Help! I have album cover OCD! Art not saving!

I save all the cover art in a file on my computer that itunes can't find. There is one album that is annoying the heck out of me. It was a CD of my friends that I uploaded (So deleting and re-uploading isnt really an option). When I try to upload my cover art it comes up in the Get info but as soon as I click Ok its gone! I go back into it and the cover art is blank again! Help muchly appreciated!!

If you embed artwork to all files in an album it takes up more drive space.  It may not sound like much but if it is high resolution artwork and you have thousands of files it could represent a few GBs of drive space.  iTunes keeps only a single copy of artwork per album but this is only in iTunes library, not the files.
So if you really do want to embed artwork:

  • Podcast Get Info Album Art Not Saved for Future Episodes

I have iTunes 8. I noticed most of my podcasts have album art showing in grid view. When I upgraded to 2.1 on my iPhone and synced my iPhone I noticed no album art on the podcast main page on the iPhone. I decided to restore the phone to a new phone not backup and the new sync of my podcasts showed album art. However inside each podcast the album art wasn't showing on each episode.
Looking at iTunes for those affected episodes doing a Get Info showed not album art. I guess the podcast doesn't have album art. I right click on the podcast, not an episode, and select get info. I click on the album art box and check the box and inside the album art box double click which brings up a navigation display. I had already taken a screen shot of the album art in the iTunes music store for each podcast. I import the graphic to the album art box and save. All the current episodes have their artwork updated. Now I sync to the iPhone and all is well.
If I download a new episode for this podcast and do a Get Info on this episode there is no artwork. Looking at the Get Info for the podcast the artwork was never saved. However if you change a text field in Get Info and then download a new podcast episode that text field in the get info of the episode is updated. Why doesn't the album art not get saved and update each episode that is downloaded with missing album art?
    Am I missing something?
    Thanks
    Kelvin

Yeah, on my iPhone some of the album art for my podcasts was actaully changed to an arbitrary incorrect image. For example, instead of the Cranky Geeks logo, I get to look at New Kids on the Block (don't ask). I'm going to try unsubscribing from the podcast, deleting past episodes from my computer, sync the phone so it wipes out those old episodes and incorrect art, and then resubscribing and resyncing the phone. Hopefully that will transfer the correct art back up to the phone.

  • Album Art Not Saving

I have iTunes 11 and have imported a CD of my own making.  I have a JPG file that I want to use for album artwork.  I select the album and Get Info and then paste the image into the album artwork field.  The artwork appears, but it is not saved when I click OK.  All other album artwork I have added saves just fine.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    John

    Mario,
Thanks, but I think I figured out that the problem is with the file format.  I have some files in WAV format and those do not seem to allow album artwork to "stick".  Once I changed the file to Apple Lossless format, the album artwork "stuck" just fine.
What was confusing is that iTunes gave no indication of the fact that album art does not work with WAV files.
    Thanks,
    John

  • Trouble with newly downloaded albums duplicating themselves and not saving in the right place.

When I buy an album from iTunes it created grey duplicates i can't delete and doesn't show up in my media location on my external drive. It's plays from the iCloud but the download from iCloud is greyed out. I didn't sign up for iTunes Match. But I think I do have an iCloud acount. Not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Next to the songs in question in my library there is a dotted line circle where the track number should be. The duplicated are all greyed out and it won't let me delete them. It also won't find the artwork even when I ask it to. It should up on my iPhone though. When I was clicking on the available downloads (not sure why i have to do this, instead of it downloading automatically), I got a pop-up message saying it was unable to find my external drive, but that is ******** becuase it's still shows the right location and path in the iTunes Media Folder Location in the advanced tab in Preferences.

Somewhat resloved. I quit iTunes and restarted it. The albums are their now and the duplicates are gone. Now the option to download it from the cloud is there and the album art has also appeared. Still not sure what caused the issue. I think it was a glitch or freeze with the cloud.

  • Album Art not saved

Hi, i am trying to include album art to my songs and i click and drag to the space for album art. It seems it is saved because it appears. but if i select another song and then i come back to the song i set the album art, there ir no album art.
    What is happening?
In preious versions i did not hace this bug.

I have to chime in here too. I am also not able to get iTunes to save album artwork I've downloaded from other online sources (Amazon, other JPEG images of album covers, etc). I've tried various methods (selecting individual song, drag artwork to viewer box or open the Info dialog and drag image to that ARTWORK tab or use the ADD button to locate image files, and also trying to select a whole album and dragging the image to the multiple selected songs) but nothing works. I've checked by making sure the viewer box is on Selected Song rather than Playing Song, etc etc. It just doesn't want to keep the song artwork no matter what I do.
I am the admin for the computer so permissions shouldn't be an issue, but how do I check?
I'm using iTunes 6.0.1 and I've tried this on many different songs. It does keep the artwork for songs I've purchased thru ITMS, natch, just not the ones I've ripped from my own CD collection.
Does the artwork need to be saved to a specific place to work? I looked thru folders in my library and couldn't find image files for songs I've purchased.
    I hope somebody can help!

  • Album art not saving to actual file, how do I resolve this?

The music in my iTunes library all has album artwork, however, some of the actual files in Finder do not have this embedded. How is it possible to get this album art to save to the actual file without having to individually edit the ID3 tags with a 3rd party editor?

If you embed artwork to all files in an album it takes up more drive space.  It may not sound like much but if it is high resolution artwork and you have thousands of files it could represent a few GBs of drive space.  iTunes keeps only a single copy of artwork per album but this is only in iTunes library, not the files.

  • Downloaded album art not saved in mp3 file?

When I use iTunes to download missing album art, that art is not being saved in the MP3 file. I verified this behavior by checking that the file timestamp and size didn't change after the art was successfully downloaded and displayed within iTunes. As a second check, I also deleted the music from my library and re-added it, and the art work is missing again.
Only if I drag the jpg image to the blank artwork window does it seem to "stick".
    Any ideas? Thanks.

Yes, if you download album art through iTunes and then later manually add art to the tag, the downloaded version is replaced. I think it still remains in the folder on your computer, but it does get replaced in the native song file. What I'll do is download the artwork from iTunes, then copy it and paste it directly into the tag for a permanent "attachment" to the song.

  • Help. My site published but is not saved in iWeb

I am completely flummoxed. I put together a one-page site yesterday and published it to Mobile Me fine. But when I went into iWeb today to make some changes the finished, published version of the site is not there. All I have is the original template from before I started work on it.
How come it hasn't saved into iWeb on publication?
And how do I get the finished version of the site back into iWeb so I can edit it?
    Thanks
    Sarah

First, download  Find Any File  and use it to search for "domain.sites" to see if there are more than one domain file.
If there is try the other to see if it contains your site.  If there is no other domain file but the one in your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder, try the following:
delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your Home()/Library/Preferences folder.
go to your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.
    launch iWeb and try again.
If that doesn't help continue with:
move the domain file from your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to the Desktop.
launch iWeb, create a new test site, save the new domain file and close iWeb.
go to the your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and delete the new domain file.
move your original domain file from the Desktop to the iWeb folder.
    launch iWeb and try again.

  • No album cover art in Finder for mp3's?  What a downgrade.

I have album cover art imbedded in ALL my mp3 files and they used to show up perfectly in Finder.  Now, I see NOTHING.  Cover art still shows in iTunes, but not Finder.  Any fix for this?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hello  Nikicampos
I have no such problem with iTunes with a library of more than 30000 songs.
I used to be a Weekend DJ with many many Albums.
Which view in iTunes does not give you an Artwork.
One thing to note is the list view, will give you an Artwork only if there is more song than the size of the Artwork icon.
    here is an example
I left only two song in the Hush Album to show that list view, wont give you the Artwork in this case.
but as you can see, the info of the selected song show the artwork.
in the finder, without Icon Preview checked, you wont see the artwork.
    With icon Preview Activated
    I do have more question
Why do you convert the song ?
if the original song is an aiff, wav or a movie, the artwork cannot be inserted inside the file, so converting it will result into a song without artwork.
Sometime you will see a file marked MPEG-3 but it is a video. Open it into Quicktime, export it as a audio file then put it in iTunes, and if the file is mp3 or mp4, AAC, then you can insert the Artwork.
I probably dont fully understand your problem, give me more info but I am using iTunes since the very first version and I never hard a problem with artwork.
Could you give more detail about your problems?
    Thank you
    Franco

Hello sir Every time I do the process of registration in Mogah Apple Store and the period and the period of the account is lost I do not know what the problem is there are people who enter into my account and change email We ask God to help you have an account I can not restore it the way I do not know where and I do not speak English Aalit Aalit help me I'm in a state of panic for your reply eagerly awaited
This old Emily Hope you reply and help me [email protected]

For what it's worth, you posted this in 2011, and here in 2014 I am still having this same issue. Over the last two days, I have had to unlock my apple account 8 times. I didn't get any new devices. I haven't initiated a password reset. I didn't forget my password. I set up two factor authentication and have been able to do the unlocking with the key and using a code sent to one of my devices.
    That all works.
It's this having to unlock my account every time I go to use any of my devices. And I have many: iMac, iPad, iPad2, iPad mini, iPhone 5s, iPod touch (daughter), and my old iPhone 4 being used as an ipod touch now.  They are all synced, and all was working just fine.
I have initiated an incident with Apple (again) but I know they are just going to suggest I change my Apple ID. It's a simple one, and one that I am sure others think is theirs. I don't want to change it. I shouldn't have to. Apple should be able to tell me who is trying to use it, or at least from where.
    Thanks for listening,
    Melissa

  • Since downloading the "NEW' itunes my ipod touch will not sync correctly - songs I've added to playlists on my pc and podcasts that have newly downloaded do not synk to my ipod - I want the old version back with the album cover display - help

Now running itunes version 11.0.1.12 since the update I've added songs to playlists and they won't sync - I was able to get the songs into my ipod library by downloading from the cloud but they wouldn't even sync from my pc library to my ipod - when I first downloaded this crappy update - so sorry i did - the thing wouldn't sync at all after rebooting my windows xp pc three times it says it syncs fine and goes through all the motions but it won't pull over new content at all - songs or podcasts -  on top of that the new version seems to have done away with the album cover display - I just got an android phone as a gift i was going to take back I may keep it now and drawer my beloved ipod now that apple has made it obsolete

There's a good guide here on how to roll back to 10.7 https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4559563?tstart=0

  • How do I get rid of artwork that is automatically put in from itunes.. it is not the album cover...which I used to have. How it disappeared I have no idea???

Some of my artwork (album covers) have disappeared and been replaced by some funky designs???  I don't know what I clicked on to make this happen but they seem to be disappearing more and more?  I copied the artwork from my other computer and put them in a folder to replace them.  When I click  on the far rt. hand icon at the bottom left corner of the screen where it pops up and lets you put custom artwork etc in if you choose I can paste the album cover there but it doesn't lock it in or replace it over in my album nor in my cover flow??  Hope that makes sense!
    Please help

  • Songs Won't Play, Album Art Not Modifiable, ID3 Tags, Need Help

I have a 32 GB iPod Touch, Windows Vista, the latest version of iTunes and Quicktime as well as the latest iPod software.
I noticed the other day that a bunch of my songs were missing album art. I have a library with almost 7,000 songs and I have album art for everything. I went to the songs to attempt to fix the album art and noticed that it said, Album Art Not Modifiable, in the Album Art preview screen. I thought that was weird and it wouldn't let me add new album art to these albums.
I also noticed that none of these songs would play. They wouldn't play on my iPod or on iTunes. You can click play and it looks like it's going to play, but the counter never leaves "0".
I thought something was wrong with my files and that I would have to re rip or download the songs. However, by chance I opened one of the songs in Window Media Player and it worked, so I knew the files were fine.
I did a search online and found several people with the same problem and a few things to try. But nothing worked until I stumbled upon a solution of setting the ID3 tags to version "None", then setting them to version 2.4. I tried it and it worked.
But now it keeps happening, I get a new group of albums every day that won't play.
Can anyone tell me what is causing this?
    How do I prevent it?
Do I really need to take every song in my library and change the ID3 tags, that could take forever?
Could anyone please help and shed some light on this.
    Thank You

Thanks for replying, Please read our Operating System details before taking a guess about what 'could' be the problem...
I think I figured it out anyway, Windows Media Player might be adding extra information that iTunes does not like, either Windows Media Player and/or iTunes 7.7.1 don't conform to ID3 v2.4 standards...
Please fix your software, Apple. I know how you love to be unique and mock PC users with your one-sided advertisements but at least conform to the ID3 standards.
