no idea where to get the thing fixed here! Any help appreciated.
