Help, I can't update Apps or Install New Ones!!!!
Ok, I've never had a problem like this before and I can't find anyone else describing this event.
First, I tried updating an app today and the app just sits there, trying to install, but never progressing. Here is a screen shot:
Second, I now can't install new apps either, screen shot:
I don't know what to do. I did a hard reset, (holding down the sleep and home button). That did not work. I have delted the apps, but then tried to reinstall with no luck.
I don't know where to go from here. I backup via iCloud and I've never even synced this phone to a computer. I don't want to lose everything that I have in Pages and in my Journal, etc. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get this to move forward?

Just to let anyone else know that has this problem, I spoke to an Apple Store employee and they suggested that I reset my Network Settings. It is found under Settings - General - Reset - Reset Network Settings.
DO NOT RESET ALL SETTINGS!
But I did use the Reset Network Settings and everything started working. So try that.
As a side note, the employee did tell me to do the Reset All Settings if the Network one did not work. He told me that it would not erase the phone, but just put the settings back to default.
Hope this helps someone else, because I am back to normal now!

I'm trying to update apps and download new ones on mi ipad, but it doesn't work... the icons say "waiting" and nothing happens for days!Help!
Here are a bunch of things that you can try to get the downloads to resume.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
Make sure that you do not have a stalled download in iTunes - a song or podcast .... if you have a download in there that did not finish, complete that one first. Only one thing can download at a time on the iPad so that could be what is causing the problem.
If that doesn't work - sign out of your account, restart the iPad and then sign in again.
Settings>iTunes & App Store>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
Go back to Settings>iTunes & App Store>Sign in and then try to update again. Tap one waiting icon only if necessary to start the download stream.
You can also try deleting the waiting icons - tap and hold down on an icon until it wiggles - the tap the X on the icon to delete it. Then try to download again.
You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again.
If all else fails, download the updates or the apps in iTunes on your computer and then sync the content to your iPad. -

I have been having trouble UPDATING or even INSTALLING new apps.
Is this because I have not installed the iOS 6.0.1 version?Probably not. What trouble? Describe what is happening. Error messages at all? The dreaded "waiting" icons?

I made a in game purchase and Ever since then I can't update my apps or anything iv tryied using my mums card my friends card my brothers and it keeps sayin your payment method has been declined but on my bank statement it says I've payed apple so why it not letting me update or download apps and do I have to have money in the accounts when u sign up a new payment method?? Please help will be much appreciated :) x

I am currently visiting the US and I was trying to install new apps and update existing ones but the system keeps bumping me out saying I need to switch to the SA store but I can't figure out how to do that

Ipod Touch can't update apps or download new apps
I can download new apps using my computer, but not on my ipod touch. I can't download new apps on it, or update existing apps. No error message at all. When I try to update apps, I select 'update all', it "thinks" for a couple of seconds, then stops. When I try to download a new app, the screen says 'waiting', then the app's icon briefly flashes on the screen and it's gone. Any ideas?
Tried creating a new Apple ID but that didn't fix the problem at all, still can't download new apps with it, and I don't think I could update existing apps with a new Apple ID anyway.You are right in that apps are tied to the account that originally purchased the app so you have to sign into that account to update the app.
- Have you tried resetting the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Next try restoring from backup
Last would be to restore to factory defalts/new iPod (last resort). -
Can't update Apps, now getting new error message
It's been weeks since I've been able to update my Apps on either my iPod touch, or from iTunes. In iTunes previously, it would say that there were updates available, but then when I clicked on Update it would tell me that there were no updates available, now I'm getting a new error message that says "You can not update this software since you have not owned the major version of this software." WHAT???? These are mostly free apps, and the others I paid for. I'm so tired of this. And on my iPod touch I get "Can not connect to the iTunes store," even though I can make purchases, download podcasts, etc. Any ideas. Thanks so much.
it's strange because not all update have this issue. I can update some free and paid apps ( over 10 update was succeful) and few (4-5)others have this problem and cannot be updated. Itunes didnt been updated since beginning of this issue.
For the free one who cannot be updated, i just deleted already owned in itunes and re-downloaded updated version again without any problem.But for my paid apps, i will need to wait That apple fix it.
I googled and i see this problem already happen in 2007 or 2008 but i just found problem report, no solution. I will try to spend couple minute to find out on google and try to call apple or contact apple expert on the web there tomorrow: http://www.apple.com/support/expert/ and come back to tell what they said. IPhone ain't update apps or download new ones from App Store
Hello I've been trying to download new apps on to my iPhone 5s running on 7.0.6 for some reason I can't download new apps from the App Store it will just spin and spin and never download nor will any of my apps on my iPhone update unless I hardware it to my laptop. If I got on my lab top I can download them from iTunes and transfer them to my phone but that's really inconvenient. I have tried to do hard reset on my phone but that did not work. Please help me it's driving me crazy!
There is no such thing as a "hard reset".
Basics from the User's Guide is reset, restart, restore (first from backup then as new). Try each of these in order until the issue is resolved. -

I've tried to download a free app a few times today, I get to the point where I have to put in my user ID and password and just keep getting a message saying can't connect to iTunes Store. Also I am unable to carry out any app updates. I have tried to do this on 3 different internet connections several times each. Anyone got any ideas??

This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year.Then see if you can connect to the store.

Anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID

Don't know where to get help. I just updated the software and I am having issues with not being able to update Aps or install new ones. The circles just spin and Aps just say "waiting." I tried running a diagnostic with the apple store and it came back with "power issues" (?) as a result. It wouldn't let me select an option to see what steps I could take to fix it, it just backed out of the page. I just don't know what to do.....

Thank you for your reply, I did go to my general settings, but for some odd reason I don't have a restrictions setting, or a reset setting. I thought I could reset all the setting to see if it could be that, but as I said there aren't any.
My husband also has the iPad 2, and also did the software update and hasn't had any problems at all. I took both iPad's and compared the settings thinking maybe there could be a setting that could have been changed when the update was done. -
After I enter my password, it shows that it is installing app then it goes back to the install app screen. I can still update apps though. I updated my software to iOS 6.1.3 and that did not help. I do not receive any error messages.
Did you find a solution for this? I have a user at work with this exact issue but on their iPhone 4S.

You need to delete and redownload them to do that. This may require repurchasing paid ones.

I have Firefox 3.6.3 running on a Toshiba Satellit laptop with Windows XP. I can't update add-ons, install google and yahoo toolbars, get any of the 3 desktop shortcuts to work or delete them, nor uninstall Firefox to try and start over. What a piece of crap! How can I wake up from this nightmare?
