HELP! I need to get my music ba

Ok, my player, a Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra 40 GB, ran out of batteries and I wanted to restart it to get some more play time out of it. Well, I held the power off button to get it off the "Low Battery" screen and it wouldn't start up again. So I recharged it later. When I turned it back on, the rebuilding library screen came on but the bar didn't go across. I checked my player, and there was no music what so ever on it. The "About" said I had zero tracks. All my settings were still there though. I tried pushing the play and reset buttons, but it still said that I did not have any tracks. The thing is that my free space said I only have 2702MB left. I tried uploading a song from my computer to see if that would do any good and my free space then read 2699MB. Does this mean that my music is still on my player? Or is that an error? And if my music is still somewhere in my player, please tell me that there is a way to retrieve the files.

You may just need to do a CleanUp on the unit, to recover that space and fix any errors. You can find the Clean Up option in the Rescue Mode menu. Information on how to access the Rescue Mode can be found on this page (and the article mentioned on that page):

  • I need to get the music off my Ipod Nano 2nd GEN onto either ITunes or in a music foldes on my new computer. Not all the music was purchased from Apple Itunes HOW DO I DO THIS WITHOUT LOOSING ALL MY MUSIC??

I have not had a computer for several years and I just got a new one. My old computer got a virus and when that happened all my music was lost. Thank goodness I had it all on my Ipod Nano 2nd GEN. Now my problem is that I don't know how to get the music off my Ipod Nano onto my new computer!!! I was able to get the songs that I purchased thru ITunes by just authorizing my new computer. But I have alot more music that is on my Ipod nano that I can't put into my ITunes library. In fact, I can't even get my music into a file folder on my computer!! I really need help. I don't have any copies of the music anywhere else and some of it is hard to get. How do I get my music either into ITunes or into a file folder on my new computer or even if I could get my computer to recognize my Ipod and sync all the music into windows media or something like that. Every time I connect my IPod all that happens is that it tells me if I sync the IPod that it will replace all the music from my ITunes library on to my IPod. And I am guessing that means all my music on the IPod will be erased. PLEASE HELP ME!!!! Thanks from the bottom of my songsters heart

From the OP: "My old computer got a virus and when that happened all my music was lost. "
They don't have the music on their computer so they cannot transfer the iTunes folder, from the computer to their iPod and then to the new computer. And if they try to enable disk use on the iPod it will erase all the music that is on it. The method you cited is moving the files in a data format using the iPod as a flash drive. It doesn't work if they are in music format. That is why I suggested Yamipod.

  • I need to get the music from my iTunes library to my iPhone 4, but it won't recognize my phone in iTunes...

When I plug my iPhone 4 into my laptop, a box pops up that says "The iPhone "iPhone" cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 11.1 or later. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes."
I did so, but after downloading this software, I was told that it needed my MacBook Pro to have Version 10.6.8 or higher to run. My MacBook has Version 10.6.4, and I have no idea what updating it would require. I'd prefer to get my music from iTunes library to my phone without updating. If anyone knows how, please help.
Otherwise, could someone please tell me how to update my MacBook, how much it would cost, etc.?

You'll have to update your OS on your Macbook.
Click on the black Apple logo at the top left of your Mac screen.  Then click on Software Update.

  • Old computer died, need to get my music from my ipod touch to my pc, how can I do this without losing music for free!?

I have an Ipod touch with about 900 songs on it, i used to connect with my old pc until it recently broke. i have just bought a new pc and was wondering how i could get my music from my ipod to my new computer! the only thing i need is music , no videos or anything. does anyone know how i can do this for free? not very good with computers by the way!

    - Transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
    Copy music
    - If you have synced photos and some other items you will need a paid program like TouchCopy or PhoneView. They also do music.
    - Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backyp by right clicking on the iPod uder Devices in iTunes and select Backup
    - Then restore the iPod from that backup.

  • PC crashed - need to get Iphone music to new PC

While I've seen variations of this same question asked in this forum, I haven't found an answer yet. My hard drive with all of my music has crashed and been replaced. I'd like sync in 'reverse,' and get the music from my iphone onto this new hard drive. While I realize there are copywrite reasons for not allowing this to happen without third party software, has anyone had any luck? I can't be the first guy with an iphone who had a computer crash (and hasn't backed up in a year).

One of the reasons for including your iTunes library with your computer's backup.
The same will likely happen with your new hard drive at some point, so use this link for future reference.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1751
iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iPod, iPad, and iPhone, but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only.
First you need to re-authorize your computer with your iTunes account with iTunes if you haven't already done so.
With your iPhone connected and without syncing, at the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone. This will include 3rd party apps as well.

  • I need to get my music from my Ipod, to my computer/Itunes. Please Help!

Hi! Yesterday, I restored my computer to its factory settings. I thought I had backed all of my music up onto a jumpdrive, but when I plugged it in, it only had about half of my songs. So I'm missing over 500. I've looked at plenty of things that tell me to change my settings in my computer to "show hidden files and folders" But it doesn't show any folders in the first place. All it says is Morgan's Ipod under Portable Devices. When I open it, it says "internal storage" Thats all. It does nothing when I change the settings. Please help, I get most of my music from CD's that I borrow from the library, so it work be extremely difficult to get them all over again.

    1) make sure iTunes on the new install is authorized for your iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPod but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPod with it.
above works for items purchased on the iTunes store. for everything else, check out this post by Zevoneer.

  • HELP! need to get DV into imovie using Quicktime 7 pro

Hi there, I need help! I have a movie that is in dv format. I downloaded Streamclip and converted it. Now imovie tells me that I have to have Quicktime 7 pro to change the movie into smaller clips so imovie can import the clips.
Is there any other way? If I buy Quicktime 7 pro, is it actually going to be possible to edit my movie in imovie? I don't have a dvd burner for my mac to save it when I am done. Any suggestions on what I should get? I really know nothing about movies...yet!

Yes. Use the in and out points to create a selection. Set the in at the beginning and the out about halfway.
I think iMovie 4 has a 2GB limit. Let's assume your file is 4GB in size. Make your selection to create a 2GB selection and then use the "Trim" or "Cut" to remove it from the source. Don't worry. We'll fix this later.
Choose "Save As" and pick the MOV extension. This will place your DV file into a .mov container. No changes are made to the true .dv format.
Now you have one 2GB "chunk" of your file.
Back to Streamclip. Note the "time" of your cut so you can find your place for the second chunk. From the Edit menu choose "Undo". This should restore your original file.
Trim or cut the other half of your file. Use Save As to create a .mov file of the second half.
Import these smaller pieces into iMovie 4. When your Project is completed you can delete your original DV file and the smaller .mov files to free up valuable hard drive space.

  • Help! Need to get rid of MacKeeper and Spinning Wheel!

    Hello Apple Community,
I have a problem that has been solved by one member of the community, however, I am still having the same problem.  I thought I knew my mac pretty well however, I was one of those stupid people who installed MacKeeper in hopes of cleaning up my macbook pro and get the spinning "wheel of death" to STOP!
I have read the posts and the comments from previous threads.  One in particular was posted by "uvistr" requesting help with the same problem I am having.  The community member, "etresoft", provided a great solution.  However, I tried to follow the directions to re-install mackeeper and then un-install, but I could not find any information in my logs with anything related to mackeeper. When I went to the mackeeper site, the only way I could re-load it was to buy it again!  I feel like I am going in circles!
I thought I had deleted, dumped, trashed MacKeeper, but I still have the white screen on my desktop that says "unistall mackeeper". Only the GREEN light is available to use and of course I only just get a bigger screen!  Nothing is on the screen and there are no options in the finder (that I have found) to delete this white screen.
I do know that I didn't un-install it correctly based on the information from "etresoft".  I am at the point of getting rid of everything on my macbook and then re-install everything.  I have everything backed up on an external hard drive.
Once I get MacKeeper off of my machine, will the spinning wheel stop?  OR does anyone think there is another problem that is causing it to constantly spin?  I have checked with Comcast and am running at their top speed.  I have the latest upgrade of OSX Lion and have deleted all pictures and movies from my hard drive.  Any thoughts?
Thanks for any help that can be provided.....

No, you do not need MacKeeper.  Removing MacKeeper will help.

  • Please help, desperately need to get iTunes back on my computer

Hello all, I will make this as short as possible.
I just installed a new, larger and faster HD on my Dell Inspiron 5150. It is the same brand as the other and is working fine. I use backup software and retored my HD to the same condition that it was in before the change. I started iTunes and retrieved my Podcasts and even loaded a CD on it. I was in the process of backing up the HD and I wanted to load the podcasts and CD onto my iPod. It would not connect to iTunes no matter what I did. I stopped the backup and it still would not connect.
I decided to re-install iTunes, went to the Apple site, downloaded the program and it would not install over the old version. I then deleted the older version using add/remove programs and tried to install. When I click on <<Run>>, I get a flash on the screen of Quicktime and then nothing. I then deleted Quicktime from the HD and the same thing kept happening.
I came here and saw a post about Norton so I disabled that and again the same. Then I saw a post about installing Quicktime first, same result. I can see <<quicktime>> and a progression bar for only an instant each time. I am rebooting between all these tries by the way.
Can anyone PLEASE help me to get my iTunes back. I do not have a disc. Can I buy one at Best Buy?? Everything is running fine but it just will not begin the installation.
If there is a solution on this board already, please point me to it. I need iTunes, I don't think I can function without it?? what could have gone wrong??? Again Please, PLEASE help me out.
Thanks so much in advance. I will keep searching for answers in the meantime.
    Mike (PLEASE HELP)

If your library was working on your computer and then popped up empty all of a sudden then this might be what you need...
    Empty/corrupt library after upgrade/crash
Hopefully it's not been too long since you last upgraded iTunes, in fact if you get an empty/incomplete library immediately after upgrading then with the following steps you shouldn't lose a thing or need to do any further housekeeping. In the Previous iTunes Libraries folder should be a number of dated iTunes Library files. Take the most recent of these and copy it into the iTunes folder. Rename iTunes Library.itl as iTunes Library (Corrupt).itl and then rename the restored file as iTunes Library.itl. Start iTunes. Should all be good, bar any recent additions to or deletions from your library.
See iTunes Folder Watch for a tool to catch up with any changes since the backup file was created.
When you get it all working make a backup!

  • Please Help!  Need to get this done soon - Bigger Size slideshow on web

    Hello,
I need to publish on the web a slideshow of some of my pics, but I need to publish them at a size much bigger than the little iMovie screen size I have now with iLife 06 and .Mac (the little screens that looks like a movie screen and other designs - I think it is at 320X240). I will go buy iLife 08 today if it will allow me to do what I want to do which is publish a slideshow with music of my photos at 640X480 or *preferably even bigger*. Can I do that with iLife 08 and how?

Have you considered using iWeb to create a photo page and slideshow? It creates slides that are 800 x 600 pixels in size for the slideshow. Here's an example of such a photo page/slideshow.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • Help, I need to get back lost text messages??

My phone broke in Jan, it froze and would not allow me to do anything with it. I wasn't thinking at the time about all my data because I knew the phone backed everything up. Also I had a certain amount of messages saved to phone. Since they sent me a new phone, I was able to retrieve all of my pictures, I was not able to get those text messages. I really need them. Does Verizon hold on to messages for a certain amount of time for legal reasons? Any help would be great, thank you Lisa .

        lmsizemore,
I'm sorry to hear about your phone, I know how hard it is to know messages have been lost since I keep most of mine. I'm glad you now have a replacement and pictures restored. Unless you had an appliation to backup your messages, the messages can't be restored. You can access your messaging history(date, time, number) from My Verizon, but no content is available.

  • My old PC blow and I need to get my music into Itunes on new laptop

My old PC blow up and I want to know how to get my Ipod music on my new laptop. I down loaded the new Itunes version and used my ID but none of my stuff is there. I am afraid that if I plug in my Ipod I will loose my music.
How do I transfer the Ipod music into my Itunes?

Don't worry about plugging the iPod into the computer, the first time you do iTunes will say that the iPod is synced with another computer and ask if you want to erase it and sync it with this computer. Click no or its equivalent and don't worry about it.
After that, you can use iTunes to transfer content purchased from the iTunes Store from your iPod to your new computer. It should be under the File menu.
If you did not buy everything on your iPod at the iTunes Store, take a look here before you transfer just the purchased content, http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/consumerelectronics/ipodfaq/transfer-copy-songs-ipod-to-computer.html or just google transfer from ipod to computer and select your OS of choice.
