HELP! I updated my software and can no longer burn cds using iTunes

I followed all of the troubleshooting steps for not being able to burn a cd. I was able to burn cds with other cd burning programs installed on my pc, but itunes was the only program that would not burn the cd correctly. itunes would go through the entire process of burning: check media, check playlist, burn cd, finish burning cd. itunes would even ask me if I wanted to import the new cd into my playlist after it finished "burning" my cd but there was never anything on the cd. I also tried playing the cd using other programs and in other equipment but it never worked. I updated my software recently and I thought I could try to go back to an older version because I never had this problem before. However, when I uninstalled the newer version and tried to reinstall an older version of itunes, the older version of itunes refused to open because my music library was apparently created by the newer version of itunes. I don't know what to do to be able to burn cds again. At this point, I would much rather use another cd burning program but itunes is the only program that will burn the songs that I've purchased from itunes onto a cd.

Notes usually sync with a mail service i.e gmail, yahoo, aol, etc. Do you have a mail account setup on your product? If so, have you went into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Select your mail account > see if notes are toggled on

    I have successfully been burning CDs in iTunes until recently. I can now no longer burn an audio CD. The CDs I am using are the same as before (CD-R, same make etc) and I am trying to burn albums purchased through iTunes. No error message comes up, it just doesn't burn.   • Upgraded to v. 6.0.1, can no longer burn CDs.  Details below.  Please help!

    Like many other users, I can no longer burn CDs since my recent upgrade to version 6.0.1. I was able to burn CDs with no problems before this upgrade, but now when I click "Burn Disc", iTunes freezes with no error message. I have to exit out using Ctrl-Alt-Del, as iTunes is not responding.
    I have a Gateway Profile 4 with Windows XP Pro. CD diagnostic info is below for both blank and recorded CDs.
    Please help this frustrated user!!!!

    Try updating your drives firmware. Click 'Firware Updates' on the right hand side of this page, then follow the instructions and download the update, then install. See if that helps. Its worth updating the firmware anyway :P

    After you select Burn, you need to select AudioCD in the pop-up window.

    Try a free burning utility which allows you to turn off the laser for test burning (so you don't waste media).  Try burning a test CD outside of iTunes.  If it works it's iTunes. If it doesn't work it could be computer software or hardware but then we know how to proceed.

  • Updated to ios5 and can no longer stream videos with apps. Solutions?

    I updated my iPhone 4 to ios5 and can no longer stream avi files that I get as mail attachments. I have two video player apps (GoodPlayer and oPlayer) and I can't choose to open the attachments with either of them when I hold down the file name in mail. Before the update, avi files played perfectly well with oplayer and now, nothing... I'm a pretty basic user and just want something that works well. Anyone have any ideas?

    Are you running the current versions of these apps - you have checked for app updates?
    I use OPlayer which works fine with iOS 5. As an FYI, viewing an AVI attachment received via emal is not streaming.
    Any problem with a 3rd party app you need to take up with the app developer.

    All you have to do is connect the iPod to our computer and update via iTunes. You do not have to seperately erase and restore the iPod. That is done automatically as part of the update process.
    To update see:
    iOS 4: Updating your device to iOS 5 or later
    You need iTunes 10.5 or later on the computer. Y will go to iOS 5.1.1. the last update fopr the 3G

    Can I transfer my music from my ipod to my computer??? I'm scared to plug my iPod into my computer because I'm afraid it will erase everything. I don't have any hard copies of my music because my car was broken into last month and they took all my CDs. Can someone help me please!

    You can't sync or drag your music back directly from an iPod to iTunes, the transfer of music is designed by default to be one way from iTunes to iPod. However there is a manual method of accessing the iPod's hard drive and copying songs but not playlists back to iTunes on Windows posted in this thread: MacMuse - iPod to iTunes
    If you prefer something more automated then there are a number of third party utilities that you can use to retrieve the music files and playlists from your iPod, this is just a selection. Have a look at the web pages and documentation for these, they are generally quite straightforward.

    If you haven't already done so, change the update setting for your iPod to manual. If you are using the iPod in manual update mode, your iPod is safe from being accidentally erased when you connect to an empty iTunes after reinstalling your operating system. However if your iPod is set to automatically update you will get a message that your iPod is linked to a different library and asking if you want to link to this one and replace all your songs etc, press *No*. Pressing "Yes" will irretrievably remove all songs from your iPod. Your iPod should appear in the iTunes source list from where you can change the update setting to manual.
    You can also use a keyboard command to prevent your iPod auto-syncing with iTunes. While connecting the iPod to the computer on Windows hold down the Shift + Ctrl keys (on a Mac hold down the Option and Command (⌥ and ⌘) keys). This will stop the iPod from auto-syncing with iTunes and the iPod will appear in the source list. Wait until you are sure the iPod has mounted, and that it will not auto sync and then you can let the keys go. This may take between 20 to 30 seconds depending on your computer. Then go to Preferences>iPod and check the "Manually manage songs and playlists" box: Managing Your Songs Manually
    Whichever of these retrieval methods you choose, keep your iPod in manual mode until you have reloaded your iTunes and you are happy with your playlists etc then it will be safe to return it auto-sync again.

  • Can no longer burn cds that will play in my car's cd player

    Yesterday I tried to burn a replacement CD for one that got damaged. The disc was one I created in Itunes a couple of years ago. It won't play in either my sound system's cd player or my car's. The only thing that has changed is the version of Itunes (current) and my OS which is now 10.6.8. I also bought an album from Wofgang's Vault, and got identical results. I tried to burn in both Itunes and straight to the CD burner. I tried audio format vs MP3. I tried a windows machine with a different CD burner, the same machine actually that I was burning Itunes discs on originally. Same results. Is this a Rights Management issue? Has something changed recently in this regard? How do I make CD's that I can play in the car?
