Help! I uninstalled Garageband due to problems but can't reinstall

I have a Power Mac G5 which was bought 2nd hand a week ago. Garageband had never been used i take it as it had the old version 2. something.. The program would open but nothing would show on the screen. Next to the apple sign at the top left of the screen it would say Garageband was open.. it would say you could check for updates or quit ect.. but nothing showed on screen. I done lots of research to help solve my problem and tried many things but to no success. I unistalled it but can't find a way to reinstall! please help

I've had some problems with Garageband when I tried to download extra content. I called Apple Support about a week ago and he said that one solution might be to uninstall Garageband and then reinstall in from Mac App Store.

That certainly looks like a low memory issue, 2 GB ram is barely enough to run Mac OS X versions from Lion through Yosemite. The high number of Page Outs and killed processes show very high memory pressure.
Try adding memory, but be sure it is high quality, Mac certified memory such as that from OWC, http://www.macsales.com or Crucial, http://www.crucial.com

I need to uninstall Apple Software Update program but can't. Message reads: "There is a problem with this Windows installer package. A program requirement for this install to complete could not be run." I have XP

Following steps in support.apple. iTunes was uninstalled with no problem, This was 2nd step and 2nd error was "fatal error during installation" I left everything as it appeared and no further steps were taken. I saw instructions for other OS "fixes" to these error messages, but not XP. Am aware it is no longer supported, but, my desktop is not designed for any OS but XP. Was uninstalling to fix a problem logging to my account within iTunes, and, was getting error "no connection to internet" Diagnosed it and found the secure server was rejecting my log in attempts, but internet connection was fine. Have Avast and Malwarebytes apps and, after running two sessions each, found Trojans which were quarantined. Rebooted and still getting same error. Uninstalling was last resort.
Help! If I hadn't already uninstalled iTunes, I would let it go since I could still access my music and other media. My iPod and iPhone would have just had to survive without the ability to sign in to my account, but, I needed to update my address to use my debit card for a storage upgrade and it was rejected because I just moved and the account needed to be corrected to reflect the change

The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Yes, when you restore as new everything will be wipe from your phone.
You will need to sync with itunes http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1386 to get back your apps/music and contacts IF you sync with a program in itunes.
I suggest you import your pics to your computer http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 then after you restore your phone, you can sync it back to your phone.

8.1 - sorted most problems but can't empty application from trash?

Like many others I had problems with the 8.1 update. Software update froze the computer the first 2 times it tried to install it, and although the application opened, software update showed no record of 8.1 being installed ("about itunes" showed 8.1 though).
8.1 wouldn't see my iphone though, and even after resetting the phone it wouldn't upload my tunes, app etc. I also couldn't play any of my purchased tracks and couldn't de-authorise them. Eventually I decided to delete iTunes from my computer, and downloaded it direct from the Apple site. First time installing it the machine froze again, but second time round it installed OK. Also showed up in software update as being installed too. Phone synced fine and all is working OK now but I can't remove the deleted iTunes application from the trash.
If I try to do anything with the file (even right click on it) the computer locks up for a few minutes. If I try to empty the trash I get the message "The operation cannot be completed because the item "pgs" is in use", and the computer locks up for a few minutes again. iTunes stays in the trash. Any ideas on how I can delete this file that seems to be causing all these problems? Cheers

I'd not used Terminal before but have now! I did a bit of reading on changing directory, deleting files etc and this is what I did;
(G5:~) bennyc% cd .trash
(G5:~/.trash) bennyc% rm iTunes
rm: iTunes: No such file or directory
(G5:~/.trash) bennyc%
iTunes is in the trash according to finder and it's the file causing the problems, but I can't delete through Terminal, or am I doing something wrong?

I need to reinstall InCopy CC after uninstalling it due to problems.

How can I do so, since my Application Manager shows that mine is up-to-date, and I see no place there to download it. When I go to Downloads Center and click download there on InCopy, it just takes me back into Application Manager, still showing that I have it and it is up to date.

Please uninstall by following the rules(check the preference box in front of the uninstaller)
Mac OS
Go to the Applications > Utilities > Adobe Installers and run the Incopy uninstaller from this location. The uninstaller is named "Incopy cc"
Windows
Open Control Panel > Programs and Features (Vista/Win 7) or Add/Remove Programs (XP). Find the entry for Incopy and uninstall. Confirm all entries related to Incopy are removed from the list after the uninstall completes.
Now reinstall from CCdesktop app.
Hope it resolves the issue.

HELP! I think I have malware but can't find it...

So I've been searching for the last two days and I feel like I've read everything from DNS Poisoning to RootKit hacks but I can't seem to figure out my problem. Here's what I've been facing:
About once or twice a day, at random points, my browser opens a new tab and tries to search a long laundry list of random words, all of which are never the same each time. Some times, instead of using Google or Bing to search, it'll open up Mail, compose a message, not addressed to anyone thankfully, with another set of random words throughout the message. I've run three different virus/malware/etc. programs but none seem to have fixed the problem. I've tried Sophos, ClamXav, and DNSChanger Removal Tool, none of which have found anything. I've tried the Terminal cache clear and scutil commands, and although I have a gray DNS in my airport settings (192.168.0.1), I haven't had any other DNS numbers show up or be grayed out. I've also had a hard time loading web pages which has never been an issue. Could this be a problem with the wireless router that I'm connected to and not a Mac problem? (There's a PC on the network and my parents aren't very technological, meaning they could've downloaded just about anything thinking it was something they needed.)

I doubt you have malware, spyware or a virus, since they are so rare on a Mac. But what I think you have is someone who has access to your MacBook Pro through Screen Sharing. I'll bet someone got access to your Mac, and set it up, especially since a local port is open.
Check System Preferences>Sharing>Screen Sharing. If it's checked on, someone is spying. Probably someone you know.

Invalid pin problem but can use BBM

I was owned Blackberry 8830 os 4.5 Verizon, a week before I was changed service provider and I got the trouble. Before I changed provider it work smoothly but after changed only BB messenger usable email, browser not work and I was trying to register on website it shown Invalid pin and IMEI format. Firstly, I wiped handheld, register HRT and got the registration SMS, "GPRS" sign shown on the screen but cannot received any Services Book. I do it again and again but still not work. I was contact to BIS provider and they said my phone didn't register on the system and they try to help but still have problem. What should I do about this case? Does anyone get problem like me before?

Help! Need to cancel free trial but can't find it!

Hi, I downloaded the free trial of PSE 7 a few weeks ago. It worked for one day and then said my trial had ended. I assumed I just did it wrong so I deleted it from my computer and really forgot about it. I ended up receiving PSE as a gift that same week. Anyway, I just got an email saying my trial was fixing to end, but when I tried to cancel it it says I never downloaded anything from Adobe. I am afriad it is going to charge my account anyway, which I cannot afford!! Does anyone know what I could do? Thanks SO much!

They won't charge your account that way. At least not until they jump on the subscription bandwagon that seems to be the current trend. I HOPE NOT!!!
Anyway, if I am correctly understanding you, just ignore that email. I got one that was even stranger since I have never downloaded any CS4 product - trial or not.
