Hey there.
I use skype from two computers.
Last week i blocked a contanct from computer1 and yesterday i unblocked it from the same computer.
So i noticed that after i unblocked this contact, it still appears at my homepage with his picture, info and everything, BUT only from computer1.
When i use computer2, this contact appears at my contacts, but only with his skype name (the one he uses to log in) and not with his display name. Also, i can't see his picture or any other information. It just appears offline, with his log-in name and with no picture. That's all.
So what's going on? Why can i see everything normally from computer1 but not from computer2?
P.S.1 99% he blocked me too, but i have no idea whether he unblocked me or not.
P.S.2 I know my english is horrible, sorry for that.

i got my mum an ipod for her birthday, i also got her a itunes voucher as well so she could buy some songs
but because she didnt want to put her bank detail in to set up an account, (it wouldn't let her use the voucher with out setting up an account)
she used my account, but on her computer, it now wont let her tranfer the songs to her ipod or burn them onto cd.
i just log onto my account from my laptop
and it says
3 machines are authorized to play music purchased with this account, so i though that it would work,
it there anyway i can get this songs to work, and tranfer the songs to her ipod?

You set up an account using the voucher.
Go to the main iTunes store screen.
Select Redeem at the top right under *Quick Links*.
Input the card number, then select *Create new account*.
When it gets to the Credit card info, select None.
If you select *Create new account* and not Redeem, you are required to input a CC number.
You should be able to transfer the songs from your iTunes to her iPod. If they do not transfer, play one of the purcahses in iTunes first.
Then authorize her computer using your account (whatever was used to purcahse the songs).
She plugs in the iPod and she can transfer the purchases from the iPod to her computer.

Help w/using Aperture on two computers - which files

I need some help with exactly which files to move so that my Aperture preferences, toolbar, presets etc. are the same on both my iMac (main) and my MacBook. I keep the main library on the iMac and use the MacBook for travel and transfer projects back to the iMac. Thanks.

Start with your user preferences and see if this gives you what you need.
Quit Aperture.
In the Finder go to ~/Library/Preferences. (The tilde "~" represents your Home folder).
Copy the "com.apple.Aperture.plist" file from the Preferences folder.
Paste the file to your laptop.

I want to be able to send a automatic door opening signal to my studio garage from my other computer. I use solar gain to help heat the space and sometimes can not get up here early enough. If I leave ichat open set to audio. Can I log on at my other location with the same account and send the message which will include the sound that opens the door? Thank you all

Using LR5 on two computers and sync catalog

Hi,
I have LR5 on my iMac and have purchased a MacBook Pro for travelling - how do I get the photo's I've edited in LR5 on my MBP back into my LR5 on my iMac when I return home.Q

On your travel laptop, in the LR Library module, select the images you want to transfer, "export as catalog".
On your main computer, "import from catalog" using the exported catalog.
This all assumes you have a way to transfer the files from one computer to the other (network, external HD, etc).

Proper setup for using two computers and backup drives?

I've just purchased Aperture 3 and want to fix a longstanding problem I've had with my workflow and setup in Lightroom. I've got an iMac and a MBP and what I'd like to do is use the iMac as my main computer for Aperture. My plan is to import my existing files into Aperture and copy them to an external (non-portable) hard drive for back-up purposes. Based on this, I'd have two copies of each file, one each on the iMac and the back-up drive, right?
I also use my MBP for a lot of photo editing work while on the road, but don't have a lot of drive space on it. I've bought a 750GB hard drive and I'd like to have the Library on this drive as well for use on the MBP. I know this would give me three copies of each file, but it would also give me some peace of mind in the event I somehow lost the info on the 750GB drive. I don't want copies of the images on the MBP directly as I don't have enough space.
Can this setup be "easily" done and if I make a change in an image on one computer will it be synchronized between the two computers and the two external hard drives? I guess in plain English, what I'd like to achieve is the ability to work on either computer and have the most recent versions synchronize when I attach the 750GB drive to the iMac, with the non-portable external drive as the back-up for the synchronized Library.

No, vaults only look after a managed library. A referenced library has to be backed up manually.
There are a few reasons i prefer to use a referenced set up. I use a MBPro on the road for long periods and sometimes high volumes of large image files, so the limited capacity HD is no longer a problem.
Aperture does not slow down with a referenced library as the HD fills.
The Vaults cannot be accessed like manual back ups can, there is no way of knowing what is in there, you hope it is your entire Aperture library.
With manual project backup you have a more manageable size that is much more versatile, and is viewable because of its smaller size. You can delete stuff and then restore it from the backup.
It is safer in my opinion to not have all the library in a single library folder. Much safer split up by project.
When i did use a managed library and Vaults there were times when i wanted stuff off the Aperture library but still kept in the vault, which was not possible.

Can I put my library on an external hard drive and use it between two computers? I have two MBP; I will refer to one as computer A and to the other as computer B. I would like to be able to plug in my external hard drive, boot up iTunes, and if there were any changes made to the library previous to its last time accessed on this compluter, they show up on that computer, regardless of being imported on the other.
A hypothetical example: I import three albums called 1, 2, and 3 on computer A over a week or so. I take the external hard drive and plug it into computer B. The entire library which was visible on A, is visible on B, including albums 1, 2, and 3.
Is this possible? If so, what files need to be copied onto the external? I'm trying some different combinations, trial and error basically. Hopefully someone knows and can answer before I mess up my library. I also want to do this to free up space on my computer. All importing will be done from disc.

iTunes/Preferences/Advanced : point your iTunes to the new location of the Library.
Set "Share on local network" in the Sharing tab, and you or everyone on the local network can play your music.
You make a backup first of the Library.
Move the follwing to the new location:
/Users/your username/Music/iTunes/iTunes Music

Wow that was really quick, thank you so much. Im not sure at all which version it was because i said it was around 4 years ago he bought it. I know it isn't under his username, since he's a PC person (ugh) so i know its probably registered to one of our actual names. isn't there some way to look it up since we did register it, because I'm not even sure where the disks are from when we bought it (we've moved a lot and also have two storage lockers, i know i would have kept it with other disks) but my cd rom drive is actually broken on my computer as well ( i think it got stepped on and is now squished and won't eject or run disks.)
So is there anyway they can look up that its registered to one of our names since we did register it when we bought and installed it, or do i really have to find the disk with some sort of proof of purchase (i know there would be no receipt after all this time)

The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

Sounds like your iPhone was unofficially unlocked by hacking it. You need to call AppleCare, tell them you only want to know which cell carrier your iPhone is locked to and give them the model and serial number. Then contact that cell carrier and see what their official unlock policy is and if you qualify.

Unlikely as you do not meet there requirements for unlocking.
Have your friend the provided the phone contact them. Based on your statements I am concluding he was or still is an AT&T customer, that is one of the requirements of getting the device unlocked.

The serial number for the downloaded version can be used only on two PCs or 2 Macs (generally), depending upon the version purchased.

An "iTunes account" is an online account you use for buying music, like a bank account. An iTunes collection is the media you see when you open iTunes. Which do you mean?
If it is two computers, it would also help to know where these are located. Are they on the same local network? If they are, try Home Sharing (and you have control of both and you aren't just trying to get music fro your computer to your friend's computer in another state). If they are not, you'll have to use an external hard drive or flash drive.

It supports Java but is not Android. Can anyone tell me what I should be looking for in features that will allow Skype use, and what I should avoid? Many thanks. Steve

You probably want an Android or iPhone for use with the Skype mobile apps. Phones with the Symbian operating system - mostly Nokia phones - can also use a Skype app, but lacks some of the features available in the Android or iPhone versions. If you are able to confine your use to Skype to WiFi, not having 3G or 4G/LTE on your mobile phone is probably not an issue.
I have a Nokia N8 mobile phone, which uses the Symbian operating system. Nice phone, compatible with GSM/UMTS networks around the world. The Skype app for it is not great, but works on WiFi or 3G data networks. What I ended up doing was also purchasing an iPod Touch, which is compatible with apps for the iPhone, and a WiFI hotspot app for my N8. Then I use Skype on the iPod, connecting to the Internet through the N8's hotspot app via WiFi. It takes two devices in this case to use Skype, but I'm making use of the better Skype app on the iPod over the N8. Or I can just use the iPod if I have access to WiFi wherever I happen to be.
