HELP! iAS in non caching mode

Good Day.
I use iAS under W2K and Oracle 8i. Because users're working with
database not only with ejb, i want to make Orion to not cache
ejb. But when i write exclusive-write-access="false" in orion-
ejb-jar.xml, I've got the many exception like this one:
Counter_EntityBeanWrapper0.java:11589: Exception
java.sql.SQLException
is never thrown in the body of the corresponding try st
atement.
Where is the way to correct it ?

Hi,
while scripting, use the "%allocation"-node to devide the calls in ech script to both translationroutes to VRU.
So each script will send one call to VRU1 and the next call to VRU2 and so on.
Maybe you want to create a secure fallback, wich checks if the VRU you want to send the call to is active, and if not to send the call to the remaining VRU.
greetings
Chris

  • Outlook 2007-2013 doesn't connect in non-cached mode to Exchange 2013.

    Hello!
I have organization Exchange 2010 + Exchange 2013 in one AD site (hybrid organization)
Mailboxes based on Exchange 2010 servers work fine. But after moving one of mailboxes to
Exchange 2013 database, Outlook doesn't connect to mailbox in
non-cached mode. If I turn on cached mode this mailbox is connecting perfectly (OAB, Folders, PublicFolders, Addresslists).
I cleaned parameter "PublicFolderDatabase"  for Exchange 2013 database,  but the problem didn't solve.

  • Exchange 2010 all mail clients with internal cached and internal non-cached mode users having connection status issues, login prompt -- external is fine either way

    Hello,
I'm seeing an issue that started this past Monday with no recent change to our environment.
External Outlook Anywhere users and Mobile users, OWA users are unaffected.
Internal Users are affected when using Outlook of any version, 2010 or 2013.
-Internal Users normally log into their workstation with their ad credentials, domain joined machines. Outlook opens without credentials prompting ideally.
    1 . Using Cached Mode:
    a. Login Prompts, slowness - Since Monday, users are getting prompted to login. The prompt goes away after logging in at startup. It is also causing high CPU
    on the workstations.
    b. Free/Busy, Out of Office doesn't work. I can, however complete auto-setup for a new user, so autodiscover is not completely down for internal users.
    c. Checking Connection Status shows connecting status on highlighted entry below without ever establishing connection (just goes away).
The outlook icon in the system tray says "Outlook is requesting data from the server":
    2. Using Non-cached mode
    a. No Login Prompt at startup, business as usual
    b. Free/Busy, Out of Office works fine. Autodiscover is fine.
    c. Checking Connection Status shows normal except, it has "casarray URL, then status is referral" it seams to flicker this constantly then go away intermittently.
    d. Main issue in non-cached mode is, sometimes a user will log into windows, open outlook and it will not open and says "server is unavailable. Retry, work offline, or cancel" I can try re-opening, same message.
Only after logging out of windows, logging back in, I can get back into outlook. This is not every time, or consistent with specific users, but random.
    3. Lync Pop up  for credentials often, though entering the password.
URLs are correct. Autodiscover, EWS, etc.
Already tried bypassing our loadmaster load balancer with host files on clients. same issue regardless of casarray node.
Not sure what is going on.
    Josh

You have a hybrid configuration with Office 365, right?  You didn't provide this valuable piece of information.
In Exchange Online PowerShell run this command:
    Get-OrganizationConfig | FL PublicFoldersEnabled
If the value is "Remote" then users with Exchange Online mailboxes are looking to on-premises public folders.  Be sure that you have legacy pubic folder interoperability properly configured.

  • Outlook non cached mode

    Good day,
I have been tasked to see if there is a way to enable outlook to alternate between cached on non cached mode.  This must be based on whether the user is logging onto his primary device for cached mode, and whether he is logging onto a temp device for
    non-cached mode.
Can this be done using group policy? I know we can determine a primary device using SCCM, but not how to enable GPO to read from SCCM and then apply the correct setting.
    Windows 7 SP1 x 32
    SCCM 2012 SP1
    Server 2008.
Any info on how this can be achieved?
    Regards
    VB Knowledge = 0%

    Hi Carlo,
Before going further, to use group policy to manage Office, we need to download administrative templates files for Office from Microsoft download center.
    >>This must be based on whether the user is logging onto his primary device for cached mode, and whether he is logging onto a temp device for non-cached mode.
For the Outlook setting we want is under User Configuration in GPO, we can create a new GPO, enable Loopback Merge processing mode in the GPO, configure the Outlook setting in the GPO, and then utilize Security
Filtering to just apply the GPO to the user’s primary device account.
Regarding Loopback processing, the following article can be referred to for more information.

  • Exchange 2013 - Attachments in *.EML files missing in non-cached mode

    Hello
Our client recently upgraded from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013. Since the migration they have had issues with an archiving system they use. Bascially the archiving system creates .eml files of journaled emails.
The issue our client has is when Outlook is running in non-cached exchange mode any attachments within these .eml files are missing when the eml file is opened. If they change to cached mode the attachments show up fine.
It's almost identical to the following issue I found while browsing the net:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/b9a390a9-e014-4098-ad6e-dd377a53422a/office-2010-exchange-2010-attachments-in-emlemails-are-invisible?forum=outlook
Aside from the Exchange version this is exactly what is happening for our client. Is anyone aware of whether the same issue fixed in Rollup update 5 for Exch 2010 SP1 is still present in Exchange 2013?
Our client has already said they don't want everyone using cached exchange so I can't tell them that. Is there a way to manually fix the issue or are we going to have to move back to Exchange 2010 while a patch is sent out? Does anyone know exactly what
    the issue is?
    Many thanks in advance.

    Hi,
I know there was this issue with Exchange 2010, but haven't noticed the same issue in Exchange 2013. The suggestion would be to keep Exchange fully updated - It seems you have done so.
I'm not sure when SP1 will be released, you may post this question to Exchange forum since it may be more related:

  • Cannot save free/busy information - Cached mode

So I have a calendar Admin, that has the ability to send meetings on behalf of new hires.  She was is cached mode and sent out a few invites.  Everyone she sent the invites to received the meetings, accepted the meetings and have the meetings on
their calendar.  My Calendar Admin see's the meetings on the new hire's calendar, but no one else can see these meetings on the new hires calendar.  My Calendar Admin mentioned seeing the infamous pop-up "cannot save free/busy information":
I disabled cache mode on my Calendar Admin's Outlook 2013, once I disabled cached mode and close/re-opened Outlook, all the the invites she had sent for the users were gone, no longer listed on the "Organizers" calendar... so somehow the invites
were only saved locally to her cached calendar.  This smells like a pretty bad bug for users with access to shared calendars and seems like they MUST be in NON-CACHED mode when sending any invites on behalf of someone else.  So now, all the meetings
are on all the calendars of the "invitees" but not on the new hire (organizers) calendar.  This is seems to be a reproduceable bug that I'm hoping isn't working "as designed"
Are there any known bugs with this process?  Is there a way around this other than disabling cached mode?  Where do these meetings actually save when in Cached mode on a shared calendar?
    Thanks in advanced

    Hi,
Please check this following setting on her account first.
In Outlook, click File, click Account Settings, and then click Account Settings (again).
Select the Microsoft Exchange account, and then click Change.
    Click More Settings.
    Click the Advanced tab.
Select the Download Shared Folders option.
Click OK, click Next, click Finish, and then click Close in the Account Settings window.
If this doesn’t work, please try to repair or re-create outlook profile to check this issue.
    Exit Outlook.
    In Control Panel, double-click Mail.
    Click Show Profiles.
    Select a profile.
    Click Remove.
Click Add to create a new Profile.

  • Outlook 2010 cached mode cannot see GAL but Outlook 2007 can via Exchange 2010

    Hi,
I have a problem similar to
this but with a different cause.
Our OAB config looks good from both Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010. Both can see the GAL in non-cached mode but in cached mode only 2007 can see the GAL. In 2010 it's just not there. Even the same user can only see it in 2007.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is?
    Cheers,
    Rob

    Hi,
I have got the same issue, that I can't see updated OAB in outlook 2010.
Can you share the detailed path of the locations you have mentioned here:
In Office 2010, this happens but these values also exist in the [Service1] section and are blank:
    OfflineAddressBookPath=
    OfflineFolderPathAndFilename=
And how do we add locations to these paths?
    Thank you in advance.

  • Outlook 2013 / Exchange 2013 : Shared mailboxes - Mail stuck in outbox (non-cached), Mail sends but doesn't get received (cached).

    Hello,
We are currently experiencing some weird behaviour in Outlook 2013 since we added Shared Mailboxes.
When we run Outlook 2013 with cached mode
    enabled:
    - I create a new e-mail and send it.
    - The e-mail goes to the outbox, and get's 'send'.
    - None of the recipients receives the e-mail.
When we run Outlook 2013 with cached mode
    disabled:
    - I create a new e-mail and send it.
    - The e-mail goes to the outbox, but remains there.
Now to make things even more bizarre:
When I switch from 'cached'-mode to 'non cached'-mode, I see all the e-mail that were 'send' in cached-mode stuck in the outbox.
Note: The DNS server configuration in Exchange is correct.

    Hi,
How about sending on OWA? Does the issue exist?
To troubleshoot the issue, let's run Outlook in Safe Mode to determine if 3rd-party add-ins are related:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
If there’s no problem sending emails in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.
Please also disable the firewall and anti-virus program to send the emails again, in many scenarios the protection may cause the issue.
Please also keep Exchange and Outlook patched to the latest.

  • Need help fixing video shut off after 2 minutes in non-windows mode

Good morning experts in this forum,  I need your help solving a hardware/firmware problem of my computer. I have a Hpe 250f computer with Radeon 5700 series video card on it.  I recently noticed one strange problem which prevents me from doing any meaningful work in non-windows mode: The video will be shut off after around 2 min if the computer is not in Windows mode.  This includes BIOs mode and recovery mode.  There is no problem if the computer logs on Windows within 2 minutes.  But if I stay in BIOs settings or try to use HP diagnostics or try to recover a backup using windows backups for around 2 min, the monitor will turn blank and the power button of monitor will turn yellow from green indicating no video output to it.  It can not wake up by mouse or keyboard. I read that older BIOs have problem with fan speed and I reflashed the BIOs.   But it did not work. This problem drives me mad since I had occasional hard drive failures recently and I could not recover my system (That is why I noticed the problem recently, but the problem could have existed when I bought the computer).  Now the computer is out of warrenty and I could not find any similar case using Google search.  I really appreaciate your help. Thanks

I had the same problem when I upgraded.  In my case it definitely was the power supply.  In my effort to figure out the problem by swapping components in and out, the dieing power supply killed 2 P8P67 Pro and 2 2500k, and when I tested with the P67A-GD65, the power supply totally died, but the good thing is that the GD65 survived.  Swapped in a 430W to test and everything was perfect.  At full load with GTX260, it will draw less than 300W, so your power supply is fine to test.

  • How to use non-Unicode mode in VB6 with ADO.

I'm using ADO on top of OraOLEDB to connect to Oracle 9.2. The database characterset is AL32UTF8. Since my client can't handle Unicode characters, I need a character conversion. However, arcording to the OraOLEDB document( which can be obtained here http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B10501_01/win.920/a95498/using.htm#1010255):
    "How Oracle Unicode Support Works
OraOLEDB works in two modes, Unicode mode and non-Unicode mode. When the client character set is not a superset of
the server character set, OraOLEDB automatically enables the Unicode mode. In this mode, OraOLEDB stores the data in its cache in the UCS2 encoding scheme. The user should ensure that the database's character set is UTF8 in order to prevent any data loss.
If the client character set is a superset of the server's, the provider operates in the non-Unicode mode. This mode provides slightly better performance as it does not have to deal with larger character buffers required by the UCS2 encoding."
My client can only use NLS_LANG VN8VN3, which is NOT a superset of AL32UTF8, so "OraOLEDB automatically enables the Unicode mode". So if I code like this:
    Text1.Font="Some Vietnamese Font"
    Text1.Text= rs1.Fields("Name").Value
the display is bad ('?' all over the place). This is because rs1.Fields("Name").Type is adVarWChar, so rs1.Fields("Name").Value is encoded in UCS2. What I need is to make rs1.Fields("Name").Type is adVarChar, but it seems to be impossible since Field.Type is readonly.
When I use MS provider for Oracle, I found out that rs1.Fields("Name").Type is adVarChar, so Oracle do the conversion from/to AL32UTF8 (database character set) and VN8VN3(NLS_LANG) for me.
Since I use LOB and things that MS does not support, I want to use OraOLEDB, so anyone can help me out? It's ugent.
I can see that some 3rd program like SQLNavigator4.3 work well with NLS_LANG = VN3VN8 and DATABASE_CHARACTERSET=AL32UTF8 (i.e the program convert between the 2 characterset).
Please correct me if I misunderstood anything.
I need this ugently. Any help would be appreciated. If I don't make myself clear enough, please let me know.
    Thanks in advance.

Thank you for your reply. I started to think that everybody is out on holidays...
The Oracle9i Client version is 9.2.0.1.0
Oracle Provider for OLEDB version is 9.2.0.4.0
Oracle Net version is 9.2.0.1.0, in case you need it.
The Oracle9i Database version is 9.2.0.1.0
But I don't think it is a version problem, is it?

  • Shared Mailbox folders missing in Outlook Cached Mode

Since I got no responses to my
original post in section, "Exchange Server 2013 - Sharing and Collaboration: Site Mailboxes and Public Folders" I'll give it a try here...
We have Exchange 2013 Server (Version 15.0 - Build 913.22).  I have a shared mailbox for our support team, "Support Center".  This mailbox is configured as a "SharedMailbox".  Our team members have been given Full Access
either by the Admin Web Interface or by "Add-MailboxPermission -User user1 -AccessRights FullAccess".
I am seeing this issue using Outlook 2013 Pro plus that manually created subfolders either in the root of the mailbox or folders under the Inbox are not visible.  These folders are just for organization, like "Work Order Entered" and are not
like contact folders or any other special folders.
We determined if the Outlook client is configured for "Online Mode"/non-cached the folders appear and are accessible, but if your enabled Cached exchange mode the folders disappear and are no longer accessible.  I have cahnged the cache slider
to go all the way right to say cache everything, not just the last so many days, but this did not resolve the issue either.
Upon further testing I have the same issue when I use Search-Mailbox with Targetmailbox and TargetFolder to my "Discovery Search Mailbox".  The folders is created and logs are made, but the folder does not show unless I am in exchange online
    mode and not cached.
HELP PLEASE!  This is very annoying and we need cached mode for the registry key to place sent mail in "SenderAndFrom" sent items.  It doesn't work in online mode.

    Hi CHase,
shared mailboxes shouldnt be cached, only user mailboxes should.Reason for this is because it will download all info from shared mailbox and it can take some time. All company info will also be stored locally,so its security concern.
You mention that you turn on cached mode,is this under user mailbox or additional mailbox as shown below?
The one to left should be fine to cache all,but the one to the right only first check mark should be on.We have this configuratuon and senderandfrom registry works well.
If you access OWA,then choose to open another mailbox, then choose the "support center" mailbox,do you see all folders?
By granting full access doesnt give you send as permission, for this you will need to run this command:
Get-Mailbox "[email protected]" | Add-ADPermission -User "[email protected]" -ExtendedRights "Send As"

  • HTML Email saved as MSG opens as RTF Email when Exchange Cached mode is OFF

    Hello,
    i have the following problem:
In an Exchange 2013 environment each time i open a HTML email and save it to disk as a MSG file (Unicode or non Unicode) i get a MSG file with an RTF Body. This only happens when Exchange Cached mode is turend OFF. I tested this with Outlook 2010 and Outlook
2013 with no 3rd Party Addins installed. Any idea?
    Regards
    Thorsten
    Best Regards/Viele Grüße Thorsten

I've found this information from our internal channel.
In some case, when you need to convert MIME e-mail with HTML body into .MSG file. For that, HTML must be converted into RTF.
Outlook Converter provides basic means of such conversion (which can be suitable in most cases), and lets you use any external converter for high-quality HTML-to-RTF conversion. Although Outlook can display .MSG files which have HTML
body and no RTF body, the problem occurs when you try to forward or reply such e-mail. For this to succeed, the original message must have RTF body as well.
So, please check whether the message you've dragged onto desktop is MIME message. This might be the root, however, it
still doesn't explain why it only occurs in specific circumstances (Exchange online mode only).
Feel free to post back. Thanks.

  • Room Finder is not working - neither Online nor Cached Mode

    Hello everyone,
since the migration to exchange we have problems with the room finder.
    Infrastructure is 2 Exchange 2013 SP1 in a DAG. DNS Round-Robin.
We created a room lists (distribution list not security) for each branch office that has meeting rooms.
Each room list has at least 3 meeting rooms.
Room finder does not select between the list and shows "none". This happens in Cached mode or Online mode. When we work with OWA (which we usally deactivate) you can select the list and then the free rooms.
Free Busy is working. When i use the scheduling assistant and add all rooms i can see the the infomations for all rooms.
Can anyone help with troubleshooting ?
    Best Regards
    Stephan

    Hello Satish,
how can I check that the room lists are in the OAB?
I tried with cached and with online mode. The rooms are created for over two months now so they should be included ;)
The URLs are correct. One internal and one external.
    I don't think the authentication is anonymous ?! Isn't that a security issue ?
    InternalAuthenticationMethods   : {Ntlm, WindowsIntegrated, WSSecurity, OAuth}
    Test-WebservicesConnectivity says success

Is it possible to restrict EWS only to internal? We do not use Outlook Anywhere. Our users can only connect to the exchange server with VPN, without some exceptions who can use OWA.
