HELP I'm away at college for the first time and missing my family...

Hi Everyone. I just moved out of state for college, and I need a way to communicate with my sister back home. My sister is on a HP s3300f with an AMD athlon 64x2 duel core processor 5000+ and her RAM is 2.0 GB and a 32 bit operating system. I am using the new MacBook. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I know that I have a webcam built into my computer but I need something that will be compatible with her computer. Also if anyone is in the same situation as myself I would love to hear some ways to stay close to my Family through the computer. Thank you so much.

Hope i can help you out with a suggestion, Since your sister is using a PC i would thoroughly recommend Skype to use between the two. Skype is a great video chat program, i use it regularly to chat to my Windows PC friends and can honestly say that it even out performs the likes of MSN messenger. It goes without saying that your family and friends will also have to Download and install it to communicate with you but as i said before its a simple process. There are other programs out there that allow you to chat via MSN but ive had stability issues with them so im not even gonna recommend them to you. If however you would like to install MSN messenger it is also available for mac but it does not support video chat, merely IM.Download it here:

Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for at least 10 sec, until the Apple logo comes back.

Did you by chance have photo stream turned on? If so then they might be there. When you restored your phone it deleted everything and they will be unretreivable from your computer.

You don't.
You synced your iPhone with iTunes for the first time after how long?
And this didn't happen by syncing only. This means you transferred the backup for another iPhone or you restored the iPhone with iTunes. It is not possible for everything to be lost by syncing alone. All iTunes content on your iPhone can be lost but not any photos in the Camera Roll and the same for contacts unless you synced contacts with an empty address book application on your computer.

I am running this on a Duo Core processor, Intel, Laptop, Windows 7 with 4-gigs of ram. I have never had a problem with other programs crashing like this before.

You mean out of this whole community no one knows how to fix this ... I wanted to give Firefox a try, but honestly, I am starting to see why I have not switched from IE, it is stable and I get answers when I post to the Microsoft boards as well as the answer to everything I have ever had an issue with is out there ... what is worse is that I am not the only one with this problem and no one can still help because I am sure us five are not the only ones that have run into this.

It should keep asking for the password, because it's trying to check for purchases... As soon as you login, it will see you have pending downloads and create the downloads section on the left below Purchases under the Store section. Then it will start the music downloads there, as they will be listed one below the other.
You could just try to check your account balance or view your account and that will trigger a password request too. You can just click on that and say that now iTunes keeps asking for the password and ask him to help you with that. Trick would be to interrupt him so that he carries on with another task after, so he doesn't notice the download. Or you carry on with email or browsing which you were "busy" with when iTunes interrupted you for the password (stupid iTunes)

I have tried to clear out the iMessage settings I had put in, and I've tried to adjust the Accounts to not include notes to synch. But, Notes will not stop. It opens a new note, and even if you ignore it, it assumes preference every 5 seconds, and the Mac is impossible to use.

Do you have any Boot Camp or other secondary partitions set up on your system? If so then try running a disk verification routine (chkdsk, etc.) in Windows to repair the disk. While I've not heard of it happening recently, in the past errors in these partitions have resulted in stubborn ghost files appearing in OS X.
