HELP - I haven`t a clue!!!

I`m sitting here in Norway, reading discussions ALL day now, trying out all suggestions that seem to be minutely related to my problem - without any results - so now I have created an account and hope to find some help.....
This is driving me nuts! When I start my mac, everything seems ok and for about 15 minutes it is - then everything starts acting wierd.. When I point to a menu, be it in Finder or an application or internet, it drops down then immediately disappears. I can`t choose anything and can`t open any folders or programs! When I click in the internet f.eks to activate another menu or button, it downloads the page - I have no left click functionality. When I try to write in the internett address field it "bounces" in the neverending. What happened?
I`ve run Disk Utility several times to repair. I`ve updated my security update to the latest. I`ve run MacJanitor nad tried to install Applejack (without luck). I`m at my wits end! Does anybody have a suggestion? I`m grateful for any little tidbit of direction!!

I had troubles yesterday, same as yours I guess. Under Safari, I could not select any menu or hyperlinks with my mouse (Logitech MX1000). It was same troubles with the Dock and the menu.
I tried ToolsX3 to run maintenance scripts and all works fine after that.

You're asking about a counter table, that is, a result set (that you can use like a table) that has all possible values in a range: in this case, all the integers between g_start and g_end.
In Oracle 9 (and up) you can generate such a counter table using CONNECT BY.
The query below does what you want for all rows in table_x:

I'm sorry to bother you with such stupid questions. I have to admit I'm just making my first steps in programming.
So I have a program like this and don't understand how it works:

Specifically, how could 0xf1 be represented in binary? As far as I know 11110001 contains negative value. Moreover 0xf1 in 10's base is 241, so how can I convert it to byte? Doin so, I'm gonna lose its value (since the byte range is from -128 to 127). And why do I need it? I even have no idea how the variable would look like in binary after converting to byte, not mentioning last part of this program.
I would really appreaciate your help.

-Turn your iPod on, and you can scroll through the main menu (this is right after you select your language) and find "settings". That's where you can adjust the volume limit, the clicker noises, etc.
-You recieved a connector cable with your iPod in it's case. The wider end connects into the bottom of the iPod (right next to where the earphones plug in). The other connects into the computer tower. (There's a symbol on the end of the cable that should match up to one on your computer. Mine's right under my mouse plug in...)
-Come back to this website, click on iPod + iTunes. You'll have to go through the process of downloading iTunes (it's step-by-step there, too). It may take a while (mine took around an hour and a half).
-iTunes should pop up on your desktop, and click into it. it should have, from top to bottom: Library: music, movies, tv shows, podcasts, radios. Store: (you may not have this on there yet unless you've already signed into the store part of it); ___'s Ipod, and it show a list of playlists after that, like On-the-go1 or Most played. [[You can delete these by right clicking or selecting them and going up to edit.)
-Now you can put songs onto your iPod:
Download them from the iTunes store or by CD.It should pop up in your general MUSIC area first (under Library), or under RECENTLY ADDED (under Playlists).
-Make a playlist by clicking on file and scrolling down. You can name it whatever you want. To add songs to a playlist click and drag them. To put a playlist to your iPod, click and drag.
-Update your iPod by going and clicking on __'s ipod. It will have a button on the summary page saying "Update." Click it, and it should transfer all the songs and playlists you've made onto your iPod. [[The bar across the bottom shows you how much space you have used up, and how much you have left, as well as how many songs you have on there, etc.)
I think thats it:) Oh! And if you put songs over from a CD sometimes it doesn't recognize the cd, meaning it won't have the song title or artist. If that's the case it's usually a good idea to put the cd in a playlist by itself, and name the playlist the band's name, or something;)

How do I tell photoshop to stop opening the same document every time I start Photoshop CS6?

Each and every time I start up Photoshop CS6 (running the latest version I think....13.0.1 x64) on my Mac Running 10.7.5
the same document opens up. As if it thinks it crashed and needs to recover it. Im a member of Creative Cloud in case that matters.
I have saved the document and closed it properly and yet - it returns every time I start up the program. Can anyone help?

Equium A210-1C4: Winload.exe problem after using product recovery disk

I Could really do with some help here. I have a Toshiba Equium A210-1C4 Laptop. Partitioned drive with Vista home premium service pack 4.0.
Last night I used the product recovery disk supllied with the laptop to try and restore it back to its factory settings.
and the end of the process I'm left with a cmd prompt box with X:\windows\system32\cmd.exe in the blue top bit stating:
Error: imageX could not apply vista F:\05993xsp.swm Index 2 from ODD to C:\!
Press any key to continue. That box dissappears then another one with Administrator: X:\windows\system32\cmd.exe in the blue top bit stating:
waiting for ODD to become available...
ODD Drive F: ready.
check for medium in drive F:...
Failed to initialise the raid class.
No RAID - continue normally...
X:\windows\system32>
Now whenever the laptop tries to restart it just comes up with the error message:
WINDOWS FAILED TO START. A RECENT HARDWARE OR SOFTWARE CHANGE MIGHT BE THE
CAUSE
FILE: \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\WINLOAD.EXE
STATUS: 0XC000000E
INFO: THE SELECTED ENTRY COULD NOT BE LOADED BECAUSE THE APPLICATION

Below I then have the option to esc or continue both with the same outcome of system trying to restart.
The recovery disk has no repair option on it.

It looks like something went wrong during the Recovery procedure.
Did you try to recover the notebook once again?
If not you should definitely try this!
You are right; the recovery disk hasnt a option for repair because the recovery disk is not the same like a MS Vista disk. The Recovery disk contains the image files (its a package) and the files contains the Vista, Toshiba drivers, tools and additional software.
Therefore if something went wring during the recovery procedure, you will be not able to repair the OS installation but you have to run it again.

Appleworks in trash???

Help, I haven't a clue... I want to print business cards, but Finder tells me Appleworks is in the trash. I can't find it in there, so I can't drag it out. I downloaded the update 6.2.9, but am informed can't be installed. I don't recall ever using Appleworks before. Can anyone help?

Welcome to Apple Discussions and the AppleWorks forum.
If your iMac is a pre-intel model, AppleWorks was included in the bundled software, and may be reinstalled from the system install disk(s) that came with your computer. If yours is an intel based iMac, you will not have AppleWorks unless you bought a separate boxed retail version.
Try using Spotlight to search for 'AppleWorks 6' (without the quotes). If AW is on your hard drive, that should give you its location, if indeed it's there. Once found, you can drag it (and the AppleWorks 6 folder containing it and other essential files and folders) to the Applications folder.

A 3rd gen iPod touch can run up to iOS 5.1.1. If the apps you need require a later version of iOS, you will need a newer iPod touch.
The 4th gen model, which is still available on Apple Store's refurb ("Special Deals") page can run up to iOS 6.1.3. The current 5th gen model can run the current iOS 7.x.

My name and/or password are not working on start up page. Got given used macbook pro and new to apple so please help!

My brother gave me his macbook pro and I'm having trouble getting past the start up page that asks for my my name and password. I have an apple id and password but these don't work nor does me typing my actual name and the same password. I've rung apple twice and the first person said I had to reset my uusername account and told me I could do so by visiting the support part of the apple website using the link he gave me. The information tells me how to do this but I have to have the computer up and running to reset/change the account username and password. So no joy. Second time I spoke with a lady who told me the name and password should be the same as the one my brother used when he had the computer but having entered the name and password he gave me it still doesn't work. I've tried all the different name types of my name e.g. full name, no spaces, capitals and no capitals etc but every time I click on the right pointing arrow thing or press the enter button the password does a quiver/shake thing and nothing happens. My bro says he has a relatively new lion operating system. I haven't a clue what to do as I'm new to using apple computers and I've spent ages looking through the support section with no success in finding the solution. Any help/advise would be much appreciated. Ta

Resetting User Password in Lion and Mountain Lion
Boot into your Recovery Partition by holding down the Command and R keys whilst booting.
When the Recovery screen appears, go to the Utilities menu and open Terminal.
In Terminal, type:
resetpassword
...a small app will open and allow you to choose the user for whom you want to change the password. If you are the admin, be certain that you choose your admin user. Type in your new password twice and give yourself a good hint. Click OK (or Done or whatever) and reboot, enjoying the use of your new, hopefully memorable, password.

Please help! Safari 4.1 won't work at all!

I'm close to tears, so would be hugely grateful to anyone that could help me here....
I think that a couple of weeks ago i had a software updater thing and updated my software. I haven't used my MacBook Pro (OS X V10.4.11) since, but tried to today.
I launched safari (Version 4.1) from my dock, and it does the little wiggle thing, with the arrow under icon, but no web page, or indeed any window appeared. I've restarted computer several times and still nothing. I've gone into Bookmarks and tried loading a page, but a blank window opens (grey) and then I get a crash message. This happens exactly the same if i try to load a webpage from an email (mail still works).
I've copied the problem report below, and really really hope someone can help. I've no clue what has happened, and am not very familiar at all with computers, so if someone could explain how I can get it fixed in laymans terms I'd honestly be forever indebted.

I am having the same issue and tried to locate the same Conduit/Plugins/cttoolbar.bundle/Contents/MacOS/ct_plugins file on my HD but nothing. If you can help me with solving this issue as well I would be very grateful!
