Help! I need to reinstall quicktime-
I ran into trouble after I downloaded Perian and Divx, hoping to view and (eventually) save avi files from my rca small wonder camera as quicktime files. At first it worked, but very quickly quicktime began to crash when I would try to open one of these files - and the next day it began to crash whenever I tried to open any files at all. These included standard .mov files. So I got desperate and thought I'd better get rid of Perian and Divx for mac, which I did. Quicktime still crashed. So then, just now, I decided to uninstall and then reinstall Quicktime. I did what I had done with Perian - searched for "quicktime" and trashed everything I found. This was a mistake! because, when I downloaded Quicktime 7.5 from the Apple site, it's just an updater, and there is nothing to update. How do I get the full program back?!!

BTW, what are people doing about mov files opening extremely slowly, dropping frames, and so on? That's why I installed Perian in the first place (and also to view avi files). But I don't want to mess up Quicktime again - so how can I fix these problems. Apologies for spamming my own thread - and thanks for the advice.

I have a MacBook that was came with Leopard but now has Snow Leopard; it received a new HD through AppleCare, and was given 10.6.3 during the repair. I was NOT given new install disks.
I now need to reinstall QuickTime X, which I (foolishly) deleted in a failed attempt to install QT 7 (to play AVI movies).
Downloaded QuickTime 7 will not install because my system says I have QT X installed.
How do I re-install QuickTime X (or install 7) to 10.6.3 without any Snow Leopard install disks?
Thanks.Until you get a Snow Leopard disk, you won't be able to find the files anywhere.
For your original problem, Quicktime 7 should have been installed in the Utilities folder. You can't install the QT7 from a download because it is not the correct version to run on Snow Leopard. If you had a QT7 Pro license, it will work with the version of QT7 that should have been installed. -

Posted this in the QuickTime forum but aside from a spammer I've not heard from anyone. Hoping someone here can help me.
I'm new to Macs so I'm not sure how to proceed with a problem I'm having. I was trimming a couple of files in QuickTime and everything was working great until I tried to trim a larger file. When I tried to save it a popup window opened with a message saying "QuickTime application quit unexpectedly". Hitting the details button revealed a huge report (part of that report is pasted below). Since that error occurred, I can't trim and save any of my files. Every time I do I receive the same error message. I've restarted my Mac and have the same results.
Do I need to remove and reinstall QuickTime? Version is 10.4 (833). What can I do to troubleshoot and fix this problem?

SERIOUS PROBLEM! I need to reinstall quicktime after deleting the .app
I am trying to reinstall quicktime that came with my macbook pro, after deleting the quicktime.app file and the folders in the library.
You might ask why I did this? I have quicktime pro to install, but it's version 7.1.1, and would NOT install over 7.1.2; I messed up though, I know that now.
How do I fix it? Trying to reinstall quicktime 7.1.2 that I downloaded just crashes the installer.
Thanks!No, I have not deleted the Quicktime712.pkg from Library/Receipts. Should I do this, or put the OSX disk back in the drive and then run the package that is in my Receipts folder?
I run software update religiously, so I know that is not an issue.

I have been trying to reinstall Quicktime Pro onto Windows 7. I got a new computer with Windows 7. I used to have Quicktime Pro on my old PC - Windows XP. I know the product key. But forgot the order number (dummy me, I forgot to save that email). I hope I don't have to buy it again.
Oh, I found my information about my purchase. Good thing I saved it (Didn't think I did). Hope I can download it and reinstall it without having to pay for it again.

I followed instructions for re-instillation using Pacifist but after using Pacifist and searching for QuicktimePlayer.App all I find is a log file, no way of re-installing.
David Brewer gave great instructions and following them everything worked fine until the last step which dead-ended in the log.
Help appreciated.

In order to install Acrobat X you need to launch Setup(.exe or .dmg) file for Adobe design Std/Premium and there you will get check box for acrobat x you just need to select the check box for acrobat x only that will install acrobat from you.
If you don't have a download for CS6 you can download it from Download CS6 products. -
I am trying to open my iTunes on a Windows XP laptop and get the error message 42404 "iTunes application could not be opened. Please repair or reinstall QuickTime". I did that and it did not help. Any ideas?

That means it can find the Hard Drive, or can't find the things needed for booting.
See if DU even sees it.

4. Select your Mac OS X volume.
5. Click Repair Disk, (not Repair Permissions). Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.) -

Please go to
Applications --> Utilities --> Adobe Installers and check if you have any uninstaller for Acrobat XI.
Incase if you find the uninstaller then run that and uninstall the remnants of this software.
