I recently updated my mega view 563 and I think I updated it with the wrong software...
and now my mega view dosn't work at all. all i can see is a black screen and I can hear is the msi's opening speech "It's my Style... my Style and I"*2 and it stays black. the battery is fine... and the hardware is also fine (it's only 2 days old...)
so if someone can help ASAP i'll really appreciate it...

I got mine (2 weeks ago) 64GB WiFi+3G (Verizon) from the apple store online
I didnt have to do anything to it, turned it on, activated it, got it on my home network then I signed up for the 3G data service, it works where ever I happen to be. (if there is an unknown WiFi connection available it asks me if I want to join before it continues to connect to the 3G when I am surfing or getting e-mail)
do you have an Apple Store close enough to travel to?
I am only assuming here, but since you have a SIM you are not in the US correct?

ITunes fails to launch; Mac Book Pro; Mac OS X 10.6.8;Tried everything so far; NOTHING WORKS. Help!! Desperate!

I'm on a Mac OS X 10.6.8 and all of a sudden one day my iTunes failed to launch. The problem has persisted for months now--I've tried reinstalling, updating all software, removing all music files (which I backed up), I tried Safe Launching it--NOTHING WORKS. Help!! I'm Desperate!
I was existing with my iPhone which is my main music player anyway--and I lost it in a cab yesterday! I need to sync everything (thanks to iCloud most of it is taken care of contacts and calendar wise) and I'm sort of losing hope that this issue can be resolved with the iTunes...
Anyone ever experience this?
Any help is so greatly appreciated!

Actually the drive might be working fine and there could be a Mac hardware, boot sector malware or cable issue at fault, that can't be determined until the drive is removed from the Mac and a SATA to USB adapter cable used to another Mac, PC or Linux machine.
Even if the file structure is defective there is Data Rescue type software that can read the 1's and 0's of unencrypted data directly off the drive.
If your data is really valuable and worth more than a few thousand dollars, there is Drive Savers which will physically dissect the drive and read the platters directly if the above method fails.
Is it possible.. if I take out the HDD and connect it to some other PC as standby and copy data.. may be its booting section got damaged and it cant boot but it may detect and allow me to copy my data when standby?
Yes it is possible, a piece of software called MacDrive can be installed on the Windows PC and used to read the HFS+ format of the Mac boot drive.
Linux also will read HFS+ format and also fix a lot of problems with drives to get them working.
I suggest you take your Mac to a Linux level geek first to do a hardware evaluation of the drive, a passive image of the drive if it's working so you can later use Data Rescue (no encryption/Filevault) yourself as it takes hours.
If the drive isn't working physically, then consider Drive Savers if you want to part with a few thousand and the drive is not encrypted/Filevaulted.
Forget Apple and many of their type repair shops, they usually don't/won't/can't take the time and just replace your drive and tell you tough luck you should have backed up.

As i said up there , i have lost my ipod touch 5th generation today. worst day ever. im 14 and i paid for it with my own money. $317!! i was so proud of myself. so i went to the mall and i put it in a bag and got home and went to the park behind my friend's house. now im not sure if i brought it with me to the park (dont think so) or it fell in my friend's room after i came home from the mall. but i seriously can not find it and im REALLY sad. i have been balling my eyes out throughout the whole day and me and my five friends including my parents and my friends mom have been looking for it. i heard something about telling the police or something and they would help?? i'm not sure about that. cause why would they wanna help a 14 year old girl find an ipod touch when theres other very important matters. - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.

Router suddenly no longer works with my iMAC. Please help, I'm desperate.

SSIA, pretty much. One day, after a few years of working fine, my Linksys BEFSR41 Vers. 3 router just stopped working with my iMac. I've dtermined through process of elimination that it is indeed the router since I can access the internet by plugging the cable modem directly into my Mac and thus can write this to you guys now. I tried just hooking up the Mac and the router directly and trying to access it through the http://192.168.1.1 address. Didn't work. So I thought the router just crapped out for some reason. Then I went out and bought a brand new Linksys BEFSR41 Vers. 3 router. Considering I had no problem with the first one for a few years it seemed reasonable. Now that one won't work either. Although I can access it via the 192.168.1.1 address. However once I do that, I no idea what to do. I tried to upgrade firmware and that was only supposed to "take a few minutes" but it said that for 3 hours so I stopped it. The thing is, with the first router I didn't need to do a thing. All I had to do was plug it in and it worked beautifully with my iMac and TiVo. Maybe something in my iMac wigged out and that why it won't work with these things anymore. I don't know. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I can do to get my iMac and TiVo back online again via this router? I truly appreciate any help and the patience it must've taken you to get this far in reading long post.

Oh my God thank you so much. I spent the last week trying to figure this **** thing out and that's all it took. Sometimes the most simple explanation is all that's required but last looked at. Thank you for pointing out the obvious. I kinda wish Linksys would've pointed that out to me when I exchanged a total of 25 e-mails with them. Oh well. Thank you again. I am so grateful.

Ipod nano wont turn on!!! Please help I'am desperate! :(

By mistake, i dropped my ipod on the floor and seconds later i tried turning it on and it wont turn on at all. I tried restoring it by pressing the menu and select button and i toggeled with the hold button for several minutes. I got this ipod a year ago ,but my 1 year apple warrenty just expired and the "apple operator" led me to this discussions web site. The screen is not cracked or chipped,but it simply wont turn on!! When i plug my ipod into the computer, itunes doesn't not show up and when i open(itunes) it manually it stays the same. Also, i tried charging it overnight and the ipod still wont turn on. Someoen said i have to buy another battery for the ipod?? ( I have no idea!) Any suggestions?? Should i just buy another one?

I'd say that the iPod is toast.
Easiest thing at this point would be to get the iPod repaired through Apple ($99), or to get a new unit.

PLEASE HELP I'M DESPERATE! I know there are lots of issues with media going offline. I am creating a slideshow of pictures with audio. The audio has gone "offline" and it is not able to reconnect.

I am using the same computer that the file was originally saved on, so that isn't the problem. I have tried multiple times to reconnect the files, but nothing happens. The sound was edited a little in Garage Band, then saved to the desktop, then edited more in FCP. I don't think that should make any difference but who knows. Please help, I've been working for hours now!

I'm still having problems with XUL Runner - please help am getting desperate!

I recently sought help over a problem I am having with FF. When I try and load it, I get a message telling me that XUL runner 1.9.2.11 is not compatible with 1.9.2.12. The advice I received was to do a clean install. I have done this a number of times - using the Uninstall option in Control Panel as well as running the uninstall utility in the Firefox program folder. Each time I reinstall, and get the same problem. The only difference is that a few days ago I was installing FF 3.6.10, and that gave the error message that XUL runner 1.9.2.11 was not compatible with 1.9.2.10.
I have FF set as my default browser, so when I click on links in e-mails, etc. I get the same failure to load symptoms. However, I found by chance that FF works OK in conjunction with System Mechanic 10 - a maintenance utility I have on my machine. If I select the on-line help option from that Menu, FF loads and runs OK. I can open new tabs and have no problem loading other pages. However, even with FF open, if I click a link in an e-mail, I get the XUL Runner error message.
Although not all symptoms are the same, I am also having problems with IE8. When I run the program it loads, shows a 'connecting' message in the tab header, then closes. If I uninstall FF, then System Mechanic selects IE8 as the default browser, and as with FF, loads OK.
Chrome and Safari both run OK (thankfully). there must be someone out there who knows what this all points to - is that person you?!
Note: Trouble shooting information retrieved using FF when opened with System Mechanic.

If you have such problems then you need remove the Firefox program folder before installing a new copy of the full Firefox installer.
It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.

Help! Still desperate because of this 32 - 48 kHz audio issue...

Hello fellow FCP-users,
I posted a few days ago asking what it means to have -along with the DVcamvideo- both 32 kHz and 48 kHz audio footage for one project.
After getting some very useful hints and suggestions I thought it would be no big problem, but even after carefully studying old postings about the same issue I'm still puzzled and indecisive. It seems the more I read, teh more confusing it gets.
But let me start with the first BIG problem: the capturing. Reading all replies so far, I understand that this should be done with a 32 kHz capturing preset. The only thing that I should do then is duplicate an existing setting (f.i. DvCam 48 kHz) to 32 kHz. Ok.
But I haven't found HOW I should do this simple duplicating action. So far I only found a DV 48 kHz-preset, by going to audio/video-settings, choosing the capture preset tab and then duplicate the setting, but at that point I can't find any option to change the audio capture to 32 kHz whatsoever. So there is where it basically ends, not having found any other option anywhere else to duplicate a capture setting.
Then, suppose the capture 32-question above will be answered, what will then be the best workaround?
I already tested this possibility: that is to log all my clips first, with only the video -no audio!- to be batch-captured. Then, as soon as I had all my logged files together, I duplicated them and gave new names to the these duplicates. Then I selected the first set of duplicates and batch-captured resulting in clips with onbly video. But when I tried to batch capture the newly named duplicates -only asking for the audio to be captured- it was again only the video that I got.
The idea behind this method was to separate video and audio, giving me the possibility to export the captured 32 kHz audio, thus getting the right 48kHz audio and then to delete all the 32 kHz audio in order to keep my project clean.
Would this separate capturing-method just be impossible or did I do something wrong here?
Or -if this was not a clever idea after all- should I just capture both video and 32 kHz audio, then create new 48 kHz audio and leave the mediafiles -both video and 32 khz audio- as I first captured them intact?
I hope one of you out there might give an answer to these questions...Especially the first one, because so far I can't even start with my project.

...going to audio/video-settings, choosing the capture preset tab and then duplicate the setting, but at that point I can't find any option to change the audio capture to 32 kHz whatsoever.
After you've duplicated the preset select the duplicated preset and press the Edit button which will bring up a screen that looks like this:
When I work on a 32 project all the audio is 32 so there's really no need to transcode although your project demands may differ in which case you could export the audio by selecting File/Export/Audio to AIFF(s) and reimport if necessary. Capturing seperate audio and video is not necessary for this workflow.

*B*I*G* PROMBLEMI....VIDEOS...ITUNES...HELP PLEASE IM DESPERATE!! =(

I first got my NANO in December, and i knew nanos couldnt play videos. But does that mean itunes for nanos wont play them either? I have only twice tried, and each time failed to purchase a music video.
Each time, the same thing happened. The download went through, the song was purchased, and my store credit went down. Then when the download is done, iTunes closes and wont open up again. Nothing i clicked on worked. I clicked my AIM icon, nothing. Email, nothing. And no error message came up either...It just froze.Why does it do that?
And to top it off, I restart my computer. I open up iTunes, and i check my purchases... no sign of the videos. My store credit was back to the way it was BEFORE i purchased the video. So basically i "never got it" .. and when i try to get it again, the message comes up saying " I HAVE ALREADY PURCHASED THIS VIDEO" ...which i havent!!!I tried getting "dance, dance" by fall out boy and "a little less sixteen candles" by fall out boy. i really want to watch them! I know they cant be put on my nano, but why cant i watch them!?

No actually i dont..... But i know for a fact it isn't that....my dad is usually an expert. But he's not sure this time. He said it might not work because even though I have a nano, which doesnt play videos, i cant play it on iTunes because my nano doesnt recognize it...? he said he thinks hes wrong but thats the only thought he has on that... Help me please :) desperate!

I have had itunes for a long time but all of sudden when i open it, a box comes up saying that it is updating itunes. I cannot click out of it. This means i can't put any more songs on my ipod because when this updating box comes up its freezes my computer and i have to end up shutting it all down.
I have tried to remove it and download a new itunes but it hasent worked!Please help!!!

after i restored it, it said that i had 4 gigs. so then i plugged it back in did the whole "automatically update ipod" thing and then after it was finished, once again, nothing appeared on the artist list, etc. it also once again said that 3.7 out of 4 gigs was taken.

If I type

the output gets sent to the server output window.
I have a project that I am doing that incorporates Jess (written in java fyi) and it is supposed to run when i invoke say this line:
rete.executeCommand("(run)");
However, all the output gets sent to the Server output window. I have been trying tonnes of ways to get the output to be printed elsewhere, even trying to write the result to a file but to no avail.
I think it's becuase the rete.executeCommand statement prints everything out in a similar way to System.out.println(yada yada);
Is there anyway I can get this output from the server output window?
please help.

FInally I got my AppleTV and connected it to my TV and network , sadly it took me hours until I succeed to activate airplay after finding out in some forum that I need to reset my network connections and the airplay icon will appear , happily it happend and I start looking for answers regarding the huge lag in mirroring stage ( which still huge problem that have to be solve after I will solve the airplay disappear issue) .
after 10 min the airplay icon disappear at my IPad and iPhone and even resetting the network connection is not helping , please please please some one help !!!

It's not necessary, but is a good troubleshooting step. How to do so varies from brand to brand. Look at the manufacturers website, they should have a manual available that explains how to access the settings and change it.

Ok, I've had my iPod mini for about 2 years. I have a problem with my iPod and I've been trying to fix it for a really long time like a year or more and it's driving me nuts. So I'm connecting my iPod to my computer to update it and download songs right? Well when I do it does the normal thing with the Do not disconnect sign and the sentence in the middle and this mini cycling thing to the top left corner of the screen to show that it's connecting I guess or something. But it won't appear on my iTunes and it just keeps charging and saying do not disconnect but there's this folder that opens up that's from my iPod that has the folders calenders, contacts, and notes. I recently went to the apple store to get it fixed and the guy connected it to one of the laptops they have and it's fine and everything and the guy says that it might just be that my computer has a virus and blah blah something about software. Unfortunately I cannot post the entire error. It won't let me attach pics because my account was not verified etc. I will summarize the error below to provide more info. When you say custom activity what do you mean? DO you mean custom
code? Or just custom actions?
The other developer did not go into the XOML. The file is huge. What is the custom activity I am searching for to remove? I do not need to touch the rules file am I correct? Only the straight XOML. I see things like Rule_ID239
for condition name. So these rule numbers I cannot figure out without any reference. SO your method does seem the best. So an example of custom activity would not be a regular branch activity or variable activity correct? There are
many conditions and steps but they were made from the GUI.
I am the first one going into the code. Any help would be so appreciated! Thank you Rama. I have gone through most of the code. Perhaps if I knew what should not be there I could know better what to remove. Any advice on that?

Help Needed: Pretty desperate

My hard drive Icon and the top menu bar have disappeared from my desktop. I did a reinstall of Leopard and everything worked fine but when I did the update software everything disappeared again. I have no hard drive hard drive icon and the bar across the top of the screen only appears when I launch a program such as Mail or Safari. I did the disk repair from the Leopard disk and I dont want to have to do a complete resintall and lose everything. Ay help would be appreciated from the Mac community. I also cant launch the finder from the Dock

your setup is rather complicated, so finding an "easy" way is kind of an oxymoron in this case.
Question:
Did you actually set up this MIDI environment in one of your projects or is it just something you dream of? If you actually made this setup and got it working, why don't you just use the "save as template" function? Should work like a charm.
For the single problems, try to work one by one. The MIDI setup for your external instruments is one thing. The plugin windows for the EXS or the Legacy instruments are another one. You do realize that any *software instruments* don't require a MIDI channel? They are triggered by their respective tracks and/or the correct cableing in the environment window.
So from here, what's you nearest problem?
