  • Importing previously purchased content to new itunes

My compuer had a bug and they completely wiped out my hard drive. I reinstalled Itunes on my computer and it easily added all the music found on my computer, but all of the music I previously purchased on itunes was nowhere to be found. I thought "check for available updates" might download my previously purchased content to my new computer. did i lose the hundreds of dollars of music i had purchased from itunes? Is there anyway I can use my account records to get all those songs into my new itunes library?

Hopefully this article helps you out.

  • Need Help with music on my iphone with a new itunes download

    Hi,
My old computer has died. All my music is on my iphone 5. Ive installed itunes onto a new computer and cant seem to get my music from my phone onto the itunes libary on my new computer. Also every time I try and get the music from my new computer onto my iphone it comes up with a error????
I cant seem to sync the phone to the new itunes either, even though its the same apple id and password.
    Any help would be awesome.
    Cheers Evelyn )

Once the Mac can see your Mac then you can use a program such as PhoneView (http://www.ecamm.com/mac/phoneview/) to see the content of you iPhone and transfer it to the Mac.
Did the Mac die or did the HD die? If the issue is the Mac then you should be able to remove the HD and install in an external case to transfer the content to the new Mac.

  • Problems purchasing music from new iTunes

Installed new iTunes, now some music only downloads the digital booklet for the album, and some single songs do not download. They do not show up in recent puchases, although they appear in my account as purchased.

I can individually re-download each song from the initial search page and then they show up. The "Report a Problem" button does not work on either the music receipt or from the accounts page.

  • HT1848 How do you transfer your purchases with the new iTunes format?

I'm trying to update my iPod but it keeps saying I have to transfer my purchases. But I don't know how to with the new iTunes format...

On iTunes 11 you can do it via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases, or I've changed the view on mine so that the old sidebar shows via View > Show Sidebar and I can then control-click the device (right-click if you are on windows) and select Transfer Purchases from the popup

  • HELP! Cant import folders from ext drive to itunes

I've recently had problems with my PC so, decided to copy all the stuff from my 60gig iPod to my external hard drive. I uninstalled iTunes then reinstalled it & tried to copy the folders from my ext drive back into itunes but, it's not moving them all. A number of folders exist with the name of the band & these seem to be ok - they look like typical folders in a windows explorer view. There is a shaded folder called "music" which when opened then contains more shaded folders with the folder names of "F00, F01" etc. These folders will not import to itunes no matter what I do. I have tried to "import folder" but it doesn't work, I have tried to move the folders back to my C drive but itunes doesn't recognise them. I have updated the "advanced" tab in the preferences to my ext drive / pointed to the folder "music" but, it still doesn't import the files. Can anyone help or offer some suggestions please? I'm really hacked off by this as I cant sync my iPod up as I'll lose everything on it. thank you!!!

You are not the only one... Several threads exist on this topic - iTunes refusing to import (all) files from folders - but no solution yet it seems, and Apple is not responding at all...

  • Help i cant load music from my dell to itunes

i just got my special edition U2 ipod video and have imported some cds on it but recently my uncle at his house tried to put music on my ipod NOT through itunes and stored about 500 songs and about 12 videos on it, and put it in my contacts. now i can axcess the music if i plugg in my ipod go to my computer and open the link through ipod connection and open my contacts and open up the music he labbled MP3 and there they all are. Now my qustion is how do i get those songs to my ipod? help please!

You have to use iTunes to be able to play/transfer the music (or another program that will allow iPod syncing, but this isn't the forum to discuss that) on your iPod. It sounds like you're using the iPod as an external hard drive currently. Again, this won't allow the stuff to play. You'll need to import the music into iTunes and then transfer. This should help:

  • Help! I've lost purchased TV shows from iTunes

I have iTunes 7.3. I recently purchased several episodes of "The Office" from the iTunes store. Magically, they, along with almost 400+ songs disappeared. Well, they didn't disappear, but when I would double-click to play them, I got the wonderful little exclamation point, with the whole "This file cannot be found, would you like to locate it?" which, they were there, in the iTunes library, but not showing up actually in iTunes. But "The Office" episodes are gone. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Any positive solutions? I've tried searching in Spotlight, in my Trash bin, but I can't find them. Please tell me that they're not all gone.

Plug your iPod into iTunes and double check your sync settings from under its TV Shows tab to make sure you have it set up to sync these new TV episodes.

  • How do I transfer a purchase to a new iTunes on a new computer

I purchased a sond on one PC through Itunes. Now I want that song on my macbook, but I don't have an Ipod. How do I see that song in the itunes on the new computer?
Itunes immediately synchronized the ballance in dollar amount ( surprize-surprize), but the song.....where do I start. FIrst of all, when I look it up in the itunes on a new computer - it offers to buy it again!!!!
But when I click on it, it says "purchased". So how do I get that song to the this computer? . Oh yeay. "Check for new downloads" menu says that all items are donwloaded, but that's not true!

Go to the iTunes Store. Click on "Purchased" near the upper right part of the iTunes Window. You can re-download all of your previous purchases there.

  • HT1848 How do you transfer purchases on the new iTunes?

Please help my old computer crashed and not all of my music was on the cloud. All the help pages show me how to transfer on the old itunes set-up which i already knew but none of it is working on this set-up. I'm lost.

  • Where is complete library (non-purchased songs) in new iTunes software

I faithfully upgrade to new versions of iTunes. But now that I'm trying to move a CD of songs I ripped, I see that the "Library" is no longer viewable. I ripped hundreds of CDs I owned. Where are they?

Thank you, but my menu under File -- Library does not show the ripped songs from my own CDs. The choices are to export the library, import album artwork etc.
I am quite literally looking for the songs. The top choice in iTunes used to say "Library" and it contained all my songs (over 4,000) The only ones that display now are iTunes purchases (around 2,000). I've already checked through preferences too, and haven't found a solution there.

  • So I need to authorize a new computer, but I cant find the option on the new itunes store?

so i just cant find it. its stressing me out.

If the computer's running Mac OS X, move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on Store, and choose Authorize this Computer.
If the computer's running Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings (if you can)
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.
