Help, I did not enable push notifications for the Reminders app

If I was asked if I wanted push notifications for the Reminders app and I declined, how do I go back and enable that feature? Thank you in advance for the help.

No problem. See the restoring topic of:

What upgrade are you trying to install? Your profile shows iOS 5.1.1, which is the current max iOS.

Hello, I am running a Mac book pro soft. 10.5.8 version. Since June the current year I did not get any updates for the software or any kinds of the other application, in my opinion that's weird for such a company.
The problem that I have now is with the Iphone 5 which is not supported for the current Itunes and I can not download the Itunes 10.7 version. What I supposed to do in this case because I can not syncronize at all.
Please give me a hand as soon as possible.
    Many thanks

Mac OS X 10.5.8 is years old, 3 major versions out-of-date and unsupported at this point. You will never get any further updates for 10.5.8, and more and more applications will stop supporting 10.5.8 as time goes on. As mende1 points out, you can buy Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6), which will let you use your new iPhone with your computer, but you need to make sure your computer's hardware is supported. See the system requirements for Snow Leopard:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
If your computer cannot run Snow Leopard, you will need to either buy a new computer or abandon any thoughts of syncing the iPhone with that computer.
Also, note that you'll get far better integration of your iPhone and your Mac if you're using Lion (Mac OS X 10.7) or Mountain Lion (Mac OS X 10.8), which are required to use iCloud. Of course, the requirements of those systems are even steeper than those of Snow Leopard:

Click the "Purchase" tab at the top.
You should see a line saying "You have 3 Apps to Accept".

  • Push notifications for the social networking are not working. How to fix it?

Try to solve the problem of push notifications of social networking apps which are not working on my iphone 4. Fix it please..!

If you go to settings-->general-->accessibility then scroll down you'll see "increase contrast." Turn that off and your control center and notification center should become more transparent. I had the same problem and that's how I fixed it! Hope it works :)

  • Why won't my push notifications for the app snapchat work after yesterday's iOS update?

After yesterday's update the app snapchat won't send me push notifications anymore

    Hello Nhuphham,
It sounds like you are not receiving your Snapchat notifications on your iPhone.  I found an article with steps that might help with this:
    Additional Information
If you have an app that could send frequent notifications (for example, Mail with high-traffic email accounts, Twitter apps, and so on), your iOS device could wake frequently to display the notification (and affect battery life). You can disable "View in Lock Screen" for a particular app in Settings > Notifications > <app name>.
    Troubleshooting notifications
Push notifications require an active Wi-Fi or cellular connection. If you are not receiving notifications for a specific app, try these steps:
Verify that the app supports notifications.
After installing an app or restoring a backup to a different iOS device, open the app at least once to begin receiving notifications.
If the app requires entering or logging in to an account, you will need to do this before receiving notifications.
Check Settings > Notifications to ensure that the app is configured for notifications.
If notifications do not appear only in the Notification Center, verify that the Notification Center setting for the app is enabled.
If you are still unable to receive notifications and you are using a Wi-Fi connection, verify that the network or firewall is not blocking access to port 5223.
You can find the full article here:
    iOS: Understanding Notifications

If you are still not receiving the notifications for Snapchat after following those steps, I recommend continuing with the steps in the following article:

  • My Iphone wont send push notifications for the app Telegram, what do I do to fix it?

When my Iphone is locked the push notifications will work for every app but one. My telegram app wont push notifications when someone messages me, what setting can I change to fix it?

    Hey gingertodd0911,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
This article has information that may help you resolve the issue with no push notifications for that app on your iPhone 5s.
About Notifications on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support
Not getting notifications for a specific app
Push notifications require an active Wi-Fi or cellular connection. If you’re not getting notifications for a specific app, try these steps:
Go to Settings > Notifications to verify that the app supports notifications. If notifications do not appear in the Notification Center, make sure that the Notification Center setting for the app is enabled.
Make sure you’re signed in to your Apple ID.
If you’ve recently installed an app or restored a backup, open the app to start getting notifications.
    So long,

  • Able to enable push notification without publishing to app store?

    Hello,
Is it possible to enable push notifications on an app by only putting the app on an ios device but not publishing to the app store?
I am developing an app for a competition and would like to demo the push notification functionality but do not have access to publishing to the app store, thus I am just running the app on the device as a way of demo.
    Thanks!

There is no such thing. If you had a real developer account, you would be able to install your app on the device as well as test things like push notifications while in development.

  • Faulty Push Notifications for Emergency Weather Apps

There are several weather related 3rd party apps being sold in the Apple App Store that offer to provide push notifications in the event of severe weather at the iPhone users location.  However, I believe these apps are NOT pushing the warning out to users immediately when the National Weather Service issues the warning.
I suspect it is due to how the app developers are handling (and footing the cost) of pushing the data.  Many times the warning notification comes AFTER a storm has passed.
This is extremely dangerous and it would be appreciated if Apple could investigate this problem, which could serve to help public safety.

This is a potential public saftey issue, in which I would hope Apple would consider.  App developers will listen to Apple, not one lonely customer.
I am just glad that I know not to depend upon these apps.  After trying several of the weather warning apps in the store, none pushed a warning until the storm was almost over.  Where I live is tornados and hail are common, it would be nice to have reliable push warnings on a phone, especially during sleeping hours.  I also don't think Devs should be making $ off of unreliable warnings.

  • What's a good replacement for the reminders app?

Hello everyone, thanks for your input.
I've been on the phone with Apple support about this for some time and it seems that this was a core change made in Yosemite and since I "upgraded" to icloud drive, I can't just back to Mavericks and still having things sync via icloud.
The reminders app no longer supports grouping of completed tasks by the day they were completed, and instead just shows a big list of every reminder ever completed in that list. I have to note what proofs and designs  I make on a time sheet at the end of each pay period and to do that I need to know what task was completed what day. Reminders was a very slick way to keep track of both the things that still need doing as well as see what was completed when. Now that I've installed Yosemite the only way to see completed reminders organized by day is to log into the icloud web interface on an OSX or windows computer and I'm concerned that that's not going to be an option for much longer since iOS 8 and Yosemite have both removed it.   It's a small change but its absolutely core to what I do. It's one of those little workflow things that seems inconsequential but has the potential to accumulate and just totally screw up your my Sundays and delay my pay checks if not done right.  All the solutions I'm coming up with, from tally them in an excel sheet to noting them in the calendar app instead of reminders, to just writing them down on postits are all kind of a clumsy, error-prone steps backward to the point that rolling back to Mavericks is looking like the best option (a painful option but at least it's just a 1-time pain)
Before I start the mess of going in and rolling back to Mavericks and all that that entails I just wanted to see what other options are out there? Surely there's a 3'rd party app that does what reminders used to do.
Ideally I just want it to do 3 things
         1. let me add simple reminders from OSX, ipad or iphone
         2. sync them to all the devices.
         3. let me organize the completed reminders by what day they were completed.
    Thanks!

    Wunderlist
I would love to see reminders with better snchronization features... Not just between ios and OSX but also between ical-google cal etc...
A good alternative right now is Wunderlist from the Mac app store.
Pretty much does the same thing..
It has Notification and widget snchronization with Yosemite.
It also syncs between Ical Google Calendar, android and ios....
Reminders needs a lot of work in my opinion.
Wunderlist does what Reminders should be doing.
    It definitely addresses 1, 2
3 is also done... You will have to check it out to see if it does it the way you want....
If its for bussiness I would suggest you use the pro paid version for added functionality.
Free version is however great also.

  • Not getting push notifications for mail

    Hello,
I set up some email addresses in Mail (IMAP, for a business I started) this morning and I set up notifications so that I get banner notes and have "notification center", "badge app icon" and "show in lock screen" turned to ON for all the emails.
Everything seems to be working right except I don't get any notifications until I actually activate the "Mail" app.
I was hoping to get notifications when an email is received (the way my gmail app works).
Is there a setting I'm missing to have my emails pushed to the phone to trigger a notification instead of the app only checking for mail when I open it up?
I'm leaving it running in the background. I've tried restarting the app and restarting my phone.
    Thank you

Do you have Fetch and Push turned on?

  • HT201303 I did not enter my ID for an IN App purchase and now to my surprise, find that I am being billed 49.99

UGH! I just received an email billing statement stating the I was being charged for an IN APP upgrade.  It was a game my daughter was playing with and She DOES NOT know my password.  Do I have ant recourse on this, and how do I pursue? Thanks!

    Suzie
    I sympathise with you.
We are fellow users here, you must contact Apple or your credit card company to try to resolve this.
In your email invoice for the £69.99 there may be a Report a Problem link, but I've found they don't work as well as they used to.
    Try:
    https://expresslane.apple.com/
Did you buy anything (free or otherwise) just before your son got hold of the iPad?
I've always found that if you've entered your password to purchase or update in the last 5-10 mins that you don't get asked for it again - I think this should be optional for app store purchases but definitely for in-app purchases if they allow kids to rack up extortionate costs.
I hope Apple can do the right thing for you.
£69.99 is a ridiculous in-app purchase cost.  Do you know what the app was?
