Help I Have Got Msi Kt4 V Motherboard With Qtec 550 Dual Fan

HAVING RECIENTLY READ THE THREADS POSTED BY MEMBERS OF THE FORUM I HAVE GATHERED THE PROBLEM WITH MY SYSTEM IS MY QTEC POWER SUPPLY!!!!!
I RECENTLY BUILD MY PC HERE IS MY SPECS
MSI KT4V M/B
ASUS TI4200 GRAPHICS
ONBOARD SOUND AND LAN
80 GIG MAXTOR HARDDRIVE
THERMAL TAKE VOLCANE 9 HEATSINK
AMD ATHLON 2.6 MHZ BARTON CHIP
PLUS THE UNREALIBLE QTEC 550W DUAL FAN
WITH THIS SETUP I CANNOT RUN MY CHIP AT ITS FULL POTENTUAL BECAUSE EVERY TIME I PUT IT TO A FSB OF 166 IN THE BIOS I GET A SHUT DOWN AND A SIREN STARTS TO SOUND!!!! WHICH I PRESUME IT IS TO DO WITH MY P/SUPPLY HAVING READ ALL THE REPLIES IN THE FORUM ABOUT QTEC 550 W GOLD DUAL FAN! AT THE MINUTE I AM RUNNING MY CHIP AT FSB OF 133 WHICH IS WORKING FINE NO SIRENS OR SHUT DOWN I HAV ALSO GOT TO FLASH MY BIOS TO THE NEWEST ONES AVALIBLE BUT BEFORE DOING SO I WAS JUST WONDERING WHAT POWER SUPPLY PEOPLE RECOMEND FOR MY SETUP!!

AMD Phenom II X4 940 3.0 GHZ that I have over clocked to (17.5) 3.4Ghz
However anytime I go over that to say multiplyer set to 18 (3.5 ghz) it still runs but crashes when running high end games. I know I have to go in an adjust voltages. However, in the cell menu I can't access the CPU voltage areas I hit enter but nothing happens. It tells me Grey is defualt, White is stable and red is the obvious not recommended setting, but again I can't access it. Is there something I need to disable before I mess with the voltages?
I know that doing any of this could fry the chip I have liquid cooling pretty much this idles at 28 deg Celcuis, that is with it over clocked so I know I have som room and know I should only up the vltage slightly. I just need to know how to do it.
I also wanted to adjust the FSB from the current 200 to 270 which I was told is possible with this board and also that is where it should run stable. Again I just need to know how to access these things in the Bios. If its a bios issue I can update to the next one,1.9, but did not see the need to do so. Anyways any help is greatly appreciated. I am familar with overclocking just not with this motherboard. Any user who uses MSI who could offer assitance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The problem is, this card was only intended to ever be used on that motherboard. It may work in single GPU mode on other boards, but results will vary on other SLI boards.
This line is from the referenced article. It seems to imply that card is intended to be used with the Gigabyte board.

Help, I have got an odd thing come up on my IPod

Please can you help, this morning I downloaded the lastest version of ITunes, and now my I Pod wont work.
All it comes up with is a picture of what looks like a plug socket (kind of) and a plug ???
Anyone have any ideas please

Is this the icon you see?
When updating or restoring some iPods via a usb connection, it needs to be plugged into power via the charger to complete the process, and this is why you see that icon displayed. It's also why older iPods that required this step were supplied with a power adaptor as standard.
You may be able to complete the process via a car charger, or via a powered firewire port on the computer (with the required 6 pin cable of course) if you have access to either of those. Or maybe visit an Apple store if one is nearby.

MSI 770-C45 motherboard with DDR3 PC10660 memory?

I have some difficulties with my new computer which have abovesaid components. Windows 7 is not installing properly, it freezes up before finishing. Installing disk has been tested before. Is PNY 2x2 Gb DDR3 1333 MHz PC10660 memory compatible with 770-C45? At least it is not mentioned in this list: http://www.msi.com/uploads/test_report/TR10_1812.pdf there is only PC11000 in 1333 MHz-category. What is the difference in PC10660 and PC11000 anyway?

Yes you can run PC10666 ram in this motherboard, thats what I'm using, did you set the timings and voltage in bios?

HT4101 my camera says check connected device. USB device uses too much power. I have got the photos on before with persistence but this is not working

Is the USB drive you are trying to connect a USB thumb drive or a USB hard drive?
I have 4 USB thumb drives - an old one at 250MB, newer ones at 1GB and 4GB, and a new one at 8GB. All work in the camera connection kit except the 250MB (requires too much power). Suggest you get a new USB drive.
Use your camera's SD card.
Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov; DSCN0164.jpg).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import. (You can not export using the camera connection kit.)

Presuming only web/similar use, you may Save a Copy (or Save As, but this may give some danger of ruining your AI document) as PDF as follows:
1) Use the setting Smallest File Size under General (this will give you RGB);
2) Set the desired raster image resolution(s) under Compression (you may also just use Do Not Downsample).
The (lack of) compression is crucial to the file size, of course.

MSI NEO2 Platinum, problem with mouse Genius PS2 optical

Hello,
I have a MSI NEO2 Platinum motherboard with a mouse Genius optical PS2. When the S.O. init the mouse is not detected, I unplug and plug again the PS2 port and the mouse work perfectly ! ... The mouse is working perfectly, I test it in another PC, the problem is the motherboard !
The same situation is on Windows XP Professional and Linux Ubuntu 5.10.
Please help me, thanks for your attention !

Raúl,
The PS2 slot is NOT a hot plug! If you remove and reinstall it while there is power to the mobo you stand a very good chance of destroying the PS2 Slot.

Is it possible to run an AMD Athlon XP 3200+ on the MSI KT4 Ultra Motherboard?
I know the motherboard supports FSB200/266/333, but will the cpu work if I manually set it to FSB400 in the bios?

I don't think the cpu is unlocked, it is an original 3200+.
I thought you need an unlocked cpu if you want to overclock the cpu.
I just want to leave the multiplier on auto and set the frequency to 200MHz (its original setting).
The reason I need to know is that I stupidly bought the cpu without checking my motherboard FSB support and I cant return the cpu.
I have not received it yet and wanted to know if it was possible to get my computer up and running even if the KT4 Ultra does not officially support FSB400.
Would there be any harm in trying the cpu in my motherboard.
If anyone has managed to run an AMD XP3200+ cpu on a MSI KT4 Ultra, please let me know.

I own a msi kt4 ultra motherboard, 512 Mo Ram Twinmos PC3200 and an athlon xp1700+@2012 MHz (175*11.5)
One day, I managed to boot at 194*10.5 but now, it is very instable with any fsb > 180. Where is the pb ? Is it due to the PCI or the AGP ? (because the coef is still 1/5 nd not 1/6 ?)
Is it very impossible to succesfully boot at 200MHz with a KT4 Ultra ?

I manage to boot with my ram at cas 2-3-2-6-2Ways but not 2-2-3 or 2-2-2
It is very strange that I can put the RAS precharge at 2 clocks but not the RAS to CAS

Works: MSI Z77MA-G45 Motherboard

Just dropping a note to say that the MSI Z77MA-G45 motherboard with UEFI works perfectly under Arch. Initial installation was a little bit painful because I was installing from a USB drive that was not booted in UEFI mode. By following this guide and the installation guide, I managed to install refind, which got me into Arch, then I just repeated the GRUB2 installation steps to complete my install.
Systemd is a little weird and will definitely take some time to get used to, but I really like the new 100% manual installation method, along with the improved Arch bootstrapping and chroot'ing scripts. Very happy to see that this is still the same (but better!) distro that I used 6 years ago.

Using it along an AMD card is quite useless and therefor results maybe wrong. Try the 210 alone in the other slot. Also please list system specs: >>Posting Guide<<
