Help! I'm running out of options

I was having a lot of problems with my phone last week so on Saturday I decided to Factory Reset it. It seemed to help with the battery dieing so quickly. However when I did go to charge the phone all 3 of the chargers i had for the phone did not work. If i shoved the charger in real hard and held it at a certain angle i could get it to charge long enough to turn on and then my fingers would start to hurt from holding it in so hard and at an awkward handle.After dealing with that for a few hours I decided to just call Verizon. What a wonderful experience. I have no complaints as to how that phone call went. They we going to send me a new phone over night and with Christmas being tuesday i figured i wouldn't recieve it until wednesday.
I finally recieved my new phone wednesday night. Upon recieveing the phone i took everything out of the old phone ( memory car, sim card, battery, back) and put in in the new phone. I plugged in the new phone and expected it to start charging!...
it didn't... well it did but for about 2 seconds until i slightly nudged the phone and it stopped charging. SO me thinking then I had broken the chargers jamming them into the other phone i went out to a verizon store and purchased a new charger. YAY!
I got home plugged in the charger and........ nothing. if i plug it in and don't move it at all then i may get a tiny charge but then that error message of critically low battery will begin to flash on and off the screen because the battery decided it wasnt to charge and uncharge.
I'm unsure at this point as to what to do. I have a new phone and a new charger and it still will not charge?!?!??!
do i call then again? do i go to the store? help?!?! what do i do

First, buy a new battery. To me it sounds like your battery has failed because it will not charge and it also sounds like if you can get it to charge a little bit it goes "dead" very quickly.
One way to test if it's the battery is to go to a Verizon store and ask if you can temporary move the battery from a test phone to yours just to see if that fixes your phone.
By the way, take your charger and USB cable to see if you can charge the test battery.

Help Please. Running Out of Ideas Trying to Make iTunes 7.6 Work

Ok, I have literally spent hours trying to solve this problem and so far nothing is working.
iTunes 7.6 (and 7.5) will install perfectly on my computer. However, when I go to run the program, nothing happens. If I look in the task manager, it shows that the iTunes process is running and using about 15megs of RAM. Despite this, nothing happens. No interface, no errors, nothing.
Here is what I have tried:
1)I have tried running the program with multiple users and the same thing happens, process is running, nothing happens.
2)I went in and tinkered with the msconfig file to ensure no programs were conflicting with iTunes.
3)I deleted and removed pretty much every Apple file from my system.
4)I have tried doing a clean install of iTunes and Quicktime and it doesn't fix anything.
Quicktime is working. The version of Quicktime running is 7.4, I think that is the newest version of Quicktime.
At this point, I am pretty much flustered and stuck. I don't know what else to do, short of reformatting Windows and trying it then. I don't particularly want to do this though, especially when the problem started when iTunes 7.5 came out. iTunes 7.4 works though it also give me an error but at least it works.
If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

If iTunes.exe persists in the task manager even though iTunes doesn't launch, it means something is causing iTunes to hang during start up.
Restart you PC prior to troubleshooting to ensure nothing is hanging when you start troubleshooting, or use the task manager to terminate iTunes.exe.
You should run a virus and spyware scan as malware can do this although this is not particularly likey.
Some firewalls have done this in the past, so try a start up with your firewall off, again not very likely thee days.
After that a good first step is to establish whether iTunes will start in another account. This narrows down the possibilities a lot.
The following ariticle on freezes tells you how and also how to proceed with troubleshooting once you know if the problem is account specific or system wide.

I am going to take a guess that you will end up having to use MSConfig to look for conflicts.

Need some help... running out of time

Hope everyone is well... I have a G5 dual 2.5 running 10.3.9... running final cut 5.0.4... I am having a **** of a time being able to capture my hd media... some days it works and some days it dosen't. deviceses used: sony hd cameras hdr-fx1 to shoot, to capture sony hdv/dv video play back deck. modle hvr-m15u if that helps... i use the easy set up for hdv and when I (apple8) "log and capture". it tells me "Device is not connected or the capture preset and decice control preset are not setup correctly. you may still log offline clips." "This might also happen if your play dv footage in an hdv device"... i'm at a loss and need to get this video done by tomorrow.

My only guess is that I have overstock on dv tapes and i have been using those insted of buying the so-called hd tapes

Just a couple comments-
I use regular Sony miniDV tapes in my FX1 to capture HDV footage, so that probably isn't the problem.
I capture with my FX1. Have you tried to see if that works? That might tell you if your deck is the problem.
I also use OS 10.4.9 and FCP6, so don't know how those older versions play with the FX1.

Horizontal line - Running out of options.

Hi guys. I can hope someone can help
I have a LaserJet 100 MFP M175NW printer that is around 2 years old. I am getting 1 horizontal faded line right through every page I print, black, or colour. It is always in the same position
I have the exact same printer which is in perfect working order so I have tried the following
1: Used a new photoconductor I know works
2: Ran a clean cycle (10 times) on the cartridges
3: Installed 4 new cartridges, from the printer I know prints perfect
I'm not sure what else it could be? I am happy to get my hands dirty if there is something else I can try. I am thinking it must be some sort of dust/residue build up somewhere but I am not sure where or what to clean.

I see that you are getting a horizontal line in the same area when printing in color or black. I would be happy to help you.
Since you have already tried known good toners and a imaging drum, most likely it is the fuser or another hardware issue.
Please try the steps in this document to see if it will help resolve this issue. Steps provided are for running cleanings, calibrating the printer and printing off a Diagnostics Page and the Print Quality Page.

T410 lock-ups, running out of options

Hello all, this is my first post.
I just got a lenovo thinkpad t410 from CDW on clearance. When I first got it, I wiped the whole drive and installed Ubuntu 10.10. Every now and then the computer would completely lock up: to be more descriptive, the mouse would stop moving, but the chassis fan would still run and the drive would still appear to be "working"... I figured it was for lack of updated drivers.
I threw Windows 7 Professonal on it today. I updated most of the drivers through Windows by downloading files from Lenovo's driver site. I'm not 100% sure I had lock up issues before installing Windows, but I do know that when I put Ubuntu back on my sytem (10.10) alongside Windows in separate partitions, the first install completely froze and I had to re-try.
Anyways, towards the end of my driver update process, I found that when I turned the computer on, it took no less than 15 seconds (past log in) for the screen to lock up, in the same fashion as earlier with a clean Ubuntu 10.10 install.
I searched online and rolled back the most recent drivers I installed, but it still froze. Then I updated BIOS to the most recent version as per Lenovo's site... still freezes. I am at my wit's end. Could this be a hardware malfunction?
EDIT: I forgot to mention, now that I have both Windows 7 Pro and Ubuntu 10.10, the lock-up occurs on BOTH operating systems. It seems to lock up when it tries to access networking. I updated the network drivers very early in my Windows installation and had no problems for a few hours until I installed more drivers.

Have you tried creating a new user and new iTunes libary for testing purposes?

Please help with cancellation! running out of time

i really really need to cancel my purchase of illustrator, my first month is about to be over and i am running out of time! i can't seem to be able to do it according to the proper steps, because it does not appear in my plans or downloaded items. all that appears is a free creative cloud plan which does not have the option of cancellation. according to my bank, adobe has charged me for the first month of the package, so i don't know why it does not appear in my packages. please help as soon as possible. is there no way to contact adobe other than these forums?

Just got the unsettling message saying "Your system has run out of application memory" and I was instructed to close down applications I wasn't using, including browsers, or I might have problems with my computer. Yeesh. This is scary. Is the solution to buy more RAM? Bear with me, I really don't know what to do, and I'd appreciate your help.

Tried to update my product listings, but it wouldn't work. I have OS X Mavericks, 10.9.2 on my iMac desktop.

There is excessive swapping of data between physical memory (that is, the memory chips on the logic board) and virtual memory (one or more files on the startup volume.) That activity is relatively slow and causes the whole system to be less responsive. It can happen for two reasons:
A long-running process with a memory leak (a kind of bug)
Not enough memory for your usage pattern
Tracking down a memory leak can be difficult, and it may come down to a process of elimination.
These instructions are for OS X 10.9 ("Mavericks.") The procedure may be slightly different for earlier versions of OS X.
When you notice the swap activity, open the Activity Monitor application and select All Processes from the View menu, if it's not already selected. Select the Memory tab. Click the heading of the Real Mem column in the process table twice to sort the table with the highest value at the top. If you don't see that column, select
View ▹ Columns ▹ Real Memory
from the menu bar.
If one process (excluding "kernel_task") is using much more memory than all the others, that could be an indication of a leak. A better indication would be a process that continually grabs more and more real memory over time without ever releasing it. Here is an example of how it's done.
The processes named "Safari Web Content" render web pages for Safari. They use a lot of memory and may leak if certain Safari extensions or third-party web plugins are installed. Consider them prime suspects.
Another process often implicated in memory leaks is "inkjet4" or "inkjet8," which is a component of the HP printing software. If it's present, force-quit the process in Activity Monitor to solve the problem temporarily. Empty the print queues in the Printers & Scanners preference pane (which has a slightly different name in each recent version of OS X.) If you don't use an HP printer, remove the software. Otherwise, if the problem is recurrent, update the software (which may not help) or contact HP support.
"Wired" memory should be a small part of the total. That memory is not swapped, but it makes less physical memory available which may then result in swapping. If you have a lot of wired memory, that's usually an indication of a memory leak in a third-party program that modifies the operating system at a low level. Ask for guidance in that case.
If you don't have an obvious memory leak, your options are to install more memory (if possible) or to run fewer programs simultaneously.
The next suggestion is only for users familiar with the shell. For a more precise, but potentially misleading, test, run the following command:
sudo leaks -nocontext -nostacks process | grep total
where process is the name of a process you suspect of leaking memory. Almost every process will leak some memory; the question is how much, and especially how much the leak increases with time. I can’t be more specific. See the leaks(1) man page and the Apple developer documentation for details.

I 110% agree, it is a disaster but it saves your mac until you recieve an external HD.

Depending on how you created your account, "None" may or may not be an option. I believe it has something to do with whether the account was made through an App Store request or the regular iTunes Store. For example, my account allows no card but my father's doesn't allow there to be no card.
To change the card, go to your account settings and change the information to your new card, and hit save.

if you go to 'settings - iCloud - storage and backup' and remove an old backup, it won't do anything to the current settings/information on your phone, it will only remove the backup.

NEED Help Running Out Of Time+++Q:Opening a PSD file in Illustrator Question???

I have some artwork im doing for screen printing and a friend has been sending me some artwork to work on. The problem we are having is some of the artwork will open in Illustrator or CorelX4 and stay editable but then he will send me some that when I open in Illustrator it gives me this message and then will not be editable:

Can anyone tell us why this is happening??? I have researched this with no answers so far??? He is using PSD2 and Im usin PSD4 and Illustrator4

Photoshop is capable of saving files that are 16 or 32 bit depth. This has to do with the amount of colors that are accessable. The message you are seeing is telling you that it will convert the file back to 8 bit color space for you. This bit depth is talking about per channel, not over all. So a cmyk file would have 8 bits for cyan, 8 for megenta, 8 for yellow and 8 for black. Having a higher amount of bits per channel, photoshop is then capable of doing things like smoother gradients, retreiving data from raw images to produce an image that shows more highlights and shadows without the clipping and so forth.
Most basic monitors are only 8 bit, same goes for most printers. So unless you need to access the extra color depth, you should be fine in 8 bit. If you don't want to see this message, just tell your friend to send the images at 8 bit.
