Help! I have forgotten my apply id password and I cant reset this because the email address I have used as my apple id is no longer in use!

I am trying to reset my apple id password but unfortunately when I first purchased the phone I used an email address that is no longer in use. Help how can I reset my password I have forgotten with out having to pay £25 to talk to apple support?? Thanks in advance

Are you running modified software on your phone? This error seems to be common if the firmware has been modified and you're trying to restore the phone again.

Just reset your phone:
Press the Sleep/Wake button & Home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.
This should let you use the phone normally, no restore needed.

The Apple ID and Password that was Originally used to Activate the iDevice is required.
If you cannot get this information from the seller

I did a factory restore and then restored it with iCloud back-up. I have been using lots of Apple products and i have used three different email adresses. Almost all apps restored perfectly but everytime i try to play a song in the Music app, i asks me for a Apple-ID i had no idea i have used.
Hence:
I lost my password for my original iTunes account
I can't recover it because the email address it is registered under is not longer valid
How can I access my old account?
Can't find a place to change the email address to my new one without the password which I no longer remember.
There is no way to just erase Apple-ID's on my device either.
What to do? Should i ju give up and start from scratch and delete 2 years of stuf?

If you can remember the answers to the security questions when you set up that account - I think that you can reset the password without needing email authentication. You can try it here. Read it and see if it's possible. But if you can't remember the answers to the questions it will not work.

1. I tried connecting it to itunes for a system reset and it didnt work.
2. The phone wont even turn on!!!

If the phone wont turn on it sounds like it needs to be charged. Plug it into a charger and wait about 15 minutes and try turning it on while still charging. Have you tried holding in your home button with the on/off button held in? Hold them both together until the apple logo comes up and then release them. The screen will blink off an on while it is resetting. I still think this is a battery issue. Good luck~

Are you particularly attached to your ex-MobileMe email address? - it sounds as if you haven't actually used it for very long time. Your easiest option would be to use the ID you have logged in with here to open an iCloud account and choose a new @icloud.com address.
If you really want to reactivate the MobileMe email address (which is also the ID for that account) you will need to contact Support. Go to https://expresslane.apple.com ; select 'All Products and Services' in the first column, 'More Products and Services' in the second column, then 'Apple ID' in the third column. You will wait for the rest of your life. You need to fix it; no one else will. To turn off "Find my iPhone" and its associated Activation Lock you need the Apple ID and password that were used to turn it on. If you know the Apple ID you can contact Apple Account Security and have them reset the password (after you prove you are the rightful owner of that Apple ID). see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699.

Sounds like you have multiple Apple IDs, which causes a myriad of issues. Go here to straighten it out. Be forewarned that it's a pain.

First go to iPhoto's Accounts preference pane and delete the email account that's there. Close iPhoto, reopen and add your email account to the Accounts preference pane and try again.
Next, and IMO the better solution, set Mail are the email client for iPhoto in iPhoto's General preference pane:
This gives you better access to your contacts, a sent copy and, if you need a layout like iPhoto gives you, similar layouts in iPhoto's stationary option.

If you acquired content with the old Apple ID, you also forfeit the content. Content is forever associated with the Apple ID that bought it. Apple does not transfer content from one ID to another nor does Apple merge IDs. It would be best to reacquire use of the ID than to abandon it if you have content because that is the only ID that can redownload the content or update it. Call Apple Care for your country and ask for the Account Security Team, then request help resetting the password for the account.
Otherwise, if none of that matters, just abandon the ID and everything associated with it, delete everything from your devices and libraries. Then create a new Apple ID and start over.
