HELP! i can't use my mail and i'm on a print deadline!
i was cleaning out some mail this morning and this pop up window supposedly from new egg promotions keeps asking me for a name and password. i can't cancel it, i can't delete it and everytime i close and open my mail its there! any suggestions?
ok.. managed to fix my own problem. i have three accounts set up in my mail program. before i closed out of the mail program last, i somehow selected one of my other accounts to view. so when i closed mail and reopened, i could go back to the affected account, right clicked on the offending message and deleted before i got that pop up window again asking for a user name & password. hope this makes sense and hope this helps if someone else has this problem creep up.

I tried to share a photo using e-mail and when i set up my gmail account I typed in the wrong user name and password.
Now I can't send a photo because i get an error message saying the user name and password do not match.
How do i save a new gmail user name and password??iPhoto Menu ->

Delete and recreate your email settings.
Alternatively, use Apple's Mail for the job. It has Templates too - and more of them. -
Please help, I can't find face time and Siri icon on my mini ipad? Just bought it I have the IMessage icon and is able to use it.
There is no Siri "icon". You access Siri using the Home button. But you may need to turn it on: Settings App > General > Siri. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4992

You would configure the iPad to connect to your email provider's IMAP servers. How that's done is specific to whatever mail provider you use. If it's one of the major email services like AOL, Hotmail or Yahoo, then you should be able to just create a new mail account on the iPad and follow the instructions you see on the iPad. If your email is not listed, then you'll need to contact your mail provider so you can know what to enter for the server name, etc.

Did you run all the software updates after the 10.6.3 update, especially this one which will bring you up to 10.6.8.

Are you wanting to stop the 41 files from opening at once or is this intentional? At what point do they open when you power on the mac or when you boot Illustrator? What OS version are you using?

That's part of the problem right there; 360 GB is a bit small to back up 206 GB. Ordinarily, a Time Machine drive should be 2-3 times the size of the data it's backing-up, so Time Machine can keep a reasonable "depth" of old backups for you.
It looks like Time Machine is trying to do a fairly large backup, and there just isn't enough room for it.
But something doesn't quite add up. Time Machine should have deleted all but your most recent backup, trying to make room for the new one. But that would mean there should only be a bit less than 206 GB on the disk, not 360.
A clue may be lurking in your logs. Use the widget in #1 of Time Machine - Troubleshooting to display the backup messages from your logs. Locate the backup in question, then copy and post all the messages here. -
For whatever reason, I can't use (mac) mail 3.6 on my mac G5 with Charter ISP. I would like to try Thunderbird (TB) - I'm now using Firefox 3.6.28. But I can't navigate through Mozilla to find older versions of TB. Can you suggest a URL for down loading older versions of TB, or, other alternative email programs?

I love this forum because everyone is a great helpful person.. .. However, I'd like to ask you couple things about the MacBook battery...
I know that now the battery has been improved, it leasts longer and it can support 1000 charging cycles.
(Right now I'm performing the battery calibration)
I'd like to know how can I use the battery and let it be perfectly healthy.
For instance,
1) If I connect the laptop to the MagSafe and let it charge, when should I remove the plug from the Mac and when should I put it in charge? I don't wanna continously waste cycles and let my battery die too soon (it's too young to die! :-D ) .. I use it mainly at home connected to the MagSafe: someone tell that even if you leave the MagSafe connected after the mac has been charged it stops charging (I can see this), and others say that is not a good thing to let the mac connected to the plug for a long time... with the old model I used to disconnect the battery from the mac so I didn't have these problems but with the new one it's a long procedure...
2) I usually use to calibrate the battery once a month... Is it a good thing?
