Help! I lost all my movies, music, and apps
My computer shot down a couple of times, so I went to have it repaired. The technician needed to reboot the whole system so he save my movies, t.v. shows, apps, music and all on another harddrive. While he was at it I requested to have him installed the new window version Windows 7 Professionnel. Since that awful idea of mine, not only can I not watched or have acces to my movies, t.v. shows, music etc. now the system is telling me there is an incompatibility with windows and Itune, but before this I upgraded Itunes to version 10.06 something, so now the movies that I download work alright they just don't have sound anymore. I can listen and play with my games and all and the sound is fantastic but I soon as I use Itunes, I hear silence and it freezes all the time. I am ****** at Itunes for not being able to help me out, everytime I tried to have contact with a technician I also hear silence, ain't that a kick in the butt. So can anyone out there help me, I have tried many things suggested by people that had the same problem but to no vail, nothing works. I am also wondering about my 300 movies and 400 songs that I have paid for, what will Itunes do to help me out? I jhave Windows 7 Professionnal and I am not using a Mac
Thank you for all your help,
R. S. MoMo
I have read a lot of suggestions concerning my problem, the thing is I don't have the option of Re-downloading and in the file menu when I get my library options I don't even have the option of backing up my movie, music, apps, and I don'tt have the Purchased option under my quick links for some unknown reason. Open itunes store Click "Purchased" under "Quick Links", simply does not work for me. I certainly would like to contact itunes support who would kindly granted me a one time re-download of my purchased music. But then don't answer my cry for help, so again I am stuck with nothing after I bought over 1000.00 dollars worth of movies, music, apps and I don' t have acces to any of it. Thank you Apple for making me feel like a valued customer,
Thank you all for your help but it just doesn't work 4 me!

i was on windows 7 and i had to format my computer i put windows vista on and when i downloaded itunes and sync my iphone i lost all my photos music and apps that was on my phone,my itunes account says i have got to accounts on two computers?? is there anyway i can get anything back? please help me. i have tried restore to back up but it is the same????
If they really meant that much to you, they would have been copied off to a computer at the earliest possible opportunity.
I personally find it amazing that people get so upset when pictures "accidentally" get deleted and then scream about how important they are. You wouldn't leave important paper work lying around to be lost/damaged/stolen, so why take a chance with important pictures on a device that can so easily be lost/damaged/stolen, or deleted by a child. -
I installed iTuned 10.5 and downloaded 5.0 os and now lost all of my music and photos
I jsut installed 5.0OS on my iPhone 4 and lost all of my music and photos on my phone and my computer. It appears to all have been deleted. Help.

My daughter is currently using my Apple ID with her ipod touch. I will be upgrading her to an iPhone 4S and would like to use a different Apple ID and a new computer and still keep all the current music and Apps that she has now. How do I do this?
Make a new Apple ID for her.
Use it on her iPhone 4S for iCloud, iMessage and FaceTime.
Use your ID on her iPhone 4S for iTunes and App Stores.
Sign in with your Apple ID on iTunes Store (on iTunes app of her new computer)
Authorize her new computer with your Apple ID in iTunes (iTunes menu>Store>Authorize this Computer)
Check "Share my Library on my Local Network" in iTunes Preferences in your and her computer
Sign in Home Sharing of her iTunes with your Apple ID.
Copy all the Music she wants from the old computer to the new one. (Must be on the same network)
Copy all the apps she wants from the old computer to the new one. (Must be on the same network)
Export all playlist as xml files from the old computer to the new one.(right click on the playlist to export and "File>Library>Import Playlist to Import)
Sync her iPhone 4S with all content she wants from her new computer (all data from the old computer will be deleted)
Are you sharing Contacts or other data from iCloud?
Be careful or ask for help about moving from iCloud account to another one. -
I have an iPad 3 with 64 GB of storage. I am out of space, but when I add up my movies music and apps, my usage isn't even close to 64GB. I used to have about a dozen movies. One day they were just gone and couldn't sync back on. I used to think it was a syncing problem, but it is storage. I have done a hard restart. I have deleted some junk from "memory". I have tried to "clean up" my iPad, but I am missing a ton of space. Is there a trash can that I need to empty? Are my movies still stored but inaccessible? I have read forum posts about an "other" category in stoarge which I don't see on my iPad. Not sure what else to try.
Connect the iPod to your computer and look at the storage used by the various categories as shown in the colored bargarph in iTunes.
An "other" larger than aboutn 1 1/2 GB usually indicates that the "other" includes corrupted files. Usually restoring from backup eliminated the corrupted files. However, sometimes restoring to factory settings/new iPod is required.
To restore from backup see:

I had an old ipod touch. I got a new one. I still have all of the music and apps on my itunes but I cannot sync it to my new ipod.
Are you sure you have iTunes set up to synch to your new iPod? The reason I ask is that by default, iTunes will not automatically synch to a new device. You have to go to the Apps tab and click Synch Apps, and do the same for Music, PodCasts, and so on....

The laptop I originally synch'd my iphone 4s with is broken and cannot retrieve any files. How can I sync the phone with a new laptop without losing all my downloaded music and apps already installed on my iphone?
If the answer to the above question is "yes", FIRST, set up a backup of your new computer before you do anything else so the next time your computer breaks you will not be in the same situation. Backup solutions are numerous and inexpensive, and there is absolutely no excuse in the Third Millennium not to have one.

How do I get all of my music and apps from my iPhone on to my new iPad ?
How do I get all of my music and apps from my iPhone on to my new iPad
For the items you mention you sync them both to the same iTunes library which acts as master archive and source for all your mobile devices.

I upgraded my iphone and all of my music and apps dissapeared. They show up as purchased but I am not able to put them back on my phone. What should I do?
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

My friend just got back her stolen ipad...she says that she purchased all of her music and apps through the apple store. Will she be able to get back any of the content she has paid for?
If for some reason she has failed to maintain a backup copy, not good, then she can redownload some purchases in some countries:

now all of my music and apps are missing from my phone and my computer! *** do I do?, I just updated and synced my phone and now all of my music and apps are missing from my phone and my computer! *** do I do?
i had the same fright
The update takes a LONG time... but with the new system, you can keep using your phone during the update, so it doesnt FEEL like it is updating...
you have probably interrupted the update, just like I did
plug your phone in... "continue the update" or hit the sync button to psh it in... and leave it there
unless you have enabled sync over wifi (which still only works when you are plugged in)
just be patient... and there shouldbe a flashing "synching" symbol at the top of your phone screen -
What I need help with is in the question. Kids are old enough to have separate ids. I want to ensure that I can create them and then associate their music and apps to the right accounts.
As Allan posted you cannot transfer Apps and Music to a different Apple ID. Here's what I would do...
Use separate Apple ID's for iCloud, iMessage and FaceTime. These services are separate from iTunes.
Create a new Apple ID > https://appleid.apple.com/cgi-bin/WebObjects/MyAppleId.woa/ -- Note: You need a verified email address
On the device(s) go:
Settings > iCloud > (Scroll Down) Delete Account > Sign in with the new Apple ID -- Note: This only affects the device
Settings > Messages > Send and Received > Apple ID > Sign Out > Sign in with the new Apple ID
Settings > FaceTime > Apple ID > Sign Out > Sign in with the new Apple ID
This will separate your iCloud content (i.e. Contacts, Notes, Reminders etc.), Messages and FaceTime.
You all can continue to use the same Apple ID for iTunes and share the already purchased Apps, Music and Movies
If you decide that's not acceptable go:
Settings > iTunes and App Store > Apple ID > Sign out > Sign in with the new Apple ID -- Note: We covered the transfer of content part.
Hopefully that will put you on the right path to sort out the issue. -
I want to use my husband's contact number on his iPad so that we can iMessage and especially FaceTime, but we share the same Apple ID. This works fine on our phones, why can't we have the option to use his contact number on his iPad the same way? This iPad can only be used with WiFi (contrary to what we were told upon purchasing it...). Anyone have any helpful advice??
This is not an area where I have any expertise, but you may want to consider using separate Apple IDs and using the recently released Family Sharing capabilities which still allow you to share your music and apps.

Last night I decided that I would go and update my ipod for the first time to the latest version of the system. I completely forgot that I still had not backed up any of my purchased music and apps and of course when the update was finished, I found that all my music and apps had been erased. Is there anyway I can get my music and apps back.
