Help! I can't import iMovie HD project to iMovie 11

I have this project I was working on for hours in iMovie HD (v. 6.0.3), but I wasn't happy with the editing features so I decided to upgrade to iMovie 11. In iMovie 11 (v. 9.0.8), I followed the command of File > Import > iMovie HD Project. Then I selected the project I had been working on with "optimize video" checked and the "Save to" location being HDD.
Once I clicked "Import" I got the following with absolutely no progress bar and no video clips. I have also tried unchecking the "optimize video" box and with different old iMovie HD projects and I always get the same thing: a blank project with no video clips. I also checked for updates for both iMovie 11 and iMovie HD and restarted my computer.

iMovie 1 to HD6 - is one product in up-grade
iMovie'08 to 11 - a compleatly different program with no relation to iMovie 1 - HD6 what so ever.
iMovie'08 to 11 are in my opinion no gain at all over iMovie HD6 only a severe loss of functions.
BUT I USE - miniDV tape = interlaced SD-Video and for this iMovie HD6 is the best tool - if one doesn't go for FinalCut Express or Pro (not Pro-X) - as these are realy the best ever done - for my video works.
So I would stay in iMovie HD6 and complete the Movie - or -
Start all over in Video-editor of choice (the one You like)
There are no working transcioding tools to move project over from iMovie HD6 to ANY THING ELSE - Not iM'08-11 or FinalCut any version - transitions, texts and other editings will not travel over in an editable form if at all.

Help, I can't import my CD songs to itunes for Windows.
My computer crashed. All my songs on CDs were titled by numbers "01", "02" etc. So I have many songs on various CDs titled "01" for example.
When I've tried to import various CDs, it seems like the different songs having the same names are confusing itunes, and my song tracks are getting mixed and muddled.
What can I do? Thanks for any help.

I started with vob files-- (precious home movies that were put on DVD), converted them to .mov and then even bought a Mac converter for $40 and now have avi and Mp4 versions. When I try to import, IMovie sees the files, but they are gray and can't be clicked on! Its so frustrating, I have been trying many different things on two different Mac's for three days now! I may have to, in desperation, do this project on a PC at work after hours. hope its something simple, thanks nice Mac users (I am a newbie)

Can you import iMovie '06 projects to Final Cut Express 4?

The just released FCE 4 toutes ability to import iMovie '08 projects. I don't like iMovie '08 - all my projects are in '06 - can I import them the the new FCE?

I imported a small '06 project to iMovie '08. Well, the only thing that was imported were the video and still images. Not imported - music tracks, transitions, titles.

How can I import iMovie HD 6 project files into Final Cut Express HD3?

Trying to import iMovie HD 6 projects into FCE HD 3 but 2 windows appear:
Importing XML data
and below it a
SAVE window
If I click SAVE, both windows disappear, a file with nothing in it appears in browser and when try to play it in the viewer, there is just black....
Is this all because FCE HD 3 won't support iMove HD 6? so I will need to upgrade to FCE HD 4?

Use File>Import>Files.
iMovie Projects as a whole do not Import correctly whereas individual clips do but will need the audio rendering to play correctly.

Can't import into Shapes Project Palette

I'm working through the Apple Pro Series DVDSP 3 and the lesson requires me to import a layered Photoshop file into Palette - Shapes - Project. Initially, I had to import and the file appeared in the Custom tab. I followed the steps to import into the Project tab (selection "For this project only"), but the file appears in Custom or not at all. Very frustrating. I've tried restarting DVDSP and that doesn't work. Can anyone help?

Help i can't import my CDs on the new itunes

I know that lots of people are having this problem because i have read alot of the posts, but if somebody would be kind enough to help i would really appreciate it. I can't import any of my CDs in itunes. The CD does not appear in the source list. Something flashes up when i put the cd in which i think is the gracenote thing.

HELP I can't import my photos from my Cannon to the Cannon app on my imac on Snow Leopard!

HELP - I just installed Snow Leopard & though I've uploaded photos from my Cannon Power Shot A590, since then ... But today while it opened the Cannon "Camera WIndow" & looks like the photos are being uploaded, an iMac box appears showing a: "failed to initialize program" message!!! Why
I've tried several times & can't import my latest photos from my Cannon to the Cannon app on my iMac, it doesn't recognize it? (I look at them there & often delete photos from the camera, then I import them to iPhoto.)
I've had a number of problems with Snow Leopard - in iPhoto, iWork, etc, since installing it. What gives?

I would also suggest that you check out iPhoto or Image Capture - both already in the Applications folder on your Mac - which should be heaps better than the Canon software. And, for what it's worth, you actually do not need any software to get pics onto your Mac - if you have your preferences set to display external drives on your desktop, the Canon icon should show up as soon as you plug it in. You can simply double click the icon and then look at the pics with Preview to decide if you want to keep or ditch it.
And the problems with your SL install most likely are the result of other apps not being up to date or compatible with SL - that happens every time. You need to check on compatibility of all the apps you have to you'll know what needs to be updated.

Why I can't import iMovie into Apple Configurator without asking me for more codes. If iMovie is free, and I upgraded the latest version and to Yosemite.

Previously, our school bought a number of codes for iMovie. One of our MacAirs that supervises some iPads through Apple Configurator showed that it was free. However, another Mac Air did not saying that I needed to import more codes. I upgraded everything, software, iMovie in iTunes, and Apple Configurator. Everytime I upload iMovie into Configurator it shows I only have 2 codes, while on the other MacAir, it shows it as free.

Can I import photos from iPhoto ('08; 7.1.5) into latest version of Aperture without upgrading my iPhoto to the iPhoto '11 version?
To elaborate a bit on TD's answer:
You can import only folders of images or selected image files that have been exported from older iPhoto libraries, not the libraries themself.
Aperture 3.4.5 cannot work with iPhoto Libraries that have not been upgraded to iPhoto 9.4. or later at all:
You cannot open them in Aperture:
And you cannot import them as a library to create an Aperture library from the older iPhoto Library.
Without upgrading to iPhoto '11 your only option would be to export your original images and the edited versions from iPhoto '08 and to import the folders of images into Aperture. That would be a lot of work, a waste of disk space, and break the lossless workflow. You will clutter your Aperture library with duplicates (version and edite image) that are no proper original-version pairs.
For a smooth transit from iPhoto to Aperture I strongly recommend to bite the bullet and to upgrade to iPhoto '11 to upgrade your iPhoto libraries to the new version 9.4.3 to preserve all the previous work - albums, books, ratings - you have done in iPhoto.

Can't importing a Flex project within a Java project

Hello,
I am taking over an existing project from a vendor that is no longer involved that has a two Flex projects inside of the Java project. I am using the Flash Builder plugin inside Eclipse. I have checked out the Java project locally and brought it into Eclipse and it builds perfectly. My issue is in getting Flash Builder to recognize or import the two Flex projects within. I have tried various methods of adding or importing the Flex project into my workspace but they all break the file structure in one way or another and thus make it impossible to compile in the structure that was set up. It looks like Flex was set up to build into the webapp/flash/projectname/build folder. No matter what I do Flash Builder creates other output folders or project folders. I have tried add project type, import and new. The original .project and .actionScriptProperties files are there but Flash builder seems to ignore them and create new ones elsewhere.
The file structure looks like this:

I am having same trouble. Installed JDK 5.0 Update 5. Installed the Studio. Ctrl+Shift+N, the only option I have is Web Application with Existing Ant Script.. Please advise how to solve this problem. thx

I edited a ton of raw footage in imovie and put into a project folder (with no theme applied). Now I want to import into aperature for a slideshow project and can't for the life of me figure out how. Any suggestions?

Can't import imovies to different projects

I have made a couple different movies in imovie and would like to import them together. Every time I go to File>Import, I get the following message
The file could not be imported: The file can’t be imported; QuickTime couldn’t parse it: -43
I did find out that I can select everything in the time line view and drag it over but i don't want to mess with all the clips. On my old imac (old meaning last year) I could import the movies and it would condense each one to one clip. Any help?

Hi Trevor - have you tried Sharing one of the movies to full quality QT, and then importing (or drag and drop) that file into your other movie?

Newbie help Can you import multiple ppro projects to encore

Hello, I'm using CS4 and I have several seperate projects that I have worked on in Ppro. I want to create a DVD that shows one of the projects upon start up.
I then want to have menu options that will allow the viewers to select my other seperate projects and watch those videos. Is this possible, or do I have to combine all of my little projects into one BIG project and do something.
Please advise......I am very confused.

I have done the dynamic link thing and it brings in my videos as Sequences/timelines like you guys said.
The problem i was having is when I opened a different project in Ppro, i would go to dynamic link and it would open a different encore screen. It would not import into the current encore project i was working on.
Can I not do a dynamic link for the second, third, and 4th projects I want to bring into Encore with my first project? Maybe that is my problem.....but i couldn't figure out how else to import these projects other than the dynamic link button.
I will continue to play around with it, and will look for the bins you have told me about.
If there is anymore help you could give, i would appreciate.

I just installed the latest version of iMovie - but I have a bunch of projects, events, etc. from previous version - going way back. Is there a way to move those items into the new version.

Yes. File - Update Projects and Events. Your iMovie 9 folders will still be available. (I would not delete any iMovie 9 stuff untill you are happy with iMovie 10 - its quite different.)

Premeire Elements 13 - can't import files into Project Assets, Expert Mode. Win8.1

Hello there - I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling. Can't seem to figure this out. In other computers, I have imported files into the Project Assets area to "pre-edit" before adding to timeline. I can add media directly to timeline in Quick Mode, but it's too cumbersome. Really need ability to select segments of media in the Project Assets list.
Any help greatly appreciated as I spent a ton of $$ on a new computer and program!!

What is the typical outcome...
a. Expert workspace open....Add Media/Files and Folders/and no import into Expert workspace Project Assets, but you do find the import switching to Quick workspace Filmstrip?
b. Quick workspace open....Add Media/Files and Folders and media goes directly to Filmstrip. And, if you switch to Expert workspace, you find copy of import in Project Assets?

and in the 13.0 Folder is the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file that you delete. If that does not work, then delete the whole 13.0 Folder in which the
Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exist. Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives enabled so that you can see
the whole path described.
If that does not work, then do the uninstall, free ccleaner run through (regular and registry parts), and reinstall with antivirus and firewall(s) disabled.
Download and install the 13.1 Update using an opened project's Help Menu/Updates.
