Help! I think I've made a huge error! (songs from ITouch to ITunes)

I've been having trouble transferring songs bought on my ITouch into my Itunes on my computer.
I tried right clicking on 'My Ipod' and 'Transfer Purchases' and going to 'File' and clicking 'Transfer Purchases to My Ipod', but neither did anything. As a last ditch idea I reset my sync settings, and as a consequence have lost all the songs I downloaded on my ITouch. It wasn't many (around thirteen) but I'm left with the sickening realisation that I can't get them back.
Can anybody offer me any sort of hope, or will I have to pay for them all a second time to get them back?

Try uninstalling iTunes from your computer, then re-installing it. Then once loaded back on (it still won't have your songs), click on  the iTunes Store and log in. Then plug in your iPod, then right-click it on the bar on the left side of the screen, then click "Transfer Purchases". It then should sync all of your songs, movies, TV shows, and Apps to your computer.
Hope this helps.

Can anyone help transfer songs from itouch to itunes?
Stupidly I deleted all my music from my laptops music folder: I was doing a spring clean and wrongly thought that all the music was duplicated stored in itunes itself.
Anyway I have all my music on my ipod touch I need now to reverse sync this music back to my itunes.
I know that the solution is to transfer from my itouch>my laptop>my itunes library.
The problem I have is that my computer is not recognising my itouch; it is however showing up in the itunes programme, but not under my computer.
Does anyone know how I should proceed.

  • HELP! Lost my entire library of over 700 songs with my last iTunes update. I had a lot of trouble even getting to update, and when it did it took out my entire library. Even after signing in with my apple ID it will not pull up my music. VERY frustrated.

It started with my iTunes not wanting to update at all. I kept getting an error that read "cannot access %appdata%". Ok so I let that go, still had my music, podcasts, books, etc...I just didn't have an updated iTunes. It still worked so I was cool with that. Then my phone broke this week, and I had to get a new one. When I came home to register, it didn't give me my songs like it did the last time I backed a device up to my account. So I had to do it manually. Not even half way through, it just stops and won't let me add anymore of my songs, and the few songs that I tried to drag over are gray in color on my phone and you can't listen to them when you tap them. Never mind all my other songs that I lost as well. I mean, come on! I had almost 300$ worth of music that I feel has been stolen. My kids received iTunes gift cards every Christmas and birthday for the past 3 years, and now it's gone. ALL OF IT. VERY VERY UPSET! Ok, I'm getting ahead of myself, so back to the issue. I'm beginning to get flipped out when it stops working altogether. iTunes, computer, everything. It finally says, iTunes has an update available that will solve the issue (yeah right). Me being dumb, I guess, I begin the steps to again try and download this update. Still getting the error mentioned above, so I start finding out what to do to get rid of that error so I can GET MY SONGS ON MY NEW PHONE. Go to apple support, and it says to delete iTunes and all its similar components, and it won't even let me do that!!! I go into administrator side, and it says I need permission. I had already gotten into our administrator side to which only my husband and I know the password so I already have permission. I give up on that for a while, and see if windows has any updates. There were a couple so I download those. Try to go back into iTunes once that's all done, and it shoots up this license aggreement. I'm excited at this point thinking my ordeal is over. So I click agree and iTunes comes up. That's when I discovered all my music, apps, podcasts GONE. I click on iTunes match, and it says something about matching music for $24.99 a month?! I WANT MY MUSIC BACK THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN PAID FOR. If this does not get resloved, I WANT MY MONEY BACK that was spent on this music. If this isn't resolved I also will never, NEVER reccomend iTunes, or any of its other music/app/book/podcast related business to anyone ever again. I have been an iTunes user for almost 4 years now, and I have never been this disappointed. When my phone broke we almost got a regular phone to save money, but because of all my music/books/podcasts already in my iTunes account we got another iPhone. PLEASE TELL ME WHAT TO DO TO RECOVER MY LOST LIBRARY!

hi i had the same problem today when i updated my itunes to latest version. however, i have just found my songs in the 'itunes media' folder. this was accessed through 'my music'  then keep clicking through until you find itunes media and all my library songs were in there and i then just added these files to my library and all were restored however, i have lost all my playlists but at least my 700 songs are back. very dissapointed with apple that they have let this happen with their latest update, the previous version was miles better than this one . hope you find them. stevo

  • I DESPERATLY NEED HELP TRANSFERING SONGS FROM IPOD TO ITUNES LIBRARY

hi my computer crashed downstairs and i need help moving all my songs from my ipod to my itunes library, on the other computer...will someone please help me?

    Hello Markatkis,
Make sure your not connecting it to more than one PC. A new iPOd is set to "Auto Update" by default. With this setting all you do is plug the iPOd into the PC and iTUnes automaticly opens, loads all the songs it has listed in iTunes to the iPod, and after its done, ejects the iPOd.
If you connect it to another PC tho with iTUnes on it you usually get a promtp that in short says "iPOd library linked to another PC, do you want to link to this one" if you click yes, it wipes the iPOd clean and loads only whats on that PC.
Since your new to all of this a great place for you may be the "iPod 101" site. It will show you all the bacis ropes of using your iPOd, using iTUnes, and using them both together. http://www.apple.com/support/ipod101/

  • Why can't I move songs from my old iPod to my new iTunes acct and why can't i move new songs from my new iTunes acct to my old iPod?? Help please!

I forgot my user name and password to my old iTunes account.  Apple was unable to assist me in recovering the old account so I opened a new iTunes account.  I connected my old iPod to my new iTunes account but cannot move music from the iPod to the new iTunes account, and vice versa... if anyone can help me - I would really appreciate it!  Thank you!

Was all of the music that is on your older iPod purchased with that older content or is some of it also other content imported originally from outside of iTunes?  You won't be able to purchased content from the older account to your new iTunes library unless you can remember/regain access to that older account.
For other content, you can transfer it using one of the many suggestions mentioned in this older post by another forum member Zevoneer.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2452022?start=0&tstart=0
As to not being able to sync any new content to your iPod, it's likely because you are trying to sync the iPod with a new/different iTunes library.  iPods were designed to sync with only one computer/iTunes library at a time. So your iPod does not recognize this new library as the one it was originally set up with.  In order to associate the iPod with the new library, you need to restore it to factory settings in iTunes by clicking the Restore button from under the iPod's Summary tab.
Of course you won't want to do this until you have successfully moved all the older content off it into your new library.

  • I think I have made a big mistake moving from Sky.

I have just joined BT Infinity 38mb service from Sky on 17/12/14 and I have had nothing but trouble with wireless speed issues since. In the 18 months I was with Sky I never had to phone them once about my service. I always had good connection and good wireless speeds between 23mb to 35mb.
Now BT is another story my wireless speeds fluctuate between 0.1 to 35mb something that never happened before.
I phoned customer care on many occasions and most of the time I think they are just reading off a monitor for replies and solutions. Most of the people seem to have very poor expertise in the subject. I have been asked to do the same tests time and time again to no avail. They played about with the settings on many occasions and only made it worse.
Our house uses mainly Apple devices and a Macbook pro computer. I think there might be a problem with the router set up and ability for through put for Apple products which I have mentioned many times to see if they could configure the router for this but know one seems to understand. All I get is the easy get out that there is wireless interference and that's it. I point out to them that I never suffered interference with the Sky router placed in the same position and the problems only started when I switched to the Homehub 5.
If it's not the setup then maybe the router might be faulty which know one want's to accept or this router must be one of the worst on the market which would contradict BT's marketing claims.
I have posted this as to try and get some help as the last customer agent told me to buy another router. Shows what she thinks of the Homehub 5.
Any suggestions would be very much appreciated.
    horas

Because Customer Services have changed settings in the Homehub I would start again by doing ONE factory reset of the homehub by pressing a pin into the recess button on the rear for about 20 seconds.
I would then switch off "Smart Set Up". See link how to do that.
    http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/44328/~/switching-smart-setup-on-and-off-on-the-bt-ho...
I would also give the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz frequencies different SSids. Just add a 5 to the end of the 5Ghz SSid so you know which is which. Check the 5 GHz Sync with 2.4 GHz: is set to NO.
Once you have done that "forget" the Homehub connections on all your devices and then re-start them. Log onto the 2.4ghz frequency first and see how it performs. If it is OK then log onto the 5Ghz frequency to see how it performs. If they both perform OK you should then log all devices onto them.
If you have a problem with one or other of the frequencies you know that is where your problem lies.
    See this link
    http://bt.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/44798/~/i-have-problems-connecting-5ghz-and-dual-band...
As you have a wireless analyser yu should also set the Homehub to the least congested channel on the 2.4Ghz frequency. I find that channel 13 is usually the best despite overlapping with channel 11.
You can usually leave the 5Ghz frequency on "smart wireless" as it is a lot less congested.

  • Think I have made a big error.

I have just joined BT BB from sky and it was activated a week ago. I didn't add youview at the time as I wanted to discuss it with the wife. We have now decided to add it but there is a £49 charge.
Surely Bt would class us as new customers if we were only activated on the 13th June?

    benwiddowson wrote:
£49 charge applies to new and exisiting customer ordering TV.
Oh right, thanks for that. That puts my mind at rest. I thought I had missed out there.
I was sure I had seen a thread here where someone complained that new customers got it without the activation charge.

  • Please help!! my iPod won't download the songs from iTunes!!

When ever i try to update my iPod this message pops up and says
"Attempting to copy to the disk"iPod" failedyou do not have enough access priviledges for this operation.iTunes could not save to your music folder because you do not have write access.Check the permission on your music folder and folders in your music folder, then try copying this file again."
There is this lock at the bottom of the screen by where is says the amount of space used and amount of space avaliable. i think if i can get that to go away it will work again, but i don't know how to get it away.
I've tried many things. if you can help it would be appreciated!!
    iPod photo   Windows XP

That padlock icon simply means that you have the iPod set to automatically transfer music from iTunes. To remove it, you need to set your iPod to manual transfer.
Has this message always been displayed, or is it a recent occurrence?

  • Help moving songs from ipod to itunes

I had to do this a few months back and was able to contact someone about this and I did it, but then my computer crashed and I had to get a new hard drive so I think I have everything on my ipod ready, but I just need to know how to put my songs back on my computer. I authorized it and I was able to move all my purchased music on there, but thats it.

If you are using iTunes version 7 or later, then you can transfer purchased iTunes store music from the iPod to an authorized computer by using the "file/transfer purchases from iPod" menu. Note that the maximum of 5 authorized computers applies here.
For all other non purchased music (your own CDs etc) try this method which works on some Windows PCs.
Enable your iPod for disk use.
    See: iPod Disk Use.
Open iTunes and select edit/preferences/advanced/general. Put a check mark in the box marked "copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library" and also "keep iTunes music folder organized", then click 'ok'.
Connect the iPod whilst holding down the shift/ctrl keys to prevent any auto sync, and if you see the dialogue window asking if you want to sync to this itunes library, click 'no'.
Then go to file/add folder, open 'my computer', select your iPod and click 'ok'.
The music files should transfer to your iTunes.
If this doesn't work (and it may not because officially it's not supposed to), check out the instructions/suggestions here.
Music from iPod to computer (using option 2). This a manual method using "hidden folders" and although it works, it can be messy.
Much easier ways are to use one of the many 3rd party programs that copy music from the iPod to the computer.
One of the most recommended is Yamipod. This is a free program that transfers music and playlists etc from iPod back to the computer. However, it does not transfer playcounts/ratings etc.
Another free program is Pod Player.

  • Transferring songs from PC to Itunes. HELP!

I put songs from PC files onto a flash drive and put them into the Itunes Library. It looked like it worked fine until I tried to click and drag them to a Playlist. For about half the songs, an exclaimation point appers next to the song and I get a message that says "This song could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" When I click "Locate", it opens the main computer file window. At that point I'm lost. Is there an easier way to get these songs to work?? Why do some of them work fine??

  • Transfering huge play list from windows to Itunes.

it has been a while since i synced music to my ipod, and now i cannot figure out how to transfer songs from windows media player to itunes. The playlist has a lot of songs, and my music files are not organized,so it would take a long time to copy and paste songs to itunes. I do not remember if there is a chance of copying one play list to another. Thank you.

You might find this thread has some useful ideas. You should be able to add all your iTunes compatible media to iTunes without duplicating it.

  • I am having problems syncing recently recorded songs to my iPod. I am using an ion program to record vinyl records to iTunes. The songs are in the iTune library and will play on the computer. When I try to sync they show up but do not play. help

I am using an ion piece of equipment to record vinyl reccords to my iMac and in turn save them in iTunes. I have recorded many records this way and have never had a problem until yesterday. I recorded three songs from records to iTunes and was successful as they are on the song list and will play on the iMac. When I tried to sync them to my iPod they showed up on the menu but would not play. The iPod just skipped over the new guys. Am I doing something wrong or has my ion program flipped out? Any help would be appreciated by this old man. Thankyou

This might sound weird, but here's an idea which worked for me re music that was newly added to itunes and showed up in my ipod but wouldn't play - I simply played the tracks in itunes first, just a second of time or so will do it, not the whole track, then connect the ipod and sync again and this time they played - hope this helps.
