Help! i have lost the panther software installation DVD 1 of 2!

Hi, i have lost the software install and restore disc, the 1 of 2, an i new to do a clean install of it? what can i do? can someone help me!?

    If you registered with Adobe, your authorization number will be in your account on Adobe's website. Then you can use their downloads page and download CS5 and install it. A search on their main page will get you to the download page.

    Hi, Alejandra. You'll have to buy another installer disc set — there's no way you can reinstall without the necessary discs. Upgrading to Leopard as Simon suggests is certainly one option, but if you aren't sure all your other software is Leopard-compatible, it may not be the best option for your present circumstances. Whichever OS version you choose to buy — and unfortunately I'm completely unfamiliar with sources in Mexico — be sure to buy only a retail installer set. The discs that are shipped with Macs are specific to the model they were shipped with, and won't work on other models. They are grey; retail disks are black.
    In the USA, Apple stocks and sells replacements for the original model-specific discs that were shipped with many recent Mac models, possibly including your Powerbook. But I don't think Apple USA can or will send them to Mexico, and I don't know whether the same replacement service is available there. You might be able to find out by calling the phone number for support in Mexico on this page:

    I understand you no longer have the installation disk for your Photosmart C4580, and that is okay!

    Also, if you cannot print your email after installing the printer, try printing from another web browser and that might help!

    You're running an old version of Safari. Before troubleshooting, try updating it to the latest version: 6.0. You can do this by clicking the Apple logo in the top left, then clicking Software update.
    You can also update to the latest version of OS X, 10.8 Mountain Lion, from the Mac App Store for $19.99, which will automatically install Safari 6 as well, but this isn't essential, only reccomended.

  • Dropped my Ipod, I have put it in Disk Mode, I have downloaded the new software, tried to restore it and it has seized please help?

    I dropped my Ipod (4TH Generation Ipod Nano) I have got it start up again I have put it in disk mode and connected it to Itunes,
    I have downloaded the new software through Itunes, that went well, it came up as normal.
    I have got it to restore to factory settings. (Although before hand it synced and all that)
    During this process it has seized and not done what it was suppose to, only displaying the Apple Symbol.
    I disconnected, and it has gone flat and now is telling me to connect it to power, when I do so nothing happens.
    It won't connect to itunes.
    Please help.

Check each section starting from the top of the list to see if that is what's keeping your iPod from appearing.

    You've lost me on why you need to reinstall Tiger, when you already have all the files you wanted (which means Tiger worked perfectly fine). If you want to upgrade to Leopard, that's a different issue: your Mac needs to meet the minimum system requirements for that, which you can easily determine.
    If you just want to get a replacement set of Tiger install discs, you can try calling AppleCare and see if they're able to send you a replacement set, and if not, you'll have to buy a new set yourself. You can get them on eBay, Craigslist, and HardCore Mac (http://store.yahoo.com/hardcoremac/), although they sell it for ridiculous prices.

  • Need to reinstall OS X but have lost the restore discs--please help!!

    Hi. I just upgraded to a new macbook. My previous computer is a G4 iBook which I want to wipe clean and re-install the OS so I can sell it. The trouble is, in the 3 or 4 times I have moved apartments since getting the iBook I have lost the discs that came with it.
    From what I've read I can't use the discs that came with my macbook as those are for an Intel system. Can anyone help? I have an external USB 2.0 hard drive, but don't know much about partitions and boot volumes, etc.

    Depending on which iBook you have, your only option may be the iBook G4 restore discs.
    Some iBook G4s shipped with OS 10.4+ so they won't boot from a retail version of OS 10.4.
    You can contact Apple and get replacement discs... for a fee.

    Try a hard reset:- hold the home button AND the power switch - ignore the red "Slide to power off" and wait ubntil the iPhone powers down, and then restarts - at the Apple logo, release all the buttons and see if your contacts reappear.

    Your Downloads folder should be in your Home folder. Just drag it to the Dock.
    If you've managed to delete it, try creating a new folder called 'Downloads'. You will probably need to nominate it in Safari or any other browser preferences as your download destination. (Safari Preferences>General, 'Save downloaded items to:' menu)
