Help I cannot update or restore my iphone3gs?

Help I cannot update or restore my iphone3gs?
When I try to update  or restore my iphone3gs it say the required resource cannot be found. YES IPHONE3GS IS COMPATIBLE WITH IOS5. I went on the apple website and it came up with this:
The required resource cannot be found: This alert message occurs when your device has a newer version of iOS than what is available in iTunes. When troubleshooting a device that presents this alert message, go toSettings > General > About and check the version of iOS on the device. If it is newer than the latest released iOS version, the device may have a prerelease developer version of iOS installed. Installing an older version of iOS over a newer version is not supported.
I have never updated it before or done the pre-release thing. I dont understand how to fix it my iphone version is 4.3.3 (8J2) and modem firmware is 05.16.02.
plz help and thanks for your time

try goind to apple, support, type keynote update in the search box and download the version you need.
Also one or more of your third party apps could be the prolem. You can try uninstalling them one at a time till the download goes, then re-install them.

  • Ipodtouch(4G) 4.3(8F190) , cannot update or restore firmware with Itunes, it shows an unknown error 3192.

Hi, my new Ipodtouch 4G, using ios 4.3(8F190), I would like to update firmware to 4.3.2, even 4.3.3, it will stop between the processing, and display a message that there is an unknown error (3192), no matter I try to update or restore, What can I do now? Thank you.
    Wan

    This is what Apple says:
Error 3000-3999: (3002, 3004, 3013, 3014, 3164, 3194, and so on) Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the gs.apple.com server on ports 80 or 443. This may be because out-of-date or incorrectly configured security or firewall software is interfering, an entry in your hosts file redirecting requests to gs.apple.com, or due to your Internet proxy settings. If you are using a proxy, try without using one or with a known-good network. If that does not resolve the issue, follow iTunes for Windows: Troubleshooting security software issues. Error 3014 may indicate that you need to free up more disk space on the computer before trying to restore again.

  • Help please: cannot update or purchase apps

    Greetings,
I occasionally cannot update apps on my iPad - free or not free. I can never purchase new apps, free or not, and sometimes it won't let me update free apps.
I get an error message saying:
    UNABLE TO PURCHASE
"APP" could not be purchased at this time.
    Please try again later.
This has been happening for a few weeks. I've changed/updated credit card info, refreshed everything, restarted numerous times.
    Thanks

Nope - It thought it might be my slow internet connection in my new apartment, but when I went into work where it's fast, some downloaded, but a few others wouldn't. So now I'm even more confused. Sorry.

  • Cannot Update After Restore

I downloaded the new software for ipod (ipod for Windows 2005 11-17) and restored my ipod. However, when I went to update from itunes, I was never given the selection of update; it stayed on restored.
When I finally went to update my ipod, it was not able to do so and I never had any trouble in the past.
Has anyone experienced this problem and could you tell me how to successfully update my ipod after restoring? Thanks!

I am having the same problem with Ipod updater 2006-01-10. I have tried "Reset" "Update" and "Restore." I can see the IPOD mini in my iTunes folder, but the "Update Ipod" option is grayed-out. Currently my ipod is charged with no data. I have also tried a different USB port and restarting my computer. Is there a way to manually launch the "setup assistant?"

it seems that itunes can't connect to the apple servers. This is usually caused by your firewall. Turn it off. If turning it off doesn't help or you don't have a firewall, goto this site:

  • Cannot update or restore my ipod

I recharged my ipod shuffle in someone else's computer and it seems because i didn't remove it using itunes it is now completely stuffed. My O/S will recognise the hardware but if i try to view the contents through windows i get either a "Insert device into drive k:" message or "incorrect I/O" message. When i run the restorer it simply freezes up the second i insert my ipod. I am extremely computer literate but I am at my wits end with this any help would be much appreciated
    Ipod Shuffle   Windows XP

I have the same problem and of course I tried the 5 R's. The driver is not missing - how can you remove a driver that is built into Windows? Let's pretend you actually can't for argument's sake You certainly wouldn't do it on purpose then ask why the hardware's not working, would you?
    1. Reset your iPod, iPod nano, iPod mini, or iPod shuffle. <-- obviously.
    2. Retry your iPod with a different USB or FireWire port on your computer (please note that the latest iPods can only be synced through USB).
<-- shouldn't matter on onboard USB ports when it worked before on the same ports.
    3. Restart your computer, and make sure that you have the latest software updates installed.
<-- Like the drivers weren't already built-in to Windows and something's going to be updated in 2006 for Windows XP USB/Flash-drive support on PC hardware from 2002? Of course I'm updated.
    4. Reinstall your iPod and iTunes software. You can download the latest versions of iPod Updater and iTunes from our website.
<-- I hadn't installed iTunes at all when the problem occurred. Why do you need iTunes itself to fix an iPOD? There's a separate Update application *that doesn't notice iTunes isn't installed when you launch it*?
If it mattered, I'd expect this application to tell me. Or it's worthless.
    5. Restore your iPod using the latest iPod Updater. Please note that restoring an iPod will erase all songs and files on your iPod and restore it back to its original settings. After restoring, you can transfer your music and files from your computer back to your iPod again.
<-- doesn't work, "Cannot mount iPOD" But we knew that would happen if the drive cannot be opened in Explorer.

  • ADOBE I NEED HELP! - Cannot Update Suite

Well it has been a fun day! I am having an issue and I originally posted my problem in the Creative Suite - Windows forum and gave it a few days and the one reply I received did not solve my issue. So I decided I would have to contact Adobe Support. I first went to online chat which I prefer and spoke with someone. I was quickly told that they could not solve my issue and I would need to speak to a "product expert" and gave me the Adobe 800 Support Number. I then called and was told there would be a 2 hour wait! The system said it would call me back, which it did. I spoke with a man who said he would transfer me to the correct department. After being on hold for 10 - 20 minutes another man answered and I again explained my problem. He needed to research the issue. After another 10 minute hold I was told that another department handles these issues and I would be transferred again. As I write this I have been on hold going on 90 minutes with no answer. I had to hang up as I have other calls and work that must be taken care of today! Adobe your support is some of the WORST I have ever seen from a company of your size! There have been a few exceptions and I will say that in general the support provided here on the forums is excellent. This is the reason I now turn to this forum. I know that there are several Adobe employees that reply on this forum regularly and hopefully if someone cannot help me solve my issue the Adobe Employees can help me cut the crap and get to someone who can help.
    Here is my issue:
I am attempting to check for updates using the Adobe Application Manager on Windows 8 and I get this error:
The update server is not responding. The server might be offline temporarily, or the Internet or firewall settings may be incorrect.
I have seen this error before on Windows 7 and remembered that I needed to disable the Microsoft Virtual WiFi Miniport Adapter. I navigated to the correct place but the Miniport Adapter was not there. After a bit of searching across several forums I saw a recommendation to change <logLevel>2</logLevel>  to <logLevel>10</logLevel>. I attempted that and again it still did not work. I have also tried disabling my anti-virus protection and disabling Windows Firewall. Neither worked.
I am not sure what else to try or do at this point.
Are there any other recommendations to solve this issue?
Note: I am running Windows 8 Pro using the Creative Cloud Version of CS6 and I check for updates by going Help > Updates via any Adobe program.
    PLEASE HELP!

    Hi Lynda

  • Cannot update or restore iPod Touch

My son has an iPod Touch with iOS 6.1.2 and he has forgotten his passcode. At the same time, his hard drive crashed, so his newly re-installed iTunes does not recognize the device without a passcode. Fortunately, we did sync the device on my MacBook Pro a couple years ago, so at least my machine sees it.
I was able to pull off all of the photos, apps, and music that he has purchased over the last year, so at least we have that backed up to my system.
When I put the iPod into recovery mode, iTunes insists on updating iOS to 6.1.5 before doing a restore. I click to agree to everything (no choice, really) and then wait the 10 minutes or so for it to download the ~850Mb update. After it downloads, my Mac sits and thinks about it for a couple of minutes, then iTunes says it is "processing" the download. A few seconds later an error message indicating a network timeout to the iPod is displayed. (Screen shot below.)
On some other postings it was suggested that the Internet connection for the computer needs to be disabled in order to sidestep the update. This, too, fails because iTunes will not do anything with the iPod unit it can contact the iTunes store.
The iPod is functional in every way (other than being locked because we cannot remember the passcode) and I'm running the latest version of iTunes on Mavericks. If I can get the silly iPod wiped then I can restore all of the apps and data to it manually, but I can't seem to get out of the gate.
    Suggestions?
    Thanks in advance!

Disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall during the download and update/restore usually resolves the network timeout error.

  • Cannot update or restore ipod Shuffle

Having trouble restoring my iPod shuffle with iTunes7- it says that it cannot be restored because it contains files that are in use by another application.
This message also appears when I try to eject the Shuffle in iTunes.
I also noticed that of the 512Mb capacity, 91.3Mb is taken up by "other" files.
I did the unit set up for disk use a while back but since switched back to normal use.
    Any ideas please?

    Hi there,
I just wanna let you know what happened! By the way, I STILL extremely appreciate your info of where we can still download ITUNE 6, and ipod-updater, my friend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
For me and my PC, having itune6 back “only” was a partial solution. I went to the local apple store to meet a mac genius in person, explaning the specific situation. Thank God, she instantly got it. Anyway, I could finally mobilize my ipod-shuffle again with itune6 with PC. In the mean time, I have NO plan to going back to itune 7 again.
What a horrible experience it was!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think she saved the face of Apple because I almost was READY to start a serious BOYCOTT movement using my personal connection with a nationally popular radio talk radio host, which was to seriously demonize the (greedy & corrupt?) APPLE. However, because of her sincere caring, wisdom, I will back off for a while and keep my faith in APPLE that they will work so hard to come up with better version of itune 7, hopefully has NO PROBLEM with ipod-suffle ( I noticed that ipod with larger memory have ZERO problem with itune 7) with window system.
    Thanks L @ genius bar!!!!!!

  • HELP? Cannot Update From iOS 5.0 to 6.0

I have an iPhone 4S with an issue here that is super strange.  Last fall I downloaded the iOS 6.0 ipsw file update through iTunes and saved it to my desktop.  I am just now trying to update my iPhone which is still running iOS 5.0, and I keep getting this error message "This device isn't eligible for the requested build".
Currently I am running iTunes 11.0.2 (but not sure if that makes a difference).  Also I have Googled this error and tried all of that "host" file editing but it didn't help, so I just set the file back to the way it was.
Anyone with tips to remedy this would be greatly appreciated.  Please note I have never done any jailbreaking and I really hope I don't have to start.
    Thanks!

Can you get a Wi-Fi connection on your iPhone?
I got an Internet connection on my phone, went to SETTINGS --> GENERAL --> SOFTWARE UPDATE and updated my Software wirelessly (no iTunes involved).
When I connected my phone to my Computer again and iTunes popped up, it showed that my iPhone software was up to date. Then I could restore to an old back-up.

If you have more than one user account, these instructions must be carried out as an administrator.
Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
Select "/var/log/install.log" from the file list. Post the messages from the last installation or update attempt, starting from the time when you initiated it. If you're not sure when that was, start over and note the time.
Post the log text, please, not a screenshot. If there are runs of repeated messages, post only one example of each. Don’t post many repetitions of the same message.
When posting a log extract, be selective. Don't post more than is requested.
Please do not indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into a message.
Important: Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Edit it out by search-and-replace in a text editor before posting.
